See Link #651 above - please let me know if I inputted something in error. It was my first time doing it and hyperlinking it here. I'd like to know if I erred and/or how to fix it! TIA

I appreciate your map...because I had been looking at a different McDonald's address when I mapped it.

I was looking at the McDonalds at 185 Suttle St instead of the 201 W College Dr location

(the Suttle St McDonald's is super close to United Pipeline and that's why I assumed they went there)

I believe the suttle street address is the local office. It is definitely not the actual restaurant address.

Dylan's plane landed 5:47pm

it's 11 to 16 min from the airport to Walmart - MR said they were going there to buy groceries for the week

4 to 6 minutes to Mcdonald's - did they eat there or in the vehicle?

it's approx 1 hr 14 min from there to MR's home

WTHeck? No it's not. More like 30 minutes to MR house. Please post your proof of 1 hr 14 minutes. TIA

Thanks. I missed that. I guess that's one of the problems with assuming things :blushing: - I just assumed it was 2 people because she sometimes signs one name and sometimes the other. My mistake, sorry.
BBM
Which makes it even odder IMO.

Here's a map if this helps: Looks like 1 hour 33 minutes from Airport to MR's home after stopping at both Walmart & McDonalds.

http://goo.gl/maps/nUDVp

Thanks for the map. So if we use your time we just have to attempt to add in the guestimate for Walmart & drive-thru or eat in.

MrsPC's search got 1:14 from McDonalds to MR's house, but keep in mind to consider 4 to 6 minutes if McDonald's was first then backtracking to Walmart.

Does anyone have other time figures or corrections?

We have a guideline of the important texts regarding an approx. time.

Does the timeline make sense with what MR claims? Providing it is true of course, but is it plausible?

I have been waiting for my baby Grandson to wake up, but he hasn't so I better scram to get some sleep. Yikes my mind is running a mile a minute, I really want to figure this part of the timeline. Maybe someone will :please:

Vallecito Reservoir to Durango, CO - Google Maps

I may be doing something wrong here, so please bear with me and help me out...
When I click on your attached link (which is blank or all white, by the way)... but I clicked on the top part and it took me to a map of Durango (nowhere specific - maybe just the town of Durango) and then to Vallecito Reservoir. Is that what the map you attached is supposed to show?

And how far should it be ?

I am confused. This is what it says on the map that YOU posted:

Co Rd 501 and Co Rd 240
35.1 mi, 1 hour 3 mins

[ How the heck is that 30 minutes?]

and the map Ransom posted doesn't even go all the way to MR's home

My feeble brain is beggin for sleep...thanks for being here, all of you!!! Here's hoping we bring home the missing in 2013. Thinking of you, tonight, Dylan. Hoping you are warm & safe, wherever you are.

Well I could definetly go 24.1 miles in 30 min on a straight-away with no stops and a speed limit of 60 or greater . However this route appears to winding and have some sharp curves and I have no idea about the speed limit.

That's what I'm trying to figure out what was so wrong about the map I did?

I really want to know if I'm doing something wrong. And to be honest, I never stated it was "FACT" - I plugged in SPECIFIC destinations on Google Maps - not just Durango and Vallecito.

If google maps is inaccurate - blame them! LOL

Your link says 59 minutes, so not a huge difference fwiw? I mapped from airport to MR address and got 1 hr 14 min also. Maybe Google has a person driving very slow?

Did you include the stop at Walmart AND McDonalds? Is it still 59 minutes?

No I was referring to Ransoms link which appeared to be a general map from Durango to the reservoir. I used the airport to MRs address and got 1 hr 14 min without any stops. I did not add in the two stops because I don't have the addresses and the Xoom is not the most search friendly tablet lol but maps works great.

Now I'm not sure how Google calculates time. Did they have someone drive it and that's how long it took at the speed limit or do they have some mathematical formula that comes up with times based on road conditions, speed limit, etc?... I have no idea

Out of curiosity only, check my post #651 - click on that map link - and all addresses should be listed (McD and WalMart). Can you input those into whatever map you're using to see if it's close? TIA!

I looked at Google street view of CR 240 from Durango and it's a single lane ea way...it's very rural, with lots of curves and ea curve has 35mph or less speed limit signs posted.

Apple maps says 1hr 32 mins using all 4 locations.

Can't see a thing wrong with your map. As usual your research seems spot on.
