I apologize, I haven't been following all of the posts here lately. Does Dylan appear to have been crying in this Walmart photo? The airport one, his face is a normal skin tone, but in this one he appears pink and swollen? Perhaps it's the enlargement resolution? MOO

Yes, everyone seems to see the red spots, some think it's solely due to the camera/photo quality, for some the jury's still out on that, and some have discussed it looks like he could've been crying.

No worries! Glad to have you hop onto Dylan's thread. :)

So tough to follow these cases on kids.

Dylan...please come home.

I think he left voluntarily in the AM, and I think he set out on a route with notoriously bad terrain. I don't think he is in the lake. I hope they are retracing any plausible steps in the wilderness. Perhaps some potential 'shortcuts' to his friend's house.

I respectfully disagree

Oh, shef, I know. I feel the same. Each day that passes with no news, no sightings, no nothing....we have a lot of broken hearts here at WS today...

(((hugs)))

------

Has anything been mentioned about how often dad is away for work? I know there is an RV on his property, so was he gone for long, long periods?

And the store/trading post or whatever they show in some of the TV videos (I remember Kevin reporting from the front porch with a sign showing the hours of operation), would Dylan past by this place on the way to Bayfield (I would think south since dad's place is literally the end of the road)? How far from his dad's?

Sorry was going to post the picture I had of the google search that shows the distance from Walmart(the actual location) to the McDonalds...can't figure out how to post it...It was shared before, but the way that Google maps shows it in the previous share was not right at all! It is much further away about 5 miles from Walmart actually...instead of what appeared to be right around the corner....and this McDonalds is very close to alot of down town activity.

Physical and verbal abusers are quite sociable and you would never in a million years know of their abuse behind closed doors. In fact most are quite charming and the life of the party.

Ask any phychologist.

My hubby has a horrible temper! Not physically violent, but omg! His mouth gets unbelievable!
All of our friends and family thinks he's mr. Mellow.
He never exposes that ugly side to anybody but me.
I hope.....

...he has "displayed amazing control." To me, that is fearful. Enough said.

Every single time I see a parent of a missing child doing interviews and in the media, I wonder how they can be so controlled. I can't even imagine that I would be capable of standing! Control? Nah...it's always about desperation and trying to communicate what they want the public to know. Theyre not professionals, probably the first time in their lives a tv camera is in their face. they are a parent suffering during the most traumatic & Horrific time of their lives. IMO

I think that if a parent of a missing child lashed out and screamed at reporters, I would be in total sympathy. It is rather surprising to me that we don't see that all the time, really.

R****, 13, a friend of Dylan’s said in an interview Saturday with The Durango Herald that Dylan originally was going to Bayfield to visit his friends Sunday night but then changed that to meet them early Monday morning.

http://durangoherald.com/article/20...2/Dylan-Redwine-did-not-run-away-police-say--

That "plan" for the Sunday night meetup was changed once he got to Durango, IMO. The friends knew of the change, IMO

I wish MR would say why Dylan's phone was turned off at 8 pm.

Well, this friend didn't say when Dylan notified his friends about the change in plans so how do you know for sure he changed his plans in Durango?

No one has come forward and said they spoke or heard from Dylan after he arrived in Durango except his mom.

I assume Dylan made these plans in CS so did Dylan change his plans because of the flight delay or was it so he could play baseball with his friends on Monday?

Re-reading some "old" articles, this raises questions again for me:

The next morning, Dylan was sleeping on the couch where Mark Redwine now sits and where Dylan's blankets still lie jumbled. Mark said he waited until 7:30 a.m. but still couldn't rouse his son, so he told him he would return about 11. When he got back at 11:30, his son's dirty cereal bowl was beside the sink. The television was on Nickelodeon. His son's fishing pole was gone. So was his black-and-gray backpack. A few articles of clothing were left behind on the couch.

bbm - I would be interested in hearing mom's (and dad's) take on how typical or atypical this is of Dylan -- is he conscientious of turning the tv off when he's done or is he more forgetful? I know some parents are far more strict about this than others and some kids (and adults!) are much more responsible about turning the TV off when they're done watching or when they go into another room.

If Dylan had the mindset of I'm going to head out to my friends' or hitch hike or go fishing or I have someone picking me up down the road or whatever, he ate his cereal, packed his backpack and left the house.. wouldn't he turn the off? Or for him specifically would it make sense to leave the house under non-urgent circumstances but leave the TV on? When I was 13 if my parents came home to find the TV on and me missing they would go into panic mode.

Because the father already said he told Dylan it was too late to visit friends. Do Dylan had to change his plans after he arrived at Durango. And baseball is wrong also. That was wrong information from Nancy Grace transcript, and should have said Bayfield instead of baseball.

Someone posted earlier today that they felt the word "baseball" was put into the transcripts in error and that this was never mentioned. Anyone know for sure, not that it really matters, really.

I think some family members have to almost dissociate from the reality of what they're experiencing just to function... I'm always surprised that loved ones don't fall ill more often, between poor sleep and constant grief, I'm amazed at the strength people are able to sustain.

Why? Parents of missing children presumably want attention paid to their children so these children can be found. How is lashing out at reporters going to help that?

I think it's clearly an error. If you read the transcript itself, obviously it should say Bayfield.

I can only say I have been that parent...the one whose child is missing. Not everyone is going to act the same. I am fairly controlled in crisis situations but fall apart after. I guess it depends on the make up of the individual.

But...but...there's something there in this case. Can't say more. Besides, I am sad today anyway...
Just wish we could have more happy endings.

If it was a short flight time (which i think it was), MR could have already been on his way to the airport (i think we figured the airport was like an hour away from MR's house)when the flight was supposed to take off on the 17th. and when he got to the airport found out that it had been canceled. JMO

MR apparently has a cell phone and if he carries it with him someone in CS would have been able to notify him as soon as Dylan's flight was rescheduled for the following day. Dylan's mother must have talked to her exhusband over the weekend to confirm his travel arrangements so it seems strange indeed that MR drove to the airport the night before. What's up with that?

MR also has a landline phone and computer with Internet access.

I think the poster meant when the media asks those ridiculous questions everyone knows the answer to. You know, when a reporter asks something like, "how did you feel when you first heard the news your child was dead"? Questions like that makes me wish I was there to snatch the microphone out of the reporters hand and beat him silly with it. Then ask him how that felt!

But...I I didn't t post it. Was just guessing:)
