O/T

I have a question that I don't want to bug the mods with, and thought someone else might be able to answer it for me. Any volunteers?

Is it only professionals in fields relevant to finding missing persons or other crimes that need to be verified before being allowed to speak about their areas of expertise without Moos and all that? It may, or may not, be obvious that I'm talking about my post/s about pings and triangulation. Would I have to become verified (which I think would be a waste of everybody's times since my field will seldom be needed in a case) in order to discount an opposing paper by an attorney on the subject?

TIA

I agree, but I obviously didn't make my point clear. :blushing: I was just trying to say that if she had been alone before going to a neighbor's cabin, they could have done anything (including moving her to a different location) before the family started looking for her. Even when they did, their cottage couldn't be search without a warrant, so all they'd have to do is offer to help look and get rid of her later (or one help and the other get rid of her if there was more than one person.)

This is soooo true, and it happens. Little Jessica in Florida was taken out of her own bed in the night and carried across the street. She had been raped, tortured, and was held in the closet bleeding when LE knocked on their door and was told they hadnt seen her. By the time an adequate search was done, she had been buried alive in the back yard.

I will NEVER forget that case and hope I've learned the necessary lessons from it.

Your 4 year old wanderer indeed could have lost her life tragically in such a shortsighted bleep. We must all be diligent in looking out for our little ones.

So nothing like this has happened in the area before * i remember somebody trying to find crimes like this from the area* and this random person starts with Dylan ?

I still don't personally see it .

I don't think it is the most 'probable' scenario, but it is a possible one, imo.

The problem is, the window of opportunity for the perp was very small. Whereas there is someone else who had a 20 hour window of opportunity.

But we have seen quite a few cases where random abduction occurs.

I was talking about crimes of opportunity. Not 13 year olds, not witnesses. Think I won't share things that happen to me in the future that reminds me of this case.

You can post all you want . It was just my opinion on the fact i do not think a 13 year old is going to go willingly with a stranger without a struggle .

I am sure loads of other posters liked your post :)

Usually (of course not always, before i get a list of examples, lol) the victims of random abductions are younger, IMO.

I think so too. I still think acquaintance
ETA: due to what was said in one MSM article about something Dylan could not get out of statement ( paraphrase)

A random abduction of a 13 (almost 14 year old) would not be an easy undertaking.

I have to agree and then to leave no trace would be even harder IMO

I am open to that possibility. But I don't think MR had that many acquaintances that knew Dylan was there. And I would think that the FBI looked into all of them. I hope so anyway.

I edited my post- to include a paraphrase of the statement about something Dylan could not get out of. I think acquaintance of his, not necessarily MR

It was posted about an hour ago (that's what it says - not me being vague! lol) it's a comment by SCN under "Recent posts by Others".

Do you see it?
Thanks I found it. Had to click "all". I'm on a tablet and fb displays in a different manner.

I think your field is often in-demand info here!

Becoming verified was, in my experience, very quick & painless. And I do like that we have the lists of verified professionals here because it gives me some idea of who I can contact with questions even if that person isn't following the same threads I am. Just my thoughts.

It still does not compare when Dylan was 13 and physical able to put up a fight if somebody tried to grab him.

From the little we know there are no signs of any struggle which would be strange if it happened around the house.

Imo, Dylan was small for his age. I believe the missing children site puts him at 105 pounds.

Just because there was no signs of struggle around the house doesnt mean he wasnt abducted, imo. We do know that LE has said all along that abduction is a possibility and I have seen nothing where they have changed their mind to that option. So they do think it was doable.

For all we know he may have been coaxed to getting into a vehicle under the false pretenses that the person would take him somewhere he wanted to go and this person had other intentions in mind instead.

In fact I am trying to think of a case where a teen that was around Dylan's weight who was kidnapped and there was a sign of a struggle left behind and I cant think of one at the moment. Most that I read about there is no sign of anything. No struggle, no eye witness...no one hearing anything....its like the child just vanished without a trace into thin air.

I do know I have read many cases about grown women though who were abducted and there was no signs of a struggle in their case either.

So imo if there were no signs of a struggle it really doesnt mean much.

Didn't they use (prior) phone pings to prove that Shawn Adkins was not always where he stated he was the day Hailey was reported as missing?

For all the good it did...

I love, love, love the verified professionals list. I am always paging Gitana1, Pensfan or MaryCarney. It is so nice knowing who you can run to in a pinch. Oriah and Sarx are popular bat signal recipients too.

Maybe I should look at that again. I thought it looked like mainly people oriented fields, and more forensics type stuff. Thanks.

I think the reason why abduction has not been ruled out and anything else is because they just don't know .

He has basically vanished off the face of the earth without leaving any clues (from the little we know)

MOO
