Just a reminder that our favorite reporter Kevin Torres will be on live on the 6:00pm news MST (which is about 10 mins from now.)
He'll have the latest on the search for Dylan and my understanding an interview from family members.

The fishing pole story by Dad makes perfect sense to me. Then again that's why i am on/in a self imposed tunnel (vision). Back to semi lurking.

But there is nothing about the bloodhounds being at Dads house. I really want to know if there was a scent trail walkin out of dad's driveway.

Initially LE went with hiom being fishing or running away for some reason/ I guess because all of his stuff was missing.

I do too, but what would they be "scenting" (trailing/tracking) on if as mom said, she had to bring in scent items for the dogs. This was the night he disappeared and the next day.

Trying to find some info out about their certification program on the dogs. If anyone finds anything let me know! TIA.

O/T Amber Alert issued for missing 3yo CT boy if anybody wants to jump over and check it out.

Thank you!! Perhaps not having a scent item and having to get one from Mom had me believeing/forgetting of these initial searches....I wonder if she brought something with her on Monday evening?

But it still doesn't speak to starting at dad's place to pick up scent; that is what is confusing me...

the article also says:

The search-and-rescue team is on standby Wednesday in case new leads are developed that could direct them to new search areas. Investigators are also retracing Dylan’s route from Colorado Springs to Durango and places he may have visited after his arrival.

BBM

As to what "those cute noses were following", I have no clue....

:banghead::banghead:

That is an interesting statement by investigators if true.

Dad could have told Dylan they were going to do some fishing while he was visiting and that he bought him a new pole or that his old pole was still there....

LE normally asks if anything is missing (along with the person) and dad may have said, yeah, his fishing pole.....

How does it make sense? The pole they found at the lake has been ruled out. It didn't belong to Dylan.

You know I really can buy the scenario of Dylan having left out on foot, with his backpack(and all its contents) in tow..possibly irritated with dad for not taking him at 630am to the friends(regardless of whether he had a valid reason to feel this way or not).. I can buy that complete scenario, no problem..

What further IMO lends credence to this scenario is that we have a postman who knows Dylan and believes that he actually saw Dylan, with his black backpack walking on foot on Monday.. But here goes the major issue for me..

To believe that the walking to friends with backpack in tow is true..then IMO it makes it IMO extremely likely that the postman's account of seeing Dylan walking is true as well..IMO much much more likely that the postman's acct is true...and if the postman's acct is true...

Well then we have to believe that not only was Dylan walking along the road SO TOO WAS ANOTHER YOUNG MALE WALKING ASIDE HIM ON THE ROAD AS WELL... so where do you go from there??

Again I end up with two totally different possibilities...
A) the entire walking scenario is just not true and the postman was mistaken(moo is likely)

Or what IMO is much much more UNLIKELY but nonetheless some of us have broached earlier..

B) the walking on foot scenario is true..the postman's acct is true and Dylan was with a "friend" walking at some point on Monday...

Several of us have discussed the strange initial reaction we had to the friends statement made publicly near the beginning of the case.. He stated it was the friends belief that Dylan left his dads on foot to hitch a ride to get to his friends..and that it was at that point SOMEONE TOOK HIM..

Again not making any accusations here, but rather attempting TO LOOK AT ALL POSSIBILITIES and it cannot be denied that there were those of us that were immediately taken aback at IMO the strange direction and scenario that his friends were stating they believed to have happened to Dylan..odd IMO..odd...just saying..not accusing..

Smooth Operator....I love to read your posts. You put so many things into prospective and do it so eloquently! I like these two scenarios's. What if Dylan did leave his Dad's house on foot with his phone and stuff in his backpack and the mailman is correct? Here are my questions.

1. If the mailman recognized Dylan after he has been gone for 6 months or so, and did not recognize the second young man.....that tells me the "friend" was not a local. If he was from the area I would think the mailman would recognize him as well as Dylan. So I think with this the "friend" is not from this area?

2. How did Dylan communicate with this friend if his cell phone had not been used since 8PM Sunday night? I am assuming Dad had a landline, but how many kids communicate with friends on a landline anymore? Besides, LE would know who he called by now if he had used the landline. I think??

3. If this friend was one of the boys coming up with the scenario of hitchhicking, as visable as they have been in the media I would think the mailman would have recognized him. I am sure LE has a description of the other young man with Dylan. If he gave it to LE, they certainly would be able to whiddle it down to a "known" friend. This is a small tightknit community I think. So the big question here is "WHO" is the friend?

If Dylan had been alone when the mailman saw him, I could totally agree that he walked off and fell, got hit by a car accidentally or someone picked him up. But since he wasn't alone, I am leaning toward this scenario being a mistake in identity. But on the other hand, if it wasn't Dylan, surely the two boys who were walking in the neighborhood that day would have come forward by now.

I tend to agree with you on the A scenario. The mailman is incorrect and something else happened to Dylan. Remember the Gail Palmgren case? She left her house after a fight with her husband (who had a girlfriend) and was never seen again. Everyone thought her husband was to blame for harming her because his actions were so strange, but then when the foilage fell off the trees in winter, they found her car had run off the road over a cliff? If you cannot see an SUV that fell over a cliff, a small boy would be hard to see also.

I really can see some accident happening to Dylan while he was outside and he just hasn't been found yet.

I am still on the fence with this one. I think the Dad's actions are very strange and the one thing I find the most concerning is NO activity on the phone after 8PM Sunday. That just isn't "NORMAL". Hope this young man is found soon.

So where is that missing pole? The one they found at the lake wasn't Dylan's.

Is there a handy dandy map of the pls, the lake, etc somewhere?

BBM - do we know this either, though? This is what got me thinking earlier that maybe Dylan left a note and tried to go it on his own to get to his friend's house when he realized he missed his ride with his dad. IMO his dad might've assumed Dylan already knew he was gone running errands if they'd talked about it the night before or something - i.e. "be ready by XYZ time, or I'll be back after my errands/appointments to take you to your friend's house."

I'm admittedly 5-6 pages behind again (shame on me for leaving for an hour or two!), but do we know Dylan packed all his things? Or that he ever unpacked them, assuming he got to his dad's house? I'm also not sure we've heard definitively whether both of them left without any words, discussion the night before, notes from either of them, etc. IMO it's possible there might've been things like notes that aren't being talked about in the media.

If Dylan had left a note, we would have heard about it. IMO The whole mystery is that Dad came home and found nothing, no sign of Dylan. Wouldn't he have said " Dyan left a note saying he was catching a ride with a friend' ?

He wouldnt be making such a big deal about the missing fishing pole if Dylan had left a note, imo.

Something just dawned on me....
We are all wondering what plans Dylan had with his friends for him to be meeting them at 0630 hrs? Well, remember I was pondering over that map and said how far out of the way Dad would have to drive, how they would have to plan to leave early especially if he had set appt times....that makes TOTAL sense. Its not what the boys had planned, its the fact that Dad was going to drop him off on his way to errands, that is why 0630 hrs is the magic number, he would have to have time to drive to Durango for his appt's. That now makes total sense, finally something that clicks and makes sense....IMHO

Apparently, Dad is still saying it is missing.

Below is a quote stating that DAD WAS GOING TO GIVE DYLAN RIDE TO FRIENDS BEFORE GOING ON ERRANDS..but that Dylan would not wake up...
This is the first I have seen that the dad actually acknowledged not only k.owing about the early morning plans that Dylan had with his friends, but even more importantly that he intended to give him a ride to his friends...BUT THAT DYLAN WOULD NOT GET UP..
Mark Redwine said he was going to give Dylan a ride to his friends’ house and tried to wake him up when he left Monday morning but said Dylan was “out like a light.”

Considering dad left for his errands at 7:30 am without dropping him off, I don't follow.

THAT ^^^ is what I have always thought, but didnt know how to explain it well. I have always thought that when Dad said he couldn't go over there that night, Dylan said then how about in the morning? And Dad said ' I have an appt at 8, so I'd have to take you early..' OKAY, take me early... So he tells his friends he will be dropped off at 6:30. And remember that one friend said they thought that Dylan's dad was dropping him off, but he never showed up?

I wonder if LE knows if messages were left for Dylan on his phone from his friends that morning? Is that possible to know?
