If only we knew what it said..

Well, if it was overtly incriminating towards MR at all, I doubt we would be 30 threads into this with LE not naming him a POI at the very least.

I do not see how that is so. When Mark said they got home and Dylan crashed. Did he send a message in his sleep?

I guess we just don't know. When Dylan laid down on the couch, MR probably went to his room. I know MR said Dylan went to bed early... but he didn't give a time did he?

I know when I stay with relatives and I'm ready for some "space" at the end of the night, I will say 'wow.. I'm so tired! Goodnight!'. But sometimes I'll stay up and surf the web, watch some tv, etc.

Unless that 9:37 text that went out from Dylan's phone said something like 'help!' or 'my dad is angry and/or drunk!'. or gave the impression that someone else typed it, then the timeframe corroborates MR's story even more.

Whether something happened past 8:00 pm or 9:37 pm that night doesn't change the fact that MR could be responsible. It still leaves a lot of time before he was seen in town the next morning. Either way, it doesn't "corroborate" MR story.

Not if they still need more to corroborate it...they are not going to show all of their cards until they are sure no one else has an ACE up their sleeve. They want charges to stick. JMO

It seems odd to me he did not send Dylan to bed if he was indeed that tired. The house seems tiny from the outside so what Mark just went to bed instead of relaxing in front of the tv because Dylan was on the couch . Makes much more logical sense to send Dylan to bed and then he could of done what Mark wanted to do instead of being confined to his room for the night :cow:

How does the text (if at 937 vs 927) corroborate MR's story? It still shows his last communication was Sunday night, MR said Dylan was there Monday morning. It just gives 10 more minutes. I'm confused.:what:

Corroborate:
Confirm or give support to (a statement, theory, or finding)

I see nothing to "confirm" or "support" MR's statement. It is just a statement. If anything, it becomes even more hinky when taking his statements about Dylan falling asleep right away vs falling asleep at the later time. POI's/suspects give statements all the time. Some of them lie. There is no way to confirm or support anything MR provided because no one else was in the home.

bbm Do you have a link for "being confined to his room for the night". I have not read that before. I would like to take a look at it. tia

If that text implicates or suggests more than MR told them, they would have been leaning on him, or trying to lean on him (re:turning up the heat publically) daily until he broke or hired a defense attorney. We would not be here three months later without a bona fide POI, and MR certainly wouldn't be conducting interviews on the local news.

I don't really feel comfortable making any assumptions about these details. We don't know if MR had a TV in his own room he could have watched. Or, if he wanted to hit the sack as well since he was also waking up quite early in the morning. Etc, etc.

I think when MR said Dylan hit the sack early-- maybe Dylan was asleep the second he laid down, maybe not. I don't expect that MR got right up close to his thirteen-year-old to make sure he was asleep.

I am not trying to defend MR, but I don't want my speculation about the details of that night to be based on assumptions.

My own opinion, to each his own! :seeya:

If it was sent from the home and DR sent it, it supports MR's timeline of events and confirms that Dylan was actually in the home. A bazillion folks in here have thus far refused to accept that he was even in the home. This would destroy that scenario.

how long was Drew Peterson giving interviews before he was arrested? You can have a bonafide POI and not engough evidence to arrest anyone.

IMO, nothing/no one can confirm or deny MR statements and by the looks of this case, LE has allowed the public heat to be raised by letting him dangle without any supporting words. We have only been here 2 months...although that is 2 months, too long, and LE rarely defines a POI/suspect these days. We've also seen plenty of POI's who give media interviews when they are the defacto suspects. Mean's nothing. JMO

It was my assumption hence the :cow:

If Dylan was asleep on the couch then i doubt he would want to wake his son up by making noise and moving around :cow:

That would be assuming it could be proven the signal from the cell or electronic device came from within the home.

It doesn't even make sense to me. Considering that 9News is waiting for Sweeps to start to air the interview, and is spending a couple of days to advertise it, it seems that they expect an increase in ratings for it. But telling their viewers there is a possibility that his PARENTS made him disappear...Why do they want people to think this is a custody battle? I mean, they just posted something new about Dylan and the first two comments are one word: "Parents".

Ugh, some idiot thinks Elaine and Cory are involved. -_- Her name is KR...ridiculous comment.

I agree, I don't think that headline is in very good taste. BUT... that heading might catch more people's attention than an ordinary one that simply stated this 13-yr. old child is still missing. That is probably the excuse that the media would make if asked why they worded it the way they did.
The goal is to get more viewers, it brings attention to him, and it ups their ratings. It irks me, too, but sometimes we have to take the bad with the good.

I have to respectfully disagree. There is NOTHING that verifies that Dylan was in the home, the timeline or the events, beyond MR words/statement. I personally don't believe him. On this alone, we must agree to disagree.

Very good point being made...

at 9:37PM Dylan should either have been at MR's home, OR it's possible he never made it there.

For Dylan to have arrived at MR's home after 9:37 would completely contradict MR's story... & suggest maybe he didn't make it at all.

Hopefully the police know what location this communication came from... as it seems it would either confirm that Dylan made it to Marks or show that Mark was lying about the night's timeline.

ETA: This is assuming LE believes Dylan is the one who sent this communication, rather than someone posing as him.
