Azgrandma, I have a random question if you don't mind. You said you were watching discovery ID tv and you mention other cases often. Were you a genuine sleuthing type PRIOR to Dylan becoming missing? I mean have you always had an interest in these type of cases and paid attention? It seems so . tks :)

Yes, in my previous life (before kids) I wanted to study Criminal psychology, always wondered what made people tick and have never lost the interest

I was wondering the same thing. :-)

I have read every post since this poor young man went missing but have not posted. I have lived in Bayfield for just over 2 years but grew up in Durango. I do not know many of the players personally but i do have knowledge of the local area and would be willing to answer any questions you might have.

Awesome. Glad you jumped in. I know i saw a map ages ago but is there distance between Houses (Dad's house). Seems it's rough terrain there as well? Thanks in advance :seeya:

Hello and thanks for joining us! I have a question. A woman on the Facebook page said Florida Rd is not the route most locals would take from Durango to Vallecito. Your thoughts?

Welcome to WS!

Can I ask how the locals are feeling about this case?

Regarding Texas EquuSearch... The last (and only time) I can recall reading an exchange on the official find Dylan FB page, where apparently a poster contacted TES herself then asked the page admin if they (the family, local LE) had contacted TES to be invited in onto the case. The poster also included the email she sent to TES, which I think was a great idea.

Link included below. I wonder why LE asked them to hold off on TES.

I wonder if they would allow them to come in now, if not-why?

Is there anything else like this we can do? Any other organization that might be willing to speak with the family or work with LE? Any other resource that can be contacted to help? Some investigative journalist to get the nitty gritty details that nobody seems to be asking and getting? I hope LE is still making progress behind the scenes but eventually if the investigation cools off, they would have to inform the family - if the family then wanted to bring in their own PI or team with the funds raised, they should be able to do so.

Here's the link with the exchange about TES, back on 12/7:

ER said Mark didn’t exercise his visitation rights with Dylan before they moved to CS because of his job.

Elaine and Dylan moved to CS in the Summer and the visit in November was ordered by the Judge so was Dylan’s visit on the Labor Day weekend also court ordered?

Did Mark have to go to court each time he wanted to exercise his visitation rights or did he only go to Court to request one visit in November?

“Sixth Judicial District Judge David Dickinson issued a court order granting Mark Redwine, Dylan’s father, visitation rights during the Thanksgiving holiday.”

when I listened to Tricia/Websleuths interview with Mark Klaas discussing this case, Klaas mentioned that in order for his agency to get involved, an immediate family member generally has to specifically request that. I was curious why that hasn't been done too.

We don't know that the family has not made the request. In the case of TES, LE in charge needs to give their permission.

Could TES do anymore thats not already been done? In terms of limited diving and rough terrain. Especially now that winter has set in? Just wondering if that has anything to do with it?

Why did LE wait until winter? I don't understand LE here at all. First of all they were slow-they haven't searched MR's house right away, and apparently first assumed Dylan run away-that lost valuable time. And why hold off on TE (assuming that LE didn't want TE to come in)? Now we don't have anything-no body, no crime.

I never took it that LE at first though Dylan had run away only. It was one of the possibilities they were looking at but not the only one.

Even MR was criticizing them for not searching his house for days. I don't think they now can even establish whether Dylan actually made it to MR's house.
