If my spouse is getting drunk and driving with my children in the car, and wouldn't stop because I told/asked him/her to, heck yeah, the children would come first, and LE would be involved.

No kidding! I love my husband dearly but if he was driving drunk with my children in the vehicle you can bet that I'm calling LE & if he's super lucky they will get to him before I do.

Just bouncing off you post :)

Why are the dates of marriage important? i missed something...

is there some speculation on the man she is with now?

I don't think necessarily important but there was some discussion about when these marriages/divorces were happening.
Personally, most families have divorces, marriages, step and half siblings, etc., I don't think its a big deal especially because it really seems from what I can see, Dylan was loved and is missed by everyone in his family.

but surely if it is true then why didn't he take action to at least protect the boys? police might not have been able to arrest but surely they could have given a warning? I know that can happen here.

and if it was an ongoing problem like his eventual complaint made it seem) then not taking any action at the time to protect the kids is negligent IMO

I don't know if the police would give a warning. That may depend on jurisdiction. I would like to think they would, but I can't say for certain.

If they did, since it would just be a warning (no evidence unless the police catch them red-handed, remember) there may not be any formal police records.

So basically - I don't think we can know if MR called the police on ER's behavior unless MR tells us, or local LE confirms that they warned her because "someone" called.

Even if we find this out - that doesn't mean ER was drinking and driving. To the best of our knowledge, she was never arrested, much less convicted, for DUI.

Honestly I think this is probably not really relevant to the case - it's relevant to the various allegations that ER/MR made against one another during a rather bitter divorce but I don't see whether ER drove while intoxicated almost 10 years ago or not playing a part in Dylan's disappearance.

I don't know - I'm waiting on the flow chart!!

Do they even make flow charts anymore??? We need one of those things with pictures and string to tie everyone together.

I think the difference is, you probably wouldn't be calling them 2 years later. :(

The car accident could be possible.

But we need LE to tell us if the tracking dogs even picked up Dylan's scent at Dad's house and where did the scent lead them?

And we need to know that Dylan really did make it to Dad's house Sunday night.

:banghead::banghead:

I agree. I have not seen anything definitive from LE indicating its verified Dylan was anywhere but the airport and the wal mart that night. We only have MR word on that. I wish some surveillance photos had been released of them together at either location, happy, laughing , interacting positively...the later surveillance photo looked like Dylan's face and the crook of his arm were possibly red and he didn't look like that at the airport. I hope that was just the photo quality.

Sadly, I think this started because I said I would like to know when ER & MH married/moved in together. My thinking then was that if it was recent it could have been a trigger for MR but now - well, good grief what a mess.

FTR, My parents split when I was 5. When I was 11 I came home from school to discover that stepmom #3 had hired my bio mom as a live in housekeeper. They had never met and nobody had any idea my mom was back in town prior to that. My dad about died when he came home. He let her stay! Several months later Mom married stepmom's ex husband. When Dad died 6 years him & my mom were engaged.

Poor Dylan. Dysfunctional families freaking suck!

Looks like marriage Elaine & Mark - 10/10/1991 (divorce filed not sure sometime in 2005, but issues still ongoing)

Marriage Mike & D - 10/25/1991 (divorce filed 12/23/2009) Two impartial/suppressed names listed so I'm guessing 2 children

Mark and Elaine were married on Nov 9, 1991

So sorry VASportsmom...... I feel for anyone who has to experience that. Life shouldn't be that way for any child. Some kids of dysfunctional families use the experience to their advantage and do great things, and others, it haunts them for the rest of their life... Just know that there are others who will always care.....

Hugs

BTW, I checked my timeline - no information on dogs scenting at or around MR's home and also checked Tricia's True Crime Radio program Sunday when I thought Marc Klaas stated something about dogs scenting, but he was talking about them scenting at the lake. So I don't have any MSM articles that I'm aware of talking about any dogs at or around MR's home. If anyone knows, let me know so I can update the timeline! TIA

Elaine was married and divorced to/from the man she is with now before she married Mark.

We were speculating how this might have caused emotions/anger to escalate, etc.

My ex sis-in-law is my best friend (I like her much better than the brother she divorced) and she says the only explanation for me is that I watched my parents and figured out exactly what not to do.

YES. YES YES YES

I notice that several of the articles we read are written by "staff" which is really helpful (sarcasm) when I try contacting the source with questions about erroneous facts and vaguely attributed quotes in their articles.

The Durango Herald has a reporter who appears to be on the story consistently and iirc so does 9News-- both have been excellent from the beginning on Dylan. Maybe I'll send an email thanking them for their coverage and ask if they're able to address some of our questions.
??

Oh LotusPawprint..... That would be terrific!

For you...:cupcake: and :cake4u: and

For the record:

I have posted marriage dates for Mark and Elaine and for Mike and Elaine. I will not post about their other marriages. Other people that are not named in MSM are off limits ... to me.

I have never seen anything, at all, to suggest that Mike was ever, ever living in or around La Plata County, Colorado. He has lived in C. Springs for many years and in other northern states before that. To even suggest that he somehow was around during Mark and Elaine's marriage or divorce is not factual, IMO. As far as we all know, Elaine moved to C. Springs this past July 2012 and still resides there.

Good night.

This will be the first place I look when I wake up in the morning and roust my son out of bed.....hoping for news that Dylan has been found and can come home. One way or the other.

Either people skip over posts and don't see it or new ones come in and don't read past posts or they don't want to accept the explanation.

ETA: Or they are posting and trying to get back to where they left off reading and miss a few posts, apparently like I did when I missed that ER was married to MH before and is now engaged to him again. :what:

I've tried to read every post. I watched and rewatched the video. I had my son watch it with me (and he's a heck of a lot smarter than I). The initial request filed by Mr. Redwine appears to be from 2005, referring to an incident in 2003.

If I am incorrect, please help me out here. I am trying my best to understand.

Thank you.

Members of La Plata County Search & Rescue team using bloodhounds searched for the teen Monday night and Tuesday. The search area included the shoreline around Vallecito Lake, several small subdivisions, county roads, steep wooded hillsides and hiking trails. Many of the homes in the area are seasonal while some are occupied year around.
