You know this kind of brings up a few things about custody issues, often times parents do not send clothes from one home to the other because they don't get returned so they have clothes each parent has purchases at each home.

That's the way it was with my daughter and ex. He'd keep whatever he thought was good quality and not return it.

I googled 'scent trail and dylan redwine' and I could not find anything that said any dogs trailed his scent anywhere. All I could find was descriptions of the cadaver dogs picking up some kind of scent on the water.

I do wonder if they ever found his trail out of dad's house. Because that is dad's theory--that Dylan took off walking to go to his friends/ So did they ever bring the dogs to dad's yet?

He wasnt going there to live, it was just for a few days... How much would he possibly take with him? I cant see bringing suitcases upon suitcases.. Hes a kid. (agreeing its probably just a backpack..) :)

When my grandkids come to visit they only take out what they need at the time. If he got there and went to bed, he may not have taken anything out of his backpack. If he didn't use any of his toiletries, there would be no reason to take them out.

Quickly back to the issue of the fishing pole in the only relevant way that the fishing pole is after LE determing THE FISHING POLE FOUND AT LAKE IS IN no WAY INVOLVED OR RELATED TO THE CASE(LE actually located the owner of the broken fishing pole that was found at the lake)..

So, back to what IMO is the relevant issue re: fishing pole..what I found curious is some of dad's statements about the found fishing pole and LE searching the lake the pole was found.. Because according to dad he IMO was frustrated with the delay of the search of the lake and felt it should have already long since been searched.. Dad stated that he could have told them that it was very likely his son's fishing pole right away(therefor in his opinion go immediately forward with searching that body of water)..he states that his son's fishing pole is missing from his home..
Mark Redwine said Sunday that he hadn't been able to find the boy's fishing rod.

So, what is to now be made of these statements?..IMO it again directs suspicion at dad in our now knowing that the fishing pole located has zero involvement in the case and its owner has actually been located...so, are we to believe that there is actually Dylan's fishing pole missing from dad's house?..what a strange unlikely coincidence that would be..jmo.missing

Anyone got any more on this?

i believe comments made by dad about fishing and then finding a broken fishing pole is what took them to the lake. it was later learned that the pole belonged to someone else....

i have not read anywhere that the dogs lead them from his dad's house to the lake...

i believe, just this past couple days, they have had the search dogs near dad's house...

got no links...going on memory...so don't throw tomatoes, please..

Shoes?
Socks?
Underwear?
Tee Shirts?
Jacket?
Sweatshirt?
Shorts?

Hat?

He was going to be there for a week sure maybe he already had stuff there
but why would he walk off with all his sheet?
Makes no sense at all!
something is wrong IMO

Members of La Plata County Search & Rescue team using bloodhounds searched for the teen Monday night and Tuesday. The search area included the shoreline around Vallecito Lake, several small subdivisions, county roads, steep wooded hillsides and hiking trails. Many of the homes in the area are seasonal while some are occupied year around.

ETA: Monday night and Tuesday is Nov. 19th & 20th. The 19th is when DR was reported missing. I still don't know what they were tracking/trailing IF they didn't have a scent item. What were those cute noses following?

Thank you, but was there not two the first day and one the second day, making it 3 dogs, although maybe only two alerted.

Dan just said 2 and then showed the boats using sonar which is when the lake was "cleared".

But there is nothing about the bloodhounds being at Dads house. I really want to know if there was a scent trail walkin out of dad's driveway.

Initially LE went with hiom being fishing or running away for some reason/ I guess because all of his stuff was missing.

This keeps niggling at me.... Was Dylan known to go off fishing by himself, especially to large lakes distances away with no transportation.

Let me explain. I have a twelve year old, okay he is not thirteen, but close in age. If I came home and he was not here, even if his pole was missing, I would never figure that to be an important factor. My son NEVER would go to fish alone, he is always with me, his brother, his dad, but he would never never venture out alone. I mean is this something Dylan has done during past visits? And why that specific lake. We go to many spots.... I would never be able to choose if I had to choose one as to where my older son might be. I would start at the one up the road and go out from there. I just don't understand how Dad felt this pole missing was significant unless Dylan has exhibited this behavior of fishing by himself before. Puzzling to me.

When my oldest boy disappeared mad at me years ago, I circled the block. Then we called friends and checked out in the fields at his different areas he would hang out. My second oldest then said, ahem, "he is hiding in the shed" , so I let him be and he came in when he was ready.

I am just thinking out loud here. But...how would he notice if Dylan's pole was missing. My sons have poles, but if one was missing when I was trying to locate one of them. I would not be able to tell you when it went missing if that makes sense. I might notice its absence then, but it could have been gone for over a month and I am just now noticing. Does this make sense?

No, we don't know that. But it is one of the only ways it would make sense that Dylan would pack all of his things and try to hitch a ride to town.

If dad had left a note saying 'I will be back soon to give you a lift to your friends house' then imo, Dylan would have chilled until Dad returned home.

But he packed everything and left without a word. So that makes no sense to me. JMO

BBM - do we know this either, though? This is what got me thinking earlier that maybe Dylan left a note and tried to go it on his own to get to his friend's house when he realized he missed his ride with his dad. IMO his dad might've assumed Dylan already knew he was gone running errands if they'd talked about it the night before or something - i.e. "be ready by XYZ time, or I'll be back after my errands/appointments to take you to your friend's house."

I'm admittedly 5-6 pages behind again (shame on me for leaving for an hour or two!), but do we know Dylan packed all his things? Or that he ever unpacked them, assuming he got to his dad's house? I'm also not sure we've heard definitively whether both of them left without any words, discussion the night before, notes from either of them, etc. IMO it's possible there might've been things like notes that aren't being talked about in the media.

Thank you!! Perhaps not having a scent item and having to get one from Mom had me believeing/forgetting of these initial searches....I wonder if she brought something with her on Monday evening?

But it still doesn't speak to starting at dad's place to pick up scent; that is what is confusing me...

the article also says:

The search-and-rescue team is on standby Wednesday in case new leads are developed that could direct them to new search areas. Investigators are also retracing Dylan’s route from Colorado Springs to Durango and places he may have visited after his arrival.

BBM

As to what "those cute noses were following", I have no clue....
