Well I called them, left message, gave them all the information I could.

Even if it doesn't end up helping Dylan, it's hard to tell how many other kids you might have helped by calling.

hey Katydid, I haven't looked at the map yet...but the property for sale piqued my interest. Can you tell if it is empty? Wonder if it has outbuildings.Wonder if it has one of those lockbox gizmos that records who gets a key out to go in. Could there be a caretaker/lawn service for the property?? If it is vacant, could someone have been casing the place out, to steal Hvac/copper?

Going one further in thinking, wonder if there were any service vehicles in the immediate area that morning, and saw a kid that might need a ride.

Bad people come in all shape and sizes and professions.

Somewhere way back upstream here in the old threads, someone posted a picture of the property for sale from the Realtor website. It is not a very upscale property, and kind of a low priced fixer upper IIRC.

I am not sure if it had a lock box or not. But it does bug me a bit. Mainly because when the house across the street from us was For Sale, sometimes people would come over and speak to me about it if they saw me out front.
And I remember once that some couple starting talking to my DD, who was about 14, and asked her what school she went to and if she liked it there etc.
I wasn't freaked when she told me, because I totally understood where they were coming from. They had school aged kids and wanted to know about the schools etc.

But what if someone saw Dylan that morning? The only thing is I don't understand why they would make him take all of his belongings though.

I just found it strange was all, and remembered reading it to my hubby telling him how strange it was for someone to take out an add in the American Classifieds about this....It didn't even hit me until now that it might be important....I believe the persons name was even mentioned.

Typically, when they have this much LE support from across a large region, they ask LE from all of those areas, School District cops, FBI, CBI, Highway Patrol, Rangers, Fire Fighters, etc, to come and donate their time.

So I don't think they were worried about family being there. There were dozens of LE looking over their shoulders, and MR's ears were probably burning.

Or imagining myself in MR's place as an utterly distraught parent - he could have been walking around with a knot in his stomach, desperate to find something that would lead him to his own missing child - while at the same time dreading that very same find.

this statement was made AFTER the search was over?

Maybe, hopefully a useful clue was found.

:please::please:

Maybe it was mindy's clue?!?!

I don't think they would of let MR be involved at all if they thought he was POI.

I believe the article said that they participated or helped with "search efforts". A large scale search requires some support such as people to answer questions and register searchers at the staging area, minor first aid, keeping searchers supplied with water or snacks, errand runners, etc. I would call it "helping" even if all family members did was show to encourage and thank searchers!

FYI

Tricia just told me that Marc Klaas will be discussing Dylan's case on her radio show tomorrow night! I am very anxious to hear Marc's take on everything.

Will post a link tomorrow. Too tired and lazy to go grab it tonight. Besides, it will be buried 1,000 posts deep by the time it airs.

I remember the Rodriguez case, sorry I can't think of the little girls name...it was probably 2 years ago, solved very quickly, the neighbor a couple doors down strangled her, her parents were allowed on the search. Maybe it depends on the the local dept., different policies, FBI, parents...??? It seems to be more prevalent for parents not to search. Does anyone know?

I understand the logic behind not letting the parents search in case they find a body. But as a parent I just don't think I couldn't be in the search. I have to say also, with all the rumors flying around about the dad, I thought it showed concern and strength to see him actively participating. Much as he seems suspicious about dylans disappearance, and the community might be wary of him, LE has continued to say he has been cooperating and he participated in today's search.

Thanks beach for the heads up. I can't listen in real time, do people usually post what's discussed here?

Has Ransom checked in? I hope the search was fruitful and we will soon see a resolution. Where are you Dylan?

Returned home safe and sound. Tired but glad we went. Did our best to clear some area that the LE had some concern. Worked with a nice young man from the CBI Denver.

Like I said it seems strange, but it ran for a month, if it is of importance I guess they have the info now.

I feel like the word "blossoming" may not be as optimistic as it sounds; to me it means spreading out, growing larger, which might only happen when nothing smaller or closer to hand is helping very much. Just my interpretation.

I'm sure someone will post an update or transcribe a brief version.

Also, even if you can't listen in real time tomorrow night, you can always listen to the old shows. They are linked on her blogtalk radio page. They usually get posted very quickly - within 30 minutes or so after the live show airs.
