I still don't understand why the nixed Equusearch coming in. :waitasec:

The rule is one parent has to ask, right? Certainly one of them must have. So who nixed it? Local LE?

From what was posted in an earlier thread, upstream, the family did ask for Tim Miller's help. { I think it was ER, but not sure.] But apparently LE said to hold off for awhile. I don't understand why they postponed it though.

I wonder why. I know sometimes local LE has a bit of a "chip" on their shoulder about having outsiders come in, but in this case the local LE has welcomed the help of the state police, the FBI, and even volunteers. Tim Miller does good work.

I have been a fervent defender of MR against those who have already thrown him under the bus, and I still don't like that there are 21 threads of vague accusations and insinuations of guilt with little to no facts or evidence, but I would like to know if he has been out searching for his son. I don't think I could sleep - let alone eat or work - if I had a son missing and I was the one in charge of his well-being. I would be scouring every inch of the landscape looking for him.

On a side note, that could be why he has lost so much weight.

He participated in one of the ground searches. I'm not sure what else he has done, the press hasn't said one way or the other IIRC.

Most Americans are a paycheck or two away from being homeless, so I can't blame any parents of the missing for needing to return to work. ER was pretty passionate about finding Dylan but she went back to Colorado Springs.

You bring up a good point Paul and one I've wondered about. I don't there is one stock answer, but I wondered how long parents of a missing child put their lives on hold and dedicate their time to that missing child and when they have to get back to their other responsibilities, to jobs, homes and the rest of their families.

The truth is that people need to work, and they need to earn a living, the job is not going to sit and wait for them forever or until their is a resolution on their missing child. MOO

ER has lost a little weight, which would be natural in the circumstances

on the other hand its reported that MR has lost a lot of weight

my comment is my opinion <mod snip>

I have known people under extreme stress to lose weight. I have also known others under extreme stress to gain weight. The idea that MR was said to have lost a lot of weight doesn't tell me anything more than he is under extreme stress. What parent wouldn't be?
Now if he had anything to do with dylans disappearance that would also be some pretty intense stress I would think. Either way or both I'm pretty sure he is pretty stressed out IMO. His weight loss is normal imo

True. My DH can't even afford to miss work when he's sick. Few families these days could afford to take off work indefinitely and most employers won't hold their jobs for long, some not over a few days.

As for parents searching, some parents can and some can't, I don't judge them either way. But at this point, it wouldn't surprise me if LE has strongly advised family members NOT to search, they often do for good reasons. No parent should have to find their child's deceased body, esp. after weeks of being missing. That would be devastating.

Another day of hoping for Dylan's safe return.

LE needs a break in his case.

I had read somewhere that Mark had wanted posters and such to pass out to truck driver's, which led me to believe he was going back to work. (I think on the fb page).

It appears the latest FB Page was removed either temporarily or permanently.

ETA - Looks like it was down temporarily for a name change. https://www.facebook.com/DylanRedwineNews

Not sure I understand the need for a different facebook page. Is its purpose to discuss theories or to bash on the parents, law enforcement, etc.?

The first picture is the side by side of ER (not sure what that is supposed to prove) and the second is a screen shot of Dylan's personal facebook page. They seem all up in the air about updates on that page. I read or heard that CR has access to Dylan's page so I'm not sure why that is relevant either.

Her arms look very thin to me as does her face compared to other pics I saw of her in Nov (not just this one). But that's JMOO.

The womans son is missing!
I doubt if she is eating or sleeping!

She placed her son on a pane to see his dad and poof he was gone.
I can not imagine how she feels inside.

Not sure the purpose as yet. The FB About says:
About

You are welcome to DISCUSS on this page!
Dylan Redwine has been missing from the Bayfield CO area since 11/19/12.

I think some people look for a non-prayer, non-censored group that is more open minded, others just prayer group, etc. You can't please everyone. I know Karissa Boudreau (12 yrs. killed by her mother) had at least 10 different focused FB groups, which was kind of obsessive l know lol.

Perhaps, instead of discussing ER's weight, hairstyle, etc. (in a derogatory sense) we should branch out into another topic.
IMO It's in poor taste to make thinly-veiled comments about her coloring her hair/styling it...a missing child is not tantamount to a complete breakdown of hygiene.....JMO, of course.

Right,, agreed !
Imagine if you were ER's sister, best friend, neighbor , cousin etc. at this time. You're watching your friend suffering and you don't know what to do. Shes' not eating, sleeping, bathing.. shes' falling apart. If she were MY friend or sister, I can absolutely imagine me saying ' hey, let's get you cleaned up, let's go to the salon, get a new hair cut, maybe a manicure, let's try to focus and keep our head up here. '' Also, she knows she will be in front of cameras, press , etc from now until the 'end' of this case. I see nothing sinister or weird about her sprucing herself up and I'd bet it is at the insistence of some good friend who 's just trying to help her out.
As for MR"s weight loss, I would say any parent would give 2 ***** about eating or bathing at this time. Someone is probably reminding them to eat if they do eat at all. Very common I would guess.

Sorry MOD ..... I saw the no more physical appearance talk after posting this. I can remove if needed.

Good post . I'd love to think MR is not involved and I still hold out hope that it could be other options. I think it is more the case of what is missing vs. what is known with regard to MR , that keeps getting his name brought up. But to answer your point if I can,, don't you think if MR was outside every day light hour , scouring every inch of the landscape, that we would know that ? Locals would be commenting on it, reporters would be commenting on it, even LE would probably be commenting on it. The little old guy that sells him cigarettes would say ' oh he drug himself in here for smokes during a break from climbing the trails all over the mountains all day long'. I've heard of no such scouring. I'm sorry :( Does that make him guilty? Absolutely not. But I would think he has reason to not be looking everywhere.
Several years ago one of our dogs ran off. I was out all day every day until dark looking for him. Every neighbor and everyone in my town KNEW my dog was missing. I was calling people and asking if I can come search the back part of their ranch for him and things like that..........for a dog. Why hasn't MR done this for his son? It's a good question. The answer may have no relevance.

I could very well be mistaken, but I know some became frustrated that the only things allowed on the main page were basically poetry and positive thoughts. I think some wanted to discuss the case in more depth. I did see that someone suggested they come here, but I guess they just decided to make their own page.

I can understand why certain things are not allowed to be discussed on that page though. It is for Dylan's loved ones, and I'm sure that although they know all of the possibilities in their hearts, they do not want that stuff all over their FDR pages.

Azgrandma, I have a random question if you don't mind. You said you were watching discovery ID tv and you mention other cases often. Were you a genuine sleuthing type PRIOR to Dylan becoming missing? I mean have you always had an interest in these type of cases and paid attention? It seems so . tks :)
