So you're looking for more of a panic and influx of texts after at least the 10am texts go unanswered.

I don't have a good answer as to why a 13-year old (R) wouldn't panic and go into alert mode in those first few hours.

I only have guesses. Maybe he thought Dylan was hitchhiking or making his way over. The night before Dylan was brief in texts that his father wouldn't let him visit with Ryan, perhaps MR took the phone away. MR has suggested cell service at his house was spotty -- maybe R was aware of this. Dylan could've slept in. I don't know. R is 13, do 13 year old boys panic in those lax circumstance?

MR eventually meandered over to R's house to see if Dylan was there... that was a good time for R to panic, IMO.

I guess in my mind, I'm more concerned with the parent waiting several hours to put these pieces together and show concern than I am a 13 year old boy not freaking out over missed texts.
Slightly O/T but relevant imo:
When I was 16 years old a friend from another school was set to cut class to meet up with us. When she didn't show up later we never assumed the worst. We thought she'd missed the bus, fell out with her mother, anything other than what really happened.

Even when her mother reported her missing we still didn't think the worst - we were kids ourselves - our worst was meeting an illicit boyfriend or running away to a friend's house. One of the darkest memories I will ever have is my mother coming into my room, crying, to tell me they'd found her - and it wasn't good.

Knowing Charlene (she was so funny and kind, always smiling) never did it enter our minds that anyone would want to hurt her. It just didn't factor into our realm of possibilities. Our world, as young adults, was much simpler before that day. FWIW

This poster also says he may have been wearing the black, Nike t-shirt. This has been driving me crazy. After the pic from WalMart, it appeared that LE revised the "Nike" shirt to the same shirt that Dylan had on in WalMart. Now, with this brand new poster, they not only give the date and the time, but they are also saying the Nike shirt.

Very, very interesting.

My first thought was that the Facebook poster had simply described the photo of Dylan from the Missing Poster.

I thought attention-seeker myself. After all, any normal person would take a photo of the missing child they had seen, call the police and keep him in their sight, wouldn't they? Not put a message on a Facebook page. And if Dylan had said he was worried about his parents, then the poster must have spoken to him - why not get Dylan to phone home there and then, or get Dylan to go with them to the police station.

I wish it was true, but really would you leave America's most talked-about missing child on the street, if you had just discovered them? Especially as there is a reward.

BritsKate so sorry to hear of your loss and thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Thank You :D

And I find that strange . He has a patten of behaviour that mum knows about because he hates mornings and he was going to be up at about 5-40ish so why would he not of got ready the night before ?

It is just something else that does not make sense IMO !!

If he hates mornings that much, then I don't find it so strange that he didn't wake up at 5.40am, and instead decided to sleep in a bit longer. Sometimes what the mum says does actually back up what dad says happened!

(However, there is no denying that it is strange that he hasn't been heard of since, and didn't let the friend know he was running late whilst eating breakfast).

Do you have a link or could you point me in the right direction showing where the sheriffs office put out this new poster with the time?
TIA

But Elaine also stated he always got up and went to school . So he was not good in the mornings but that's why he got ready the night before .

So the question is he arranged to be at his friends the night before and he knew he had a early start so why did he not do what he normally did and get ready the night before ????

This is the same boy who prompted the meeting at 6:30am and stated if Ryan did not answer he would pester him all day . Sorry it does not ring true he did not get up the following morning IMO .

he was still apparantly sleeping at 7.30am, but awake enough to say 'I understand'

his Dad must have been very quiet to not wake Dylan in an almost 2 hour time frame. Wouldn't he think to try and wake him every 10 or 15 mins until he got up?

Because according to LE: Dylan went missing between 7:30 am and 11:30 am per new poster. It's up on the FB page.

It as well states North of Vallecito Lake near Bayfield. Interesting.

This has also just came to mind . MR lived quite a way from Ryan's NAns house so when he was texting Dylan during the day , did he never ask Dylan how he had got there . Also was he not frustrated that he had driven home and Dylan had left without contacting him first and would of said something via text to this extent ???

I would like to see the texts that MR sent Dylan that afternoon .

Hey I agree especially knowing how badly he wanted to be with his his friend,
he would have gotten up.

I would just like for LE to come out and clear MR and for them to not do that leaves me thinking the worst. If they cant rule him out they cant move past!

There is another post from a local on the FMDR fb page that is worth a read, just for more info about the local community's feelings. It's a lengthy comment under the admin post to Dylan which starts with "29 days buddy." It's good they haven't seen some of the theories floated around here IMO.

Thanks for mentioning the post on the FMDR from the local person. I couldn't agree with her more. Obviously, nobody really knows what happened to Dylan. But to imply that his friends were somehow involved is pretty messed up. I had to step away from this page last night because it seemed to me some of the posts were calling into question the actions of Dylan's friends. Not cool.
