From some of the joke emails i get. It appears many really don't dress for Walmart. Sorry i couldn't resist :floorlaugh:

Since I have moved from Dallas to E. Tex I have found those email pictures to be true. lol And I totally understand. lol Just kidding but it is really a relaxed atmosphere here.

Because Dylan didn't call her like she said he always did?

I think that was totally different. She knew he was with Dad. It's different when your kids may be with friends and go here and there. Especially when no adult supervision.

so the plan was baseball, somehow I can't see anyone trying to play basball with a fishing pole

hmmm

Just jumping off your post...

I wonder if Dylan had his baseball glove in his backpack..

I know that some equipment can be used interchangeably.. But a glove is usually broken in "just right" for a player used to playing often... As it seems Dylan was...

Don't know if this could even mean anything... But it is just a thought...

People have commented that there hasn't been any friend/family support of MR, but if you scroll to the bottom of the article here, there are 2 comments. Possibly from relatives.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
If they are actually family,it doesn't sound
like they're terribly close, does it?

Wanted to pause a minute & post some thoughts about what I think may be going on behind the scenes in the investigation. Apologize if someone else has touched on this but I have gotten so far behind with the fast moving threads.....

We know LE needs to account for why a teen who is known to text almost nonstop while awake, suddenly stopped after 8pm Sunday & never again after that.

- So surely LE is combing over Dylan's past cell phone records to see if there has EVER been a time previously when that has happened - more than 12 hrs of no texting & no response to his friends

Did Dylan ever hitchhike or attempt to walk long distances to see his friends? Was that something he did on his previous visit to his Dad in September?

- Surely LE is interviewing anyone & everyone who has spent time with Dylan while he was away from authority figures in his life and asking them the who, what, when, where of the hitchhiking issue (since his mother indicates it is something he agreed he wouldn't do)Maybe it was something he was known to do away from the supervision of his Mom

Did Dylan like to fish or was he known to fish - especially, had he EVER ventured off to fish alone in the past?

- If the answer is no, then LE will likely discard the idea that, for the first time in his life, he decided to go fishing alone when he knew Dad would be coming back in a few hours to take him to see his friends

-If the answer is yes, he has gone fishing alone before, could explain why they have focused, and refocused on the lakes

Just a few things to consider, I am quite sure this complex investigation has LE headed down lot's of paths. I feel for them. A two inch thick folder of leads to track down.

Nothing to worry about probably. It's a newspaper's site right?
Norton and Mcafee bark about every other site you hit. IMHO
its' to make you think they are actually doing something and
worth the 50 $ a year you pay . :)

I cant remeber the last time i had a warning pop up like that. And i am on my lappy every day. Really surprised me.

When I was talking to hubby I remembered something. At both my house and at my parents, we have one wall plug that operates only if the light switch is in on position. Several times my grandkids or I have plugged something into one of those sockets, expecting to have our phones/DS's, charged, only to flip off the switch to turn out the light and wake up to a DEAD phone/DS. It's happened twice at my mom's. Phones don't ping when the batteries are dead. If he had his one it was drawing power from the battery while looking for service. It sucks the life out of the battery. And I can't tell you the convos I've had with people who called me on someone else's cell phone because their battery died or called on their own and made it quick because they were going to have a dead battery momentarily.

To me the airport/Wal-Mart pics prove that MR was not lying. He was telling the truth. For a week, we doubted if his account of airport and Wal-Mart were true. We've demanded proof of these statements. We've asked over and over again where the photos are of Dylan at the airport and Wal-Mart. Well, now we have them. What Mark said they did was true. Who thinks Mark took Dylan with him to Wal-Mart to buy a kill kit??? Not I. JMO. I'm sure there are receipts around that will prove what he bought that night, maybe even a black Nike t-shirt. Maybe.

I wonder if anyone local to the area happened to leave town that Monday. And also, was his home located any where near to where a vacationer may have passed near by in their travels?

I have been interested in this from the beginning...

and I am wondering if that is why LE are still asking for "recreational" footage of the areas surrounding Vallecito Reservoir?....

Which makes me wonder why Dad thinks he may have left with a fishing pole. If they made a plan for the a.m. would there not be some discussion about what Dylan wanted to do with his friends? Would it not be reasonable that conversation may be a bit awkward due to little prior contact that plans wouldn't be discussed?

I don't use Nortons or McAfee (both are a waste of money) and I rarely get trojan horse warnings, In over a decade I've probably only had 3 or 4.

Lotus, thank you for the laugh!

I'm not gonna lie... when I first saw the story 'Belize Police Searching for Antivirus Pioneer / Tech Titan Paranoid Man on The Run' I couldn't decide whether to read the blog he'd started (while in hiding) or immediately switch my software to Norton.

(I read the blog)

If Dylan slept in his dad's house the first night there, it seems like his scent would have been on the sofa and any bedding he used, on the TV remote or button, on the cereal box and bowl, and both saliva and scent from hands on the spoon. His scent should have been in the bathroom, on the water faucets, on any towels he used, on the fridge door handle and any other door handles for rooms he went in. If he went bareboot on the floor, his scent should be on the floor too. Couldn't the dogs pick up his scent in many places in the house and followed it outside and wherever it went from there? (Unless someone carried him outside.)

How many people knew that Dylan was visiting his dad and that he was there alone while is dad was running errands. Did his dad happen to mention that to anyone (who could have been a predator), telling the person about when he was going back to get Dylan? Hearing that information, a predator could have gone to the house and told Dylan that his dad had sent him to drive him to his friend's house because his dad was delayed coming back. If Dylan got bored and went outside to wander around a bit, could he have been shot by accident by a hunter who hid the body to avoid getting in trouble? Do people have and ride horses in that area? Could someone have offered to give him a lift by horseback to a friend's home that was only a few miles away, saying he was going that way anyway? Is Dylan's dad's house close to the road? Could someone have stopped in a car or truck and offered to drive him into town where his friends live?

Was it usual for Dylan's dad to keep the house locked or leave it unlocked? Did Dylan have a key to the house? Was the house unlocked when his dad came back and found Dylan missing? Does the area have any open wells or pits that Dylan might not have seen and could have fallen into? Did Dylan have a bicycle at his dad's house that was in working order? If so, was it still there? It seems unlikely that Dylan would have taken his fishing pole and walked all the way to the lake by himself to fish, and he would need some bait too, and a bucket to put any fish in that he caught, if he doesn't let them go again. And swimming alone wouldn't be a lot of fun either. How hot was it in that area that day? Was Dylan independent and did he like to go places by himself? Or did he usually go with one or more friends or an adult? Are there poisonous snakes in the area if he decided to take a hike alone?

I think all children and teens who go on a visit away from home without an adult escort should wear a working GPS device for safety. I believe you can buy ones that look like a wrist watch. I know a woman who has quite a bit of land and she has a GPS collar on her dog that lets her know where the dog is at any time. She can check on her computer or her smart phone to get its location. Why not do the same with our kids?

Its hard to understand how kids can just disappear from home, the neighborhood, their school, etc. and many never to be seen again. It makes me want a GPS chip put in every baby at birth! I sure hope that Dylan is still alive and that he will be found and brought home real soon. This must be a horrible nightmare for his family and all those who know him and care about him. Have helicopters or small airplanes been used in the search?

I also got a warning from my anti-virus, Avast Internet Security. That rarely happens, so it's possible that a virus has infected the site. I hope no one gets a virus from opening the page, though.

Dylan possibly taking the fishing pole makes more sense if he was leaving for two days, which I believe has been stated.

SBM

IIRC, someone posted very early on that the dogs require something that only Dylan's scent would be on. I think that any scent on the sofa/cereal box/spoons/etc would have also carried his dad's scent (or anyone else who had been in the house), and so the dogs would not be able to reliably follow the correct scent. I'm happy to be corrected on this, I don't have anything to back this up with, I just remember reading it in all the previous discussions about why scent dogs weren't brought in at the very beginning.

Who me? I will deny it forevah! (wink wink)

Sorry for the OT but we need a break sometime from all these tragic cases we discuss.

IMO

I so agree, OceanBlueEyes!

Just looking at the weather history for the area and I have to wonder if Dylan had any warm clothing packed in his backpack or a jacket/hoodie? These are the temperatures I'm getting for the time period in question on November 19th when he would have left the house and I can't imagine a pair of shorts and a t-shirt would have seemed like the proper thing to be wearing if he did in fact decide to go fishing or try to get to his friend's house...

8:53 AM

2.2 °C / 35.96 F

9:53 AM

5.6 °C / 42.08 F

10:53 AM

Now these temps are for Durango, would it be warmer in Vallecito?
