Do we know if MR has a girlfriend?
We have heard about ER and MH and friends and support for them.
But nothing (that I recall) about MR with the exception of his brother and an estranged son.

Because Elaine told Nancy Grace that after she received a text from Mark informing her that Dylan was "missing" or whatever, she told him they should contact the Sheriff so imo Elaine did not question Mark because she is afraid of him imo.

Forgive me, Bluesky, but I do not understand.

Facts:
a) Mark tells Elaine that Dylan is missing
b) Elaine responds to Mark stating that they should contact the sheriff
Therefore:
c) Elaine is afraid of Mark

I do not see how (a) and (b) lead to (c). Can you please explain?

To your own son?! IMO this is not the time or event to be stubborn, your child is missing and IMO it doesn't matter what your feelings are about your ex, or the fact that your 18 you son knocked you out cold (which really sounds strange that he said he was out for hours - that had to have been one heck of a blow by an 18 yo) You talk with your ex, you talk with your child. You talk to the next door neighbor, the person at the store, the mailman, everyone. But most importantly, you keep contact with the people most closely involved. You don't play ignore games, it's not the time. IMO

I don't have the protection order handy that Mark had against Cory but we only hear MR's side of the story on this.

Apparently Mark was under the influence of alcohol when Cory beat him and initially I was shocked and couldn't understand why he would beat his father but I know men who become obnoxious and verbally abusive when they drink alcohol and based on what I have learned about Mark, I suspect he acts the same way when he is drinking and that's why Cory punched his lights out.

MOO

I thought a drunk MR grabbed ER and that's when Cory and Dylan fought with dad.
Gosh, what a way to live!
IMO

Kind of. ER claimed that a drunk MR grabbed her, and MR said "later that day" he was beaten up. It's not really clear from what we have how close together those incidents were (minutes? hours?)

For the next two years, the couple went through divorce proceedings. In 2008, mom, Elaine Redwine, claimed she had a confrontation with her ex-husband Mark in the early hours of July 4. She wrote, "He was very drunk and grabbed me and took a swing at his son." She said Dylan reacted and hit Mark.
In another protective order request, Mark claims he was victimized later that same day. "I was attacked and beaten then left for hours until I woke up," he wrote. Mark says his older son Cory admitted he was responsible for the beating.

I don't believe beating someone is a legal response to "verbal abuse" in any state, at least none that I've ever been to... even if you're obnoxious.

Mark's phone call to Elaine was a hoax imo. Elaine always knew Dylan was safe because she gave him a phone to use for that purpose and soon after Dylan arrived to stay with his father, his phone was suddenly shut off and now Elaine does not know where her son is and if he is safe. JMO

I believe his phone died/battery gone that's IMO but couldn't DR have called ER on land line? Perhaps that's why MR text her to ask had she heard from DR.IMO

This case is getting stranger by the min. Never knew LE could tell you not to talk to the media. Weird.

I think DR could have, the one question that was raised was whether he had memorized her number or just had it stored on his cell phone. Otherwise if his cell died, he wouldn't have a number.

I think MR was in Bayfield when he called ER (since he was down there checking in with DR's friends there, and he went to the Bayfield marshall's office to report him missing) so he couldn't use his landline. Nobody is quite sure why MR texted ER, or why she texted him back.

I know divorce is difficult and emotional on the couple and the kids, but this family sounds like it was very dysfunctional. I wonder how often things got physical. I wonder how much drinking went on.
I'm pretty concerned about dads involvement.

I have to say after reading all the things in the courts, and what seems to have happened up until this point, it reminds me alot of my own dysfunctional family as a child. Physical violence from several directions....it's a wonder Dylan didn't run off....just sayin.

Do we know that or is it speculation?
I would think it would be so difficult to not speak to the media! That would be the best way to keep the word out and his Pic!

just rumor.....

If LE asked you not to discuss details with the media - not ordered but asked - would you?

I think I would... I'd assume the police wanted me to not talk about something for a reason, and wouldn't want to jeopardize the case or ruin the trust I had with them.

No, I think it was more like 'don't speak to the media about your ex and about their guilt/innocence.' I am sure they are encouraged to speak about Dylan and where he was last seen etc. JMO

I think it would depend on how long they wanted me to wait, because at some point I would be saying to myself, they don't know what the heck they are doing. They can't get help from the public if they don't talk to the media, and it appears that the LE at this time is at a stand still...it something didn't give I would start shouting it from the roof tops! I would call every person I knew in the media! I would be asking for help outside the department....

I wonder if there are court records from ..oh, say, July?

Can you think of a scenario where LE might ask someone to steer clear of discussing their case with the media? Still free to get the word out on their missing child but not the case? Obviously it's to protect some element of the case /not jeopardize something, ... any thoughts?

But are they? I have not seen any very recent media appearances by either parent, that I can recall. I am sure that the local media would be more than accommodating and put them on the air or in the paper anytime, as this case seems to have grabbed the attention of the entire region.

I would be very interested to know if the media has turned down any requests from family for airtime or print, not just in this case, but many others too. I feel that I would be determined to keep my face in the news, and my mouth moving, all the time. Not a criticism, just a genuine curiosity on my part, as we often do not see much of the family after the initial days or a week or so and yet it is the one thing advised by most experts, including LE.

...back to my movie now (Gosford Park, one of my favorites, lol.)
