Suppose to read we don't know that he didn't get to Mark's that night. I'll go change it.

No problem. Your post are usually so eloquently written; I was totally confused:waitasec:

Agree... that's why I posed the questions I did in my last post. Maybe it happens in CO but not where I'm from that I'm aware of. If I were an investigator/LE, I'm not sure I would even contemplate an arrest for just lying unless I had some compelling reason to do so - especially if I'm hoping to build my case with solid evidence, etc. and want the charges to stick.

I was not implying he be arrested for lying but if he was lying that would indicate guilt to me. If not guilty why would he fabricate the whole scenario of leaving DR sleeping on Monday morning. Does that make sense?

I must have misread... apologies!!! I still thought about the questions, though and figured it seems slow in here, so I'll just ask anyway! Can't hurt! To me, 5 years sounds like a long time for lying ... so I'm not gonna' lie to nobody except DH when I tell him I need more money! LOL

I apologize if this has been discussed...but has anyone ever mentioned if Dylan had his own key to Mark's house? Would Mark have provided one that evening? Is it missing? Was the house locked when Mark returned from chores?

If I were a guest and didn't have a key I would be reluctant to lock myself out unless I was very sure I wasn't going to return before other access was available.

In other words, if Dylan did not have a key he probably would have left the door unlocked if his destination was nearby (eg fishing).

We probably don't know but I'm curious......

No problem and I agree it is so slow. Don't really know how to say that without sounding cold and harsh. We can't keep hashing and rehashing the same thing. It is really so maddening but I can't stay away just hoping for a break and anything new in the case. I can't imagine how the family deals with this day in and day out. jmo

As far as I know, this has never been reported. But since Dylan rarely visited, I think the safe bet is that he didn't have the keys.

Since Dylan didn't drive and therefore couldn't really go anywhere on his own (except outside on foot, most likely expecting to return quickly).. I doubt MR would give him a spare key. Most places Dylan would be leaving to go, MR would be driving him there.

But of course we don't know for a fact. I guess it's possibly Dylan could have had an old key to the house back from when his parents divorced & Dad moved into that house & Dylan still lived in the area.

Another question I had way, way back and never had answered but would love to know... how much cash did Dylan have on him when he arrived (either given to him by his mom or money of his own) and did he have a/any credit cards? That question has been gnawing my brain for forever.....

Is it even legal for a 13 year old to have a credit card? I don't think he had any credit cards. Credit cards are easily traced.

But how do you prove WHO sent the message?

The only few ways are to know WHO sent msg:
1. the content....for eg Dad is an 🤬🤬🤬****
2. the ping to match it was at house or elsewhere far away

KWIM.

TxJan.. I have been dying to know the answers to those questions as well! & jjenny, at 13 he could have a debit card (probably not a credit card). This card could be linked to his mom's checking account, or she could have one set up for him with her name on there as a custodian of the account. I'm betting he just had a little cash. Because there has been no mention of tracing any credit/debit purchases, etc.

LOL I confused myself when I reread it. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what I had been trying to say at that moment. :p

I think there are a lot of banks that won't give a debit card to a minor, but there are prepaid credit cards they can use. I agree that he probably didn't have anything more than a small amount of cash. MOO

You know what I am hoping, don't you.....

Yeah, I just know that was what my mom set up for me when I was a young teen. Checking account with her as a custodian on the account, and a debit card that drew from the account. It was also set up so I could not "overdraw".

I have no idea what the situation was with Dylan & money.

IF and that's a big IF Mark had anything to do with this, I want him prosecuted for it. But I'm not convinced yet that he did. Things others see as evidence I just don't see yet. Maybe eventually I will, but I want proof, hard and fast, concrete proof. Right now because he had Dylan last, it would appear he might have something to do with it, but as far as we know, there is no smoking gun yet, there is nothing in stone that LE has let us in on. Everything is supplication, speculation, gut feeling, etc. My gut feeling is telling me something different then a lot of other's is telling them. I guess I just see things in a different way.

I just want Dylan back, I want him safe and home again. I want him well and happy. I pray for this boy all the time, I think he worked his way into all our lives, we all want the same thing first and foremost, for Dylan to come home. Anything else is the icing on the cake.

BTW, just for the record, even though it got all misunderstood, but I'm a lefty, too. Thought that was an interesting discussion.

Honestly, I do not believe anyone is settled on MR as the absolute suspect or perp. But he is all we have right now, in a way. Many of us have related scenarios of a possible local perp, but we can only suggest that, and move on, since we have no way of knowing if there is such a person. Presently, all we have is the father, who has, to many of us, acted in ways rather astonishing for an innocent parent of a child taken under his care.

Ok, now I'm confused. The way I'm reading your comment, you're asking why MR would fabricate the scenario of DR sleeping on Monday if he isn't guilty...is that correct?
I would respond by saying because if he isn't guilty, that is what happened.
If he is guilty, he would make up a story.
Correct?
