I wonder what area is considered 'out of the region'?

Could be out of state, i.e relatives, or out of the county, i.e co-workers, no way to tell. Or anyone else, I guess.

Well I thought this was something new they were doing based on the evidense they had obtained. I would hope they had interviewed ex and children early on. jmo

Possibly relatives probably but heck who knows I guess they had to say something positive lol.

Maybe ppl hes worked with.
Anyone hes dated?

I dont take things im reading as happening right then and now i take it was what they have been doing all along

Just because we are just hearing it does not mean they are just doing it IMO

Possibly second interviews? For instance, if they had found pings in a certain location and wondered if MR or Dylan had any connection to the place? Just trying to think of an example. Or if he had ever worked near such a place?

Exactly or talking to one person led them to another!

If I am remembering correctly, this was the interview where they said they are following up on all leads? Even from psychics? I know this could involve interviews with those who know MR or be related to recovered evidence, but that really isn't what I thought of when I read it. In missing persons cases, there are always reported "sightings" from well intentioned people all over the country. That was what came to mind when I read "out of the region." I hope it is something more concrete.

IMO - If you are now talking to psychics then you must be pretty low on clues . As most are proven to be frauds

I don't think most LE have much faith in psychics either. It does seem that LE follows up psychic tips in a lot of cases though. I've always thought they follow up because they feel somebody might be trying to pass along information without getting involved themselves. I know the investigators on the Ayla case said only recently that they would not be following up on any more tips from psychics, but they were checking them out for over a year.

But dont they have to follow up on it anyway! I think they have to.

Jumping off of mck's previous post:

Any legal minds on here that could answer a hypothetical?

If someone living in the state of Colorado lied to police during a criminal investigation,

1) What's the likelihood of that individual being arrested on a charge of lying to LE during a criminal investigation prior to having any evidence that a crime had been committed and/or evidence that supports said party's involvement;

b) If an arrest were made on a lying charge alone, what would the minimum sentencing guidelines be (even an approximate guess)

c) If evidence is found AFTER respective individual completes jail time that solidly implicates said party, can that individual be rearrested on different charges?

Just a "what if" thought that went thru my head after reading mck's prior post.

I do not know Colorado's law but in most states a person can be arrested and convicted of obstruction of justice with evidence proving they lied during an investigation and subsequently hindered the investigation. In addition, I am certain a person can be re arrested on other charges, even if it relates to the same case.

if a sighting has been reported I hope there is security footage from a store.

In my opinion, LE knows who the recipient of the 9:37 text is and talked to them about it well before the timeline was released. If they wanted to rattle that person they would have done it that that time.

I am not even sure that the message was send. By the way LE worded it, maybe an electronic device last received a message at 9:37 pm before being turned off.

Interesting thought. I wonder if LE knows what time the device was turned off?

What confuses me is if it was sent or rec'd by Dylan's phone, ER didn't know this from the bill. What factors would cause this particular text to not show up on the bill? :waitasec: It is a mystery to me.

So was ER aware of all the texts between Ryan and Dylan?
