hey Katydid, I haven't looked at the map yet...but the property for sale piqued my interest. Can you tell if it is empty? Wonder if it has outbuildings.Wonder if it has one of those lockbox gizmos that records who gets a key out to go in. Could there be a caretaker/lawn service for the property?? If it is vacant, could someone have been casing the place out, to steal Hvac/copper?

Going one further in thinking, wonder if there were any service vehicles in the immediate area that morning, and saw a kid that might need a ride.

Bad people come in all shape and sizes and professions.

We have issues out where I live with homeless taking over abandoned / vacated homes. It can be kinda scary because we might not realize someone is living there, and we allow our kids out to play not knowing.

all the scanner folks was hoping you weren't the searcher that was "lost"...

when you have some free time, and not tired, you may want to take a peek downstairs to see how we did....LOL

Lol. No, we didn't get lost. I'm not surprised that some just wandered off by themselves even though everyone had to have an LE "type" with them. Some folks just don't listen.

I'll go check downstairs. I knew you guys were "on it" and probably knew more of what was going on than I did. I was in the boonies, hiking and moving downed trees and went through an amazing amount of leaf litter. The altitude got to our Denver guy. I don't think he was that use to the 7-8000'.

You're a rock star Ransom.
Thank you for going ! :)

ROCK (lol) being the operative word since we are in the Rocky Mountains. Lots and lots of rock and loose gravel and boulders. I don't how anyone would dig in that to bury anything? Did I mention rocks? Yes ... lots of those. Easy to twist and ankle, but we all got down safe and sound. Looking forward to a looooooooong hot bath/soak.

blossomed is such a strange word for LE to use

I agree... Blossomed is not a term I remember reading/hearing from LE in reference to a missing person's case...

Well I didn't get to see the ad,,,,,,due to a modsnip! :P so I was
just speculating by what other 's comments were !

Are you saying it is like they were ' outing ' some pervert they knew ? Like
shaming him publicly ?

Yes I am saying that.

Among the organizations that added their support for Saturday’s search were Sheriff’s Office officers and mounted patrol, La Plata County Office of Emergency Management, La Plata County Search and Rescue, County Manager Joe Kerby and other county departments, Durango Fire & Rescue Authority, Durango Police Department, the FBI, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado State Patrol, Durango Transit, Bayfield School District, the Southwest Colorado Chapter of the American Red Cross and others, Phippen said.

That is certainly an extensive list of organizations...

They mentioned Sheriff's Office and Mounted Patrol...

Does Mounted Patrol refer to horses.... And did anyone see photos of horses being used in today's search?

TIA

I thought it referred to a Dodge Durango, which is a truck or SUV, rather than a perp who is in Durango, CO. Regardless, it needs to be reported to LE, so thanks for doing that.

It was referring to an SUV, but we are close to Durango(why I thought it could be worth at least mentioning to LE in Durango). As I said we are all somewhat interconnected in this area, people from Durango work in our area, and people from our area go to Durango, often even on a daily basis...many teachers do this, as well as oilfield, truck drivers, and who knows who else. This was Farmington, so not that far away really.

They said they were requesting horses and ATVs, so I believe they did use them at some point.

Lots and lots. Rough terrain and high altitude, but we are use to the altitude at least. Wish we could have done more. We'll all go back, if they need us.

Thank you ransom!!!! Great thing you did today!!!

Well, my dog is ready for bed (LOL, I am too!). It's been another long day without Dylan but am praying for a break in his case.

Once again, thanks for all those SEARCHERS!!!

Thanks everyone for letting me help with the scanner thread, and a huge thanks for everyone who searched today! Hoping for some news tomorrow! Where are you Dylan?

I don't think they would of let MR be involved at all if they thought he was POI.

They might if they were looking for "tells". JMO

It's really hard for people to understand how much the communities in our area of NM, CO work. Often many from CO are in NM for work, or vise versa. The person that lives across the street from me works between Durango and Valecito, and my husband works in CO alot but we live in NM. This being said this isn't some tiny community we are really looking at...it is ALOT of tiny communities....as there are so many people that travel threw both states every single day!

Not sure this is one, it seems that they know alot about the people(like a personal relationship or something), and that they are wanting people to be aware of them being the kind of people they are.

I googled the cell phone number and found another ad....can't see when it was posted though. It ran in the Farmington, NM area. Another really strange ad :(
