If LE had a very good idea where Dylan is they would have found him.
Why would you wait to locate someone? The sooner you find a missing person, the sooner you can collect evidence.

Maybe they cant go to him at this time!
Possibly the cold temps.
I think hes in the lake!

If he is in there would MR's phone not of pinged in that area and he had no reason to be in that location so surely there would of been more movement in this case if MR was somewhere he could not explain away ?

I don't quite understand cell phone pings. If MR lives just 3-4 miles from the reservoir, would the pings be vastly different between MR at home and MR at the reservoir? Also, doesn't he have to drive past the reservoir to get back and forth to town?

I think that was why they went back to the lake a second time. I actually think this is the area Dylans phone went dead possibly! Just a thought

But maybe it wasn't MR that was with him? Maybe it was someone else?

I know how this looks and I most definitely understand why some are so suspicious, but there are still other possibilities. We have seen so many cases where there is just some weird twist. At this point, there just isn't enough information to conclude one way or another, for me, anyway. There is certainly enough info to make me lean..... but I'm still sitting on that fence. Personally I see two highly probable scenarios (and many really weak ones) based on the info we have. I can argue both into the ground and still get nowhere :(

I wish LE would lighten up a little and give us something, anything to go on. I think we are in the "wait and watch" mode right now, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what is taking so long for LE to at least give us a hint as to what the heck they are thinking.

I am sad for his mom, but hope is not what will bring Dylan home. Searching, combined with sharing of info, might do so.

:truce:Just a note of explanation...
I posted the [link removed] thread because other sleuthers were questioning why MR friend's/ family where not backing him, well they are, not in a very popular place, but they are. MOO.

It depends on how many cell towers are in that area i think. This is what i can find

The location of the cell tower will tell you that the person is within a certain range. When the person moves they can be tracked by which cell towers the signal is bouncing to.

I accidentally did as well, saw the note from the mods.

You are a mod so i am not sure if i am allowed to quote you. Please delete this if its not allowed.

Yes, i sometimes forget nothing is set in stone in this case and we basically know very little.

I just personally can not get past the lack of the mobile phone not being in use after 8 pm.

It always came back to that for me.

How many 13 year old boys would in today's day and age sit in a car for 30/40 mins and at no point get out there phone and start texting friends ?

( not sure on the exact time range from Walmart to MR's house but its not near)

NO worries Wild@heart. It's just that [link removed] is not MSM and we rely on LE and Mainstream media.

MR may have left his phone at another location if he went near the lake/res.

It is okay to discuss a case with a mod that is participating in the thread - no worries :) as long as the discussion is NOT about moderation.

And yes, I agree about the phone. But I can also see how that phone might have gone dead, because I have an older phone and the battery is wearing out on it. The battery begins to drain after just one phone call - BUT the battery does last longer if I am only texting.... so..... again, I go back and forth with this and run it over and over in my head. I can see a 13 year old not texting and I can see a 13 year old that never stops texting. I think both sides are plausible. That's why I can't get off the fence, LOL.

But can you see the phone not working and him not telling his father? I think he would be frantic.

I recall seeing this asked before, but I can't remember if there was a definitive answer, does MR have a landline and/or a computer?

TIA.

From the looks of the maps, yes, he drives past this reservoir every day to get to and from town.
