Well, in the case of a six year old, father was in prison for previously abusing her. So he had a pretty good alibi. Boyfriend also had an alibi since he worked the night shift. The guy that is charged isn't exactly a stranger either-he was the husband of child's babysitter.

Of course, it was used as a example that sex offenders are not always registered, not comparing to Dylan's case. (eta- and we didn't know rape until after arrest, so outside looking in it could have been abuse)

I don't think many people have said they think it had to be a stranger involved in Dylan's disappearance. There are a lot of people in the area who are not his father and not a stranger, and there probably are a lot who are strangers. I personally just don't feel that with all of the people who could have been involved, MR is the only one who makes sense. MOO

You guys NEED to call in. I've seen so many great questions posted on these threads. This is a good chance to ask Marc Klaas yourselves.

Last Tricia told me, Dylan's case w/ Marc discussing will be the 2nd half hour. Those things change sometimes so you probably want to tune in early when the show starts so you don't miss anything.

The show starts in 25 minutes! 8pm est / 7pm cst / 6pm mst / 5pm pst

Darn it. I was hoping iphones were immune to that, because my daughter has managed to kill smartphones, dumbphones, and every kind of phone due to excessive use - including excessive use of the charger.

Not immune, but mine was a first-gen iPhone that I used from when it was new (first came out) until late last (2011) August, and I had never had a problem with it up until that night that it failed to charge...and that was after I'd dropped the poor thing repeatedly and even let it get soaked in the rain once when I forgot my umbrella and ran across the parking lot in a downpour, clutching it under my (non-waterproof) shirt. And I probably overused the charger because until recently I didn't even know that that was possible. :p

Because they haven't ruled out anyone, including MR. That doesn't mean they believe he's guilty, but it also doesn't mean they're 100% sure he's not. MOO

I know that and I appreciate that can take time and their inability to rule anyone out doesn't cost too much time. I know they're working very hard and hope their strategy is successful.

It's the statement that abduction is exactly what LE thinks has happened is what I haven't heard before and is new. And yeah, LE does play games with their suspects.

But it is not a quote and we don't know that it is new. The news source is out of ABQ and has not been writing about the story daily, like a CO source might be. They just compiled some info, and apparently, some of it via the NG show, IMO.

It already has. It has been 3 weeks.

The biggest cost of time to me is the 8 days between saying they believe it was a criminal case (day 2, LE said) and the complete search of the home (day 10 I believe.) That borders on incompetence to me.

My child who is Dylan's age hasn't had her phone charged since Friday, since I help make sure it's charged before school on weekdays. She texts a fair amount on a monthly basis, but she is out of sight of mind with her cell phone. My child a bit older always has it charged and ready to go.

I am not even sure what to make of the phone not being on.

I guess it al depends upon Dylans routine. His mom said he was a 'prolific' texter. And your DD was home with you in her regular routine. But I bet if she was off, 7 hours away, she would probably have her cell charged up and in use. jmo

JMO, but all the excuses, explanations, reasoning, theories, coincidences and "I woulda done this or that's" that have been thrown out here in defense of MR mean only one thing to me...this guy has to be the unluckiest dude on the face of the earth. I mean really? One or two things can be explained, possibly, but to have an entire list of "coincidences" come together on the day your son turns up missing? The fates of the God's must be frowning on him big time.

ITA with your points made above and will just expound on this a teeny bit further in that especially at this point in time(and IMO from here on out will only be greater) there can be one tetrazillion different excuses created, formed, and custom molded to "explain away" the many different issues of concern WRT Mark Redwine's possible involvement in his son's disappearance(IMO realistically quite likely murder)..

And those catrillion different excuses are part of what its all about in the extremely thorough discussions that take place here..

At this present point in time as I said ITA with NCAnalyzer's above thoughts, views, and opinions and am comfortable(unfortunately for lack of a better word at this moment to describe my present position or frame of mind so to speak) in what I have thus far purposed, theorized, and given as my opinion on what I see(at this time, with what is known) as being the most probable of what/who is responsible for Dylan no longer being here..

Fortunately I'm not one who suffers from tunnel vision and am always prepared as each new detail, piece of information, or situation arises concerning this case, I will look at it first in and of itself without bias or without any other pieces of the proverbial puzzle.. as will I also look at it as an addition to the pieces we already have and what it means in looking at the picture as a whole(ie. the big picture)..

and if warranted I can and will change my opinion, the direction in which I may be focusing on at that time, and/or any viewpoint I may have previously had prior to having the new information..

But as far as where this case is presently I am comfortable with where I stand and what I have purposed, theorized, and offered as my .02 cents on the matter as we know it and unfortunately or fortunately(dependant on how you look at it) the metazillion morphing explanations and excuses just does not change or somehow negate those issues of major concern to many of us..jmo.

Hopefully Dylan will be found soon and very soon.. this above all else is my number one prayer..and that those responsible are exposed, arrested, charged for their crimes, and then swiftly and firmly have justice served on their 🤬🤬🤬 for what they have done in robbing so many of the bright light of Dylan's life from this world.

All jmo, tho and nada damn thing more or less..

Mod Note:

Guys, PLEASE be careful. I see some recent posts that are tiptoeing up to the line. When we okay'd the sleuthing of Mark Redwine we made it very clear that is is okay to specualte, but NOT OKAY to accuse him of any crime. It is all in the opening 3 or 4 posts.

He is still Dylan's father and we don't know anything for certain.

Speculation is okay. Accusations are not okay.

I have a fancy otter box covering my plain white iPhone. It's a dusty pink with grey & white. It's color coordinated to the otterbox on my iPad. :)

Tricia's True Crime Radio Show starts in about 20 minutes. Join us as we discuss Dylan's case, along with the trial in the murder of Abraham Shakespeare (the accused was a member on Websleuths ) and yours truly will be chatting about this week's cold case and who knows what else. I'm feeling rebellious tonight. :kimsterwink:

The link is in my signature line and the chat room is open! See you there when the show starts! :great:

And all those who've not been caught. We recently had a 6 yo child raped and murdered in my community, the man who is awaiting trial was not registered. Made it to 28 without offending or w/o being caught.

And let me tell you, her family had everything going against them in terms of appearing guilty. Her bio dad is in prison for her prior abuse, mom had just recently brought a boyfriend into the home, mom called 911 with her missing- and she was fovery in nearby abandoned house- lots of red flags on the family in general.

Eta- plus LE kept saying that the community did not need to be concerned, which we all took for code word that it was family.

Although the offender was the son of an RSO, and who knows what his childhood was like. It's all so very sad.

Yeah, neither did we, until we'd already burned through several different phones and batteries. The people at Verizon were always so eager to sell us a better, more expensive phone whenever it happened. Finally, one cellphone manufacturer failed to honor the warranty due to misuse, and we found out
that little tidbit of helpful info. Haven't had a problem since.

Setting off to walk or hitch hike just doesn't set well with me.

The main reason I think he could have hitchhiked is that it was mentioned a few times by friends and family. Dylan's friends in Bayfield said that he might have hitchhiked down there, MR seemed to think that he could have done it, and ER specifically said that she talked to Dylan about not hitchhiking, which makes me think that he's either done it in the past or talked about it.

I would like to know if he has hitchhiked before. That's one question I would like the parents to answer. I have a feeling that they may not want to answer it.

In my opinion. Dylan's flight was not on time. Dad is angry and agitated drinks. Gets agitated with dylan when he says he wants to b with friends. They fight on the ride home. Dad grabs the phone and throws it off a bridge in to water or smashes it. They fight. He strikes dylan and dylan dies. Dad gets rid of dylan before they ever get home. He stages the couch and blankets. He covers his tracks with alibis the next day. Time of murder after Walmart and after mcd's. dad has all night to dispose of a body.

You're a braver woman than me! I was afraid to say it. I'm not convinced he planned it, but I sure think it's a possibility.

ETA: I'm not 100% convinced he did anything at all, actually, but if he did...well it may well have been planned, imo. Still hoping that Dylan will magically reappear.

This is where I am, I am not convinced it was MR- but if it were, I am almost more inclined to premeditation. Unless I hear evidence that suggests "heat of the moment" forensics. JMO, but heat of the moment would mean cadaver hits and/or blood and/or skin scrape on the corner of a coffee table. Nail scratch on Dad's arm. Or similar forensics in car. Something. JMO.

Contrary to popular belief, I've not ruled out MR in the court of my own head. ;)

Well I'm lost. LE saying they believe it was an abduction has really thrown a wrench in things. I do believe it's possible they might say this even if they don't really feel this, just to make a possible suspect feel comfortable, relax a little and hopefully slip up. I don't know that that's the case here though. Sadly Dylan may never be found and we may never know. Are there any searches scheduled or talked about for after the snow storm?
