Hmmm...I just don't think it was sent by him. Of course I have nothing to base that on other than a feeling.

Ok it's just a little too quiet in here. What the heck is going on that I'm missing? :)

I was thinking the same thing I started going to other threads wondering if i was missing something.

My gut is saying this is the smoking gun!

electronic device communication (texting)

I wonder if they were able to determine what device this came from and maybe through some type of forensic analysis perhaps they determined it was not sent by Dylan? Or perhaps Dylan's fingerprints were not on this device, or if it was sent via his iPod perhaps somebody's else's fingerprints were on there too?

I think your right!

Well I'm wondering does anyone know if any local channels might carry the PARTY live tomorrow ? Or are we going to have a thread like a scanner during the event. I'm really nervous about it. I hope everyone keeps their wits and a civil tongue !

Or if it was it said something very incriminating!

My gut feeling is that Dylan's last text message at 9:37 PM was to one of his friends saying that he was tired and was going to sleep. MOO.

Well I can think of no beneficial reason for releasing the info about that last text to the public. LE is very calculated in what they release. I can only imagine it's purpose is to let the perp know that they know about it.

I have a question.

Say a text was written and sent but if there was a delay in the sending of the tex
and if the phone was destroyed soon after could the message show on Dylans phone and the text never showed up to who he sent it to....

Yes. I think you mean if there was a delay in the receiver receiving it?

I don't know the answer to that ,, but I would guess once it is SENT it is sent no matter what and cannot be retrieved. If his phone died prior to it sending,,,, then I guess it is not sent. I don't know. What we need to know is where do texts ' land' until they are received by the next phone?
Like a little text purgatory ?

But his family is on record with his last communication around 8. I think they are genuinely surprised to hear about this text. If it were sent to his friends, many of whom have been visible and vocal since he went missing, I would think they would have spoken up about the text.

They are in text lala land :waitasec: LOL I think what she means is it possible say if someone hit the send button, then dropped their phone in water, is it possible that it will register on the senders phone but never make it to the receiving phone? I know sometimes there's a delay from the time I hit send until it actually shows as sent on my phone. I really don't know for sure but I don't think it's actually in text lala land until the phone shows it as 'sent'. But it may still show in my sent messages.

Ok now that we're all thoroughly confused!!! :great:

I read yesterday that they are stored somewhere on a server and then as soon as the person has reception it is re-sent to the persons phone . It is then deleted off that server after so many hours .

OMGoodness its all so complicated.

I was also thinking Dad took his phone and either turned it off or tossed it
Then Dylan whips out his trusty I POD and sends a text!

I agree. And I'm very very curious who this text was sent to. The family didn't know about it because it wasn't sent on his phone. I don't think LE knew about this either until they confiscated some items from MR's house.
