At 5:40 p.m., Dylan tells his friend that his plane has landed, and Ryan asks him how the flight went.

I'm wondering why he didn't text his mom until 7:06

There must be teams of people who can search during winter weather; people go missing on snowy mountains all the time and we hear of search and rescue efforts. I hate to think that that ground and/or water searches might be halted until spring. I hope that this isn't the case (and have not seen it written as such) but so often, we hear that searching will resume after snow melts, etc.

When requested, search teams come from all over the world to help in some cases. I wish they would reach out and get some areas cleared. We've seen that waiting around for a confession or a lucky "find" can be fruitless.

IMO they will pull out all the stops on missing hikers, etc that they believe are still alive. At this point, any outdoor / snowy terrain type searches are not likely as DR has been missing 4 weeks and I don't believe they think he is still alive wondering around the woods somewhere ...

Maybe he waited until he was sitting down eating to text Mom? That's just a guess. At that age friends always come first

I have to say that I am seriously concerned about Dylan's father hurting his own child right now! I am so very worried about Dylan!

Mark said he told his son it was too late. So Dylan texted friends in Bayfield, his father said, and made arrangements to meet them the next morning.

This appears to give us a bit into the timeline with the texts(although it is MSM so take it for what it is worth)

This is interesting as Ryan asks why he can not come and Dylan replys with " IDK" - So why did he not say " Dad says its to late to visit you tonight " ?

So where was MR's phone pinging when Dylan's phone stopped? I think the two were in a heated moment, Dylan sent his friend the cancelation text, then emotions went sky high and something happened.

Something in the back of my mind says premeditated.

If we knew the time of Wallmart photo we could tell whether texts were before or after.

ER has said that DR had a very old phone and has implied that it was on it's last legs. When a phone and/or it's battery dies - it dies. There is no miraculous resurrection.

If DR is like most of us he likely did not carry a backup contact list/address book of phone numbers. I have lost numerous contacts from several phones because I didn't backup the data on my computer before they were lost. I am entirely dependent on my phone to "memorize" phone numbers. I'd be lost without it.

I'd like to offer another personal experience with cell phones and coincidences. My son's iPhone had a cracked screen for a few months but was still operable. I was holding off buying him a new phone until the next version was released and/or my contract expired. One afternoon I dropped my iPhone and it's screen was totally shattered. I was able to send my son a single text telling him that it would likely be the last. Ironically as he was reading that very text he tripped and fell shattering his phone. Murphy's law blessed me with a $500 purchase of two new cell phones in the same day.

Now that is one heck of a coincidence but it happened. I think it is not very difficult at all to believe that DR's "old phone" may have bit the dust that night. I wouldn't chalk that up to a coincidence but common sense regardless of whether or not he disappeared.

Maybe he didn't feel like explaining it (was upset, etc). He did respond it was because his father said no.

So then why not tell his dad ?

he had to keep in contact with his mum so if his phone stopped working then he would of had to have used the land-line or something and then would of meant speaking to MR you would of thought .

I get phones do break at inconvenient times but i do not buy him not whining to his dad that his phone has broken .

Logically, I know this. But by not finding Dylan, I fear we end up with another case that holds plenty of suspicions but no arrests or attempts at justice.

Good note! It wasn't really late so I wonder why dad said no, but getting there at 6:30 a.m was ok, yet dad didn't mention any plans for Sunday eve! Except walmart and mcd's, both with cameras.

I wonder if this means Dylan asked his father after they shopped and ate or asked his father if he could go to the friends after they shopped and ate? KWIM?
