Seems like there is a reason we haven't heard about this 9:37pm communication before. Perhaps it was communicated through the Ipod they took when they searched MR's home?

Also interesting that they are interviewing/searching in other states? Could this refer to MR's family in other states?

Did they say other states or just other areas?

I think that LE might think that the 8:01pm text was the last communication to/from Dylan on his CELL PHONE. I don't think RN's 9:27 ever went through because the phone was toast before then. THEN there was an outgoing text from his Ipad at 9:37 but I don't think it was Dylan who sent it (my guess).

Could also have been sent out via computer/internet. MR appears to have a fair amount of internet savvy himself. :floorlaugh:

I haven't either. I've only heard an iPod mentioned. JMO and AIR, though. :twocents:

I've ony heard of the Ipod also. Which raises the question: Was it a reg. iPod or a touch iPod? With a touch (I have one) you can text, face to face, etc. Whatever you have the app for. I don't think that is true of a reg. iPod which just basically plays music, right?

Thanks, nursebeeme. Since it doesn't specify, I'm not assuming they're entering, leaving, or in between times. Just times Dylan was at each of those locations. Maybe we can take drive times and see what we can come up with.

Different subject - I notice that there is no time given for Dylan being at Mark's house. I don't know what if anything that means - it's just something I noticed.

LE said it was Dylan. So it had to be something that is associated with Dylan.

because a iPod was taken out of the house in the search so that could of been why .

Wasnt it mentioned an Ipad or I pod was removed from the house after the search. You can text from an Ipod also.

Either it was an effort by someone (likely MR) to "prove" that Dylan was still alive or at the home.

OR

Something about it is incriminating or reveals a previously unknown (& possibly still unknown, to us) detail.

If the text had been to MR, ER, CR, or his friend R wouldn't that person have already made it known? All of the above (except MR, who has had his records searched through) have been pretty vocal and open about their communication with Dylan that day.

my opinion on that is they are not divulging the pings *at all*

I think they are just leaking a bit of info out to the public (and stuff that does not impede their investigation)

I don't think it was Dylan who sent that last electronic device message. I think the CELL PHONE was destroyed shortly after 8:01pm. I think that 9:37 message was an attempt at a cover up. And I think LE knows this.

That would certainly point to MR being guilty if that's what happened. Or maybe the cell phone battery went dead. MOO.

Apologies I meant iPod not iPad. A text could have been sent via computer also. I think this was an attempt to make it look like Dylan was there! They said it was from Dylan because this person would have had to login as Dylan to send the text. But anyone can do that.

LE is very careful how they word things. It says Dylan's last elec comm. I take that literally. Not 'last elec comm from a device owned by Dylan'. Not 'somebody sent the last elec comm from a device owned by Dylan'. Just what it says - Dylan's last elec comm.

Just my way of thinking, of course.

Definitely an option. As someone else suggested, this last text could even have to do with him finding another ride for the next day. We just don't know.
