Well didn't he give up his rights to his other sons per azgrandma for $40,000 back child support?

MOO

That was their agreement but she said he never filed the promised paperwork. I've wondered if MR offered ER the same deal and she refused but that doesn't quite play for me. Her & MH seem to be financially secure so I don't think giving up the CS would be a great hardship which leaves me with no reason for her to refuse.

Court records don't support that, and I believe she just said he had promised to give them up but didn't. I'm sure she'll correct me if I'm wrong. MOO

If he was giving up his rights, I doubt that he'd be given visitation. MOO

Blame it all on me! Growing up, I was always the responsible child. If anything went wrong, I was usually responsible. :blushing:

Lol, sorry! I didn't mean to blame you. My post was just the longest and most recent on step parent adoption so I wanted her to know that my comment was just a reply to you and not based on any facts or speculation.

I do know a few lawyers! And all of them are still on the bar because they haven't pulled that kind of stunt.

Well there you have it. I know the bad ones and you know the good ones!

You pretty much make it what you want to. I imagine if you have no friends or family around, you do something low key. When I first got married, we went to another state away from family and friends because hubby was in the military. We knew no one. So it was just him and I. Our first Thanksgiving together. We didn't have the money on military pay for a turkey and all the trimmings. I cooked something we spent it by ourselves, just him and I.

We don't know if someone invited them over or was going to. It was still days away. I'm sure if Dylan's friends parents knew he was there and on their own, they would have gotten in invite. JMO

I have to ask. Sorry Seajay your post I am simply jumping off of. I hope that is ok.

Does MR have a girlfriend? Fiance? This is what 5 or 6 years after the divorce, surely he has not lived like a hermit.

For all I know maybe she might of accompanied MR to the airport, stayed in the home the night Dylan was there, or even gone with him to run his errands.

At one point it was rumored that he had a gf in NM but then it was later said she was just a best friend or something platonic. It wouldn't be surprising for him to be involved with someone but I think if they were present Sunday or Monday we would have heard about it.

I was just thinking. Why would he sign. Signing would end any control he might have had.

Not signing was a little gotcha. He didn't have to pay and he still got to drive her nuts.

It was a win, win for him. The only benefit she got was her boys. A blessing.

All MOO

I very heartily doubt LE tested for gun residue since they did not perceive a crime had taken place initially. Don't know how long after the fact it shows up. Do know that in Colorado it is illegal to ask gun owners to register their guns. How fricking wild west is that? I sleuthed that right away and came up empty since it is more of a crime to ask about owning a gun than to own one. Sorry for the rant but wow! I'm on the fence. I'd predict he doesn't own them b/c he seems like the kind of volatile personality that might have used one already.

Oh I'd bet he does own guns, living in that rural area.

Signing would have been the honorable thing to do after she followed through with forgiving his debt but given what we have heard about him I'm not shocked that control was prioritized above honorable. JMO.

I know it's been discussed umpteen times...

but ER said MR rarely exercised his visitation rights before they moved to Colorado Springs.

Wonder what changed or why MR decided he wanted to see Dylan more after?

That question is what makes me lean heavily towards the premeditation theory.

Right. And of course there would be no reason for him to mention that in his interviews with the press, where he described what he and Dylan were doing. Because that is such a minor irrelevant detail.

OT. The holidays really spoiled me, I could read WS to my hearts content, but then those pesky bills kept coming in the mail. So even though i would rather be reading at WS, back to work I went. Goodnight fellow Websleuthers, play nice while I'm gone. I will be back tomorrow night trying to speed read all 500 pages. :)

Hmmmmmmmmmm

We don't really know though do we?

This as well was a small area, could anyone else of accompanied him on his errands and arrived and saw Dylan?

For that matter, does he have someone staying in his home to watch over it while he is away?

So many questions, so few answers.

I hate to say it, but it will probably be the same thing. I hope something breaks and we get some new information. have a good night. jmo

I don't have the same questions you do.
I fail to see any reason he wouldn't mention someone else who was there, if that someone was there and saw Dylan. Especially when he appears to be so concerned with the attention being on him instead of Dylan.

exactly, I'm willing to bet, this was to get back at his ex. why didn't Dylan mention the "great" trip on his facebook? why is mr not pleading for his return? not answering more questions?? why?? he was the last person to see Dylan............hmmmmmm...........

  • #638
I doubt MR would make up a trip to Boston, something which is easy to verify, when the police know he is the last known person to see Dylan.

Most anything is possible but I think we would have heard about someone else being present. If nothing else that person could back up MR's story that Dylan was alive and well Monday morning or at the very least made it to the house Sunday night. I don't see any reason why LE would refuse to clear that up if they could.

I am having a hard time understanding this. Just because pictures are not on the FB page does not mean they don't exist. For all we know his whole house is lined with pictures. Why do we just assume the worst of MR when we know very little of him. Actually only things both x wives has said. jmo

Or he took film photos and never bothered to put them online, or he didn't take pictures because he's a dude and thought of it more as an experience than a memory. It's silly to suggest, in a case with very little information or photos, that lack of proof means it didn't happen.

In my case, as a Colorado Mom - NO! However, another thing that bothers me about this case is that Dylan supposedly talked to the judge. There is nothing that I see in the MSM that substantiates that. In my experience, a child only talks to a child advocate/evaluator, who writes a very dry report.

It's not uncommon at all.

I do know a few lawyers! And all of them are still on the bar because they haven't pulled that kind of stunt.
In all cases I know of like this, the lawyers were not privy to the child's statements either. So it was a non-issue, they weren't going to share what they also had to leave the room for. Family court has different rules than criminal court, no assurance that attorneys get access to everything. the judge has the right to ask the child their opinion in a secure manner before making his decisions.
