That's an interesting point. LE could even tell MR that they "think" searchers found something important, such as the phone or backpack, to judge his reactions or get him to break, so to speak. (similar to what FLE did to CA when it was announced that Caylee's remains were found.)
moo

Exactly.

OT: Everybody I knew who had IPhones kept trying to get me to switch over from my trusty Blackberry (I only had to replace it once in 3 years). I swear they were like a cult! Then I finally got an Iphone this year, got addicted to it 3 months in, and now it doesn't want to behave. It's all a trap orchestrated by Apple, I swear!

I still have my trusty blackberry. Both my apple-using kids laugh at it. I am clinging to it though.

Yes... I also think the, government should hire TXJan to organize and balance the budget... she'd have it done by yesterday! Tee! Hee!

(I am NOT trying to get political... And am NOT being partisan...just making,a generic joke...:blushing:)

LOL
I just updated it again and incorporated/included CONFUSION's suggestions. Anyone else have anything to add/modify, let me know! Thanks for everyone's help. I'm hopeful it will help out Tricia/Beach, etc.

Did you ever forget something?

Sure, but never the cell phone.

But the real point is, he did have his charger. So even if he did forget to charge it or of it was dead, he could have plugged it in that morning and used it or found the necessary numbers and used the landline.

I have something to add here- you are amazing, and I'd like you to go to my son's college and modify all of his notes before final exams...:)

Why would she forget to charge his phone when she is worried about him spending time with his father ??

She clearly wanted to be able to reach him at all times so forgetting something like that is a no-no!

If they wanted to watch him, it would have been easier to do back at the search HQ - they could ask him (and ER) to be around in case they found something and wanted verification that it belonged to Dylan or not. IMHO of course.

Of course if MR is NOT a suspect and this was an abduction, then any of the other searchers involved could have been the perp and compromised evidence. I don't think it matters much if MR searched or not. At least if he is a suspect, they know how closely to watch him. kwim?

Whew, finally caught up. Thank you for the timelines Confusion and TxJan1971. Great work by both of you ladies.

So much in this case is speculation. We do not know for sure Dylan did not want to go visit his father. Had the comment come from his father's sister instead of his mother's sister, I would believe it, but I've found in divorces, you are going to support your siblings and their stories.

We don't know that Mark lost his temper with Dylan that night (Sunday).

We do not know that he threw Dylan's phone out the window.

All this and much more is speculation. None of it has been proven. JMO

Understood but my point is that no one, even a great mother, is infallible.

If ER was the one who kept DR's phone charged, then maybe DR never paid any attention to his phone's battery. (Kind of like if a mom picks up after her kids, they never really learn to pick up after themselves.) He may not have noticed his battery being gone until it was too late. Unfortunately we don't know exactly what happened.

very nice work. But, is it clear if DR was awake or asleep when MR left to do errands? Do we know for sure if DR was "out like a light" the whole time, or at some point did he wake up enough to tell MR he wanted to sleep and acknowledged MR would be back at 11:30?

Sorry, just playing catch up. Just wanted to clarify that on my timeline, I just incorporated Confusion's suggestions, and I only cite what was obtained from news sources (i.e. MSM, etc.). If I thought it was signicant to the case, I included the exact verbiage/statement(s) as well as the citation. Doesn't matter whether it may or may not have really happened - basically the outline is more of a who said/did what/when/where/why/how, etc. as reported (i.e. MSM, or even Facebook - Find Dylan Redwine or even including Nancy Grace interviews, etc.) Just clarifying for WS folks sake...

Isn't it possible that she did send him with a charged phone, but he ran the battery down on the way to the airport, waiting to board and while on the plane? There may have been just enough charge left to send and receive a few text messages in a lousy reception area. I'd be interested in knowing if he tried making any calls or sent any texts from the plane (if that's even possible. I don't know much about cell phones). I also wonder if anyone on the plane and/or in the airport noticed him playing games on his phone for an extended time.

I understand what you are saying. It is just that with hundreds of thousands of teens going missing every year, not all of them are ever even looked at as potential victims of familial child abuse. I bet they don't search all of the homes or intensely interrogate all of the family members either. Some are probably barely investigated. jmo I think it would be easy to just wait a couple of days and then go fill out a missing persons report on a teen, and say they left with their backpack early one morning. Unless there were some witnesses to say otherwise, LE probably wouldnt blink an eye.

Yes, but presumably the body shows up at least some percent of the time, making it a homicide investigation. and in the case of non- custodial parents, there is at least a removed parent advocating for an investigation.

I'm just saying that one thing working in my head is just that we so rarely see a non-custodial father disappear a teen on visitation without having overtly flipped his lid. I do believe that the older a child gets, the less likely they are to fall victim to homicide by a parent, too.

It can happen, but I think it's probably nearly as statistically probable as a stranger abduction. Sadly I think ages 9-12 is at an increase risk of strangers and a decrease of parents (compared to the under 5 crowd). And that means absolutely zero about what happened in this case- I get that.

I just find it interesting that there are so few cases of non-custodial parents disappearing a young teen while staying behind and playing innocent. It's not as easily to throw in the pile of averages or so it seems to me.

Red by me: escape from WHAT? That is a very odd statement IMO. Sorry if this has been discussed a lot already, I'm still catching up.

Since they think he may have been abducted I would think they are talking about escaping from the person who took him illegally.

IMO

If it is a old phone with no 3G or Internet then them phone battery's could last days on 1 charge .

Has it been stated that it's an old phone with no 3G or internet? I know it's been said it was a flip style and sounded like it was wearing out, but I haven't heard any more about i.

Mom said it was an old flip phone

The battery is great when you are not "searching for service"; searching drains it quickly
ETA: from the old person with the ancient, out of style phone who lives in the woods :)
