Why do we have nothing said in this case about Cell pings?
Dylans or Dads.

We do know dylans went off the radar ar 8 pm sunday but what about dads?

Hm. Dad did say they took some things from the house, but didn't identify what. I can think of at least one case where cells were taken as part of the SW execution. That wouldn't help with pings, but it seems it'd be reasonable that LE at some point has had possession of dad's phone to examine data, including the texts he sent Dylan, Elaine, etc. Just a thought that came to me while reading your post.

It would be great to have more info abt both of their cells. As someone else brought up, in some cases, they have released info abt the missing's phone with a pic of it or a similar model, in case someone comes across it. I was wondering the other day if it was thrown in the lake, are there any aquatic metal detectors that could help locate it, or might there be too many false hits with various lake debris? Guess it'd depend on if such a tool exists, its sensitivity, and how clean the lake is, meaning we've dove in some large ponds with very little trash and a lake that's littered with it. :dunno:

I figure Dylan would have contacted his friends Saturday evening immediately after his flight got cancelled to let them know he would be arriving the following day. He wouldn't wait until he arrived at his dad's to notify his friends imo, he would have contacted them before he left CO.

ER communicated with her son at 7:06 pm, an hour before his the cell phone was shut off so if Dylan texted his friends from his mom's, he didn't really need to text them when he arrived at his dad's. jmo

Didn't need to? Of course not. But his mother said he's a prolific texter. I have a prolific texter. There is no way anyone could ever convince me Dylan didn't communicate with anyone via text Monday morning because he simply didn't need to.

I would lay money on them already having all ping details on both Dad and Dylan's phones. Perhaps this is another thing drawing them to the lake?

There is a reason they are focused on that lake. And yes there is a dam there and the area where the cadaver dogs hit was at the dam if I'm not mistaken. There has been much debate about whether or not scent dogs (not cadaver dogs) were used and from what I read yesterday, yes tracking bloodhounds were brought in. They keep going back to that lake for a reason. Remember they are probably not releasing every bit of info they have to us-Joe public.

And a missing fishing rod, too....... things that make you go Hmmmmmmm

LE probably doesn't think giving this info to the public would benefit their investigation.

Thats the thing that is great in today's time. So many nowadays have digital cameras and carry them with them often and are always taking pictures of something lol. I have been on vaca with my hubby and even riding down the road I will take pics of cars trucks etc passing by or scenery or I make a video. Plus most people have phones now that takes photos.

When we lived in a rural area we had driveway cams so we could see the road and who was comming down our drive I wonder if the ppl out there put them up!

It is "typical" in most missing child cases (esp. abduction cases) for LE to give (at minimum) a press conference and basic information about the victim, last seen/wearing/identifying info/medical risk factors/etc.
That being said, I will add that not every case garner's this attention, but most do...UNLESS:
LE doesn't require tips from the public at this time because they have an offender in their sights. (LE is still required to conduct a thorough investigation for the DA to rule in/out, that all other possibilities have been examined and exhausted)

I also believe LE didn't start out in this direction and that's why they have not convened a press conference/release of information. I continue to hope they will soon.

We covered in Thread 8 that LE does sometimes release results of polys, as they did in Bianca Jones' case. Link in that thread.

The task force in this case has chosen not to release results to date. They may or may not choose to do so in the future, depending on how the investigation proceeds, IMO.

LE has already responded in this case and are not going to divulge who took polys nor the results. I do not think that position will change. I think they are one of the jurisdictions that do not release this kind of info, imo.

Its actually rare imo that LE releases results or who has taken them. It does happen but not often. Most of the time we learn about polys from the people who took them and tell the media the results which is usually never verified by LE.

He specifically came back Nov. 17 to pick up Dylan at the airport. But Redwine said there had been some mechanical problem with the plane, so Dylan's mother rescheduled for Dylan to fly in Sunday evening.

So they believe Dylan may have got up the next morning and decided to go fishing before Dad got home. Perhaps they have a possible POI and their cell phone pinged at the lake. Trust me, they know more then they are telling us.

I thought the same thing.
I think (JMO) He purchased a fishing pole also. And this COULD be why we dont see him in the Walmart pic because LE dosent want to release that info.

And I think the cell pinged at the lake too!
Only at an earlier time.

I think dylan would have been online talking to his friends IF his phone was dead.

I dont think my son would survive a night without a phone or a computer.
They never go anywhere without a charger.
We have them in the cars in our bags their school backpacks.
They charge them when they sleep but the phone is on because god forbid they miss a text.
I just cant understand what happend to his phone!
Well I do have an idea but ......

As the mom if a 14 year old son, he does anything I ask of him. His behavior is stellar, chores get done right and on time! And you know why? Why? Because I will take the phone, ipad and Xbox, virtually cutting him off from his friends.

The phone is the lifeblood of 99% of teens today.

If Dylan was physically able, the first thing he'd do when he woke up.... TEXT his friends! IMO

His mother, like myself could always reach him when she texted or called.... Because she'd take the phone if he didn't respond. It's the same here and like her .... It's the only reason I pay the bill and he has one. So I can reach him or he can contact me if plans change while he's out. I need to know where he is.

That's exactly why I said it was "typical" in most cases, but this one wasn't perceived immediately as an abduction, but only abduction as a "possibility", along with running away, drowning, etc. so not enough to cause a press release and draw attention like most of these cases do on day one. It might just be my perception of the case, but I think this actually lost the investigation a week's time....which also accounts for no press conf/release from LE in the beginning...they still weren't exactly sure what they had :banghead:
JMO and speculations about the strange LE response in this case.

:sigh: Regarding bolded portion, this isn't accurate. It's been quoted and linked several times. LE has confirmed dad and mom took polys.

Both parties took a polygraph early on in the investigation, Shupe said, but authorities cannot release results.
