I've been saying since the beginning that Dylan is alive. I've also tried to put out there the idea that he was "abducted" by someone he knows. Unless I name Mark as the likely candidate, I can't name anyone else and I'm not naming Mark. I have said about as much as I have been allowed to say in this, all speculating what I think. This post, for whatever it's worth reinterates what I've been trying to say while tip-toeing around the rules.

Basically what I've seen saying is that Dylan was "abducted" by someone he knows, to make someone else look bad, irresponsible, guilty. And they don't know how to get out of it now (thus the this far comment.) It wasn't all the way thought out and now there is no way to come clean without some major legal issues. All JMO and what I think.

Well that would be very interesting albeit completely stupid!

Given that no demands for ransom have been issued (that we know of) I have to rule that out. Maybe abduction by someone known to him in the community? If so, will we find poor Dylan come springtime somewhere else in the four corners area? Because it was such an odd week- school out, holiday traffic, warm weather for the area- the tendency for a regular community member to behave in different ways might not have seemed out of place.

Maybe handed off to someone by MR? Cannot imagine that LE has not checked out MR's family/friend circle but he has come across as a private guy so perhaps he has some connections hidden away? This is the only scenario that gives me any hope of Dylan being alive.

I haven't heard any true kidnap for ransom cases in a long time, have you? Kids that are kidnapped for ransom generally come from very wealthy and influential families, and I don't think anyone could describe either of his parents as either. ER may be a little better off as far as job and income but she works for a living and while they may be comfortable, certainly not in the wealthy class, AFAIK.

I don't know how much this cop knows or doesn't know, but I hope LE in charge of this case are made aware of his postings and get a chance to talk to him. It might not help much, but it sure can't hurt.

The only other theory i have is that Dylan did run off , he felt let down by Mum who would not let him stay at home when he wanted to ( 13 years old are not the most rational ) and did not want to be around MR so decided to take off. And met foul play along the way.

LE has stated that they do not believe he ran away. I wonder how they came to that conclusion?

I think when I was about 12 I ran away. I packed my bag and walked to the end of the street and sat down and cried and returned home. I got scared. And the truth is I had a wonderful childhood and never had any reason to run away. LOL I threatened my Mom that I would run away and she said 'ok I'll help you pack' and she did and sent me on my way. Looking back now it's hysterical but I swear this is true. It's not uncommon for kids this age to think running away will solve all their problems.

To me, there are only two scenarios regarding LE in this case; they are seeking enough info to make an arrest of a specific person, or they are clueless. Hate to think it is the second.

I don't envision them arresting anybody unless they find Dylan. So I am going with they are clueless. Unfortunately this is turning out like many other cases we have been following-no arrest ever made.

I hope you are right because it would be the best odds that Dylan is fine and taken care of but this scenario seems rather rare to me.

Are there solved cases in which making someone look guilty turned out to be the motive?

I do not think its that person if he has been abducted. Why risk losing your son over this when you already have custody?

Who says it's that specific person?

It does seem like this will never be solved IMO

If it is who i think it is , then clean up time is astronomical and a small town who does not do a full out forensic until a week after the fact , well its no wonder they are struggling IMO .

The fact Elaine suddenly seems more proactive as well leads me to think LE dont have much either .

BBM: This is why I like this scenerio the best. Dylan is alive and taken care of. Plus, it puts MR in the hotseat.

I just don't think anyone thought this case would get this big. I think it took on a major life of it's own. JMO

Exactly. I didn't name anyone. We just can't name anyone besides Mark and I'm saying it isn't Mark. :)

BBM I found this:

The law-enforcement task force canvassing the Vallecito community for clues to the disappearance of 13-year-old Dylan Redwine has discarded the possibility that he ran away Nov. 19 from his father’s home north of the reservoir, La Plata County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dan Bender said Wednesday.

“There’s a combination of factors,” Bender said. “There’s been the passage of time without any sightings; Dylan was not a visitor but had friends here; he has a history of staying in contact with his family and friends; and there’s been nothing on his cellphone record since he was reported missing.”

I was going to runaway at 13 too, my Mother expected me to wash windows. Can you imagine the nerve of her? I had $65.00 and I called the Holiday Inn & when I realized I only had enough for 2 nights...I decided to save my money. What's a few windows anyway... :floorlaugh:

My point is I doubt Dylan had much, if any money. There has been no mention of him using or not using a bank card.

I must say, even though that whole FB thing is rumor and we can't take it seriously, at least it's finally getting us to seriously talk about something besides Mark did it, Mark did away with or did something incredibly horrid to his child in whatever words it's been said so many times.

I really like that we are talking more seriously about runaway or abduction (either by someone familiar to Dylan or a stranger.)

Ok , well i do not agree as i do not see what anybody would gain besides Mark IMO.

I am conviced the missing rucksack with most of his belongings in helped them think that IMO !!

I am not sure that was not a decoy to distract LE for the first few days .

Sadly I think Dylan died that sunday Evening around 8pm. Right whe his phone went off the grid.
He is 13 yrs old.
If he was unhappy with his Dad he would have called Mom or his brother to send for him or come and get him I dont think he got that chance
and he could have been doing this exact thing when his phone was silenced.
The look of this child in that Walmart photo shows he is not a happy camper.
And its not because hes bored or hes tired. He is just NOT Happy. I would very much love to see DAD in that video of the two of them not just one frozen frame of Dylan. I think there is alot we do not see and are not being allowed to view.

I am trying so hard to get through the new posts today before posting myself, but I wanted to put this out there before forgetting: were dogs brought in to the dad's home to see if he was even there recently? From other cases I've followed, it seems that handlers can tell if the dog is following a fresh scent or an old one (since he obviously had been in the home before the Tgiving visit).

(FYI - I've thought that whatever happened to Dylan happened at the home, not out hitch hiking. Whether a stranger abduction or not. Now, you guys have me doubting that and thinking of the night before.)

It has always amazed me how far some can go when vengeful anger is the motivating factor. I am a victim of such a type of vindictive anger, thus I can almost feel it when I believe I'm seeing it.

All i can remember is Elaine had to send somebody home as MR did not have the right scent items for the dogs ( if i remember rightly )

It is okay to be seemingly diametrically opposed in our thinking and theorizing with regard to Dylan's disappearance. There is more than one way to look at a situation such as this -- in spite of the numerous past cases in which it was almost immediately apparent as to what happened to a child. What is it, I wonder, that sometimes gives a person pause to stop and think that, perhaps, something seems different.... almost like a whisper, a vague notion, something niggling at you and bothering your usual train of thought on a matter
