Ok I have a text time stamped from my friend at 7:05. I replied then she replied (no time stamp) then a new time stamp of 7:15 as the conversation continued. This is on an iPhone.

I am still confused on what exactly he was doing to wake Dylan up.

in his earlier interviews he said he stirred around in the kitchen making noise trying to rouse him, etc.

So it took 10 minutes before a new time-stamp was generated?

I have seen it happen before (re: Mickey Shunick case and a few others to include Lisa Irwin, etc)

Less than 10 minutes. There's no way for me to tell exactly what time my reply and her reply were. Her reply was really long so that probably took her a couple of minutes to type and me to read, then reply.

Dylan's last texts with RN on his phone started at 8:01 not ended at 8:01. I'm trying to figure out how long that conversation could have gone without adding a new time stamp.

Lets say the time between the texts was something like 5 to 9 minutes with no time-stamp being left. That would make the exchange end between 8:50 and 9:30. That leaves little or no gap. MOO.

It's possible that the conversation (texts) went on for that long. I just read that although the phone may not date stamp each text the phone stores this information. I wonder if LE and/or Elaine could see the exact times of these texts from the provider info?

Their texting could have been finished by 8:10 (if they were immediate replies back and forth) or it could have gone on for much longer with lags in between(as Ranch stated).

I do believe the provider also can see when the phone shuts off. I'm really curious as to how long this conversation via texts with RN went on for. If they went until 9:30pm and the phone died (however) he might have picked up the iPod to continue. Interesting...
And this might explain the 9:27 text from RN not going through. Although if that's the case we know the conversation had to have ended prior to 9:17 or it wouldn't have shown the time stamp.

Im not phone savy like most of you but...
If he used his IPod there has to be WiFi right?
If he used his IPod to send this text this would not show up on phone records. There would be no record of this at all only on the i pod and the device that received the text.

Um... Like why hasn't that question been asked publicly by MSM? Simple inquiry, that's all, instead of the perceived (by me) tip-toeing around the topic. Sure would clear up 75% of what Websleuthers have been batting around since the "last text" at 8:01 pm was first reported in the beginning of 30 pages of discussion. That's all.

I am not Ranch, but I think he meant what specific question about the phone did you have.

My personal questions to Mark Redwine concerning the phone would be:
1) did Dylan's phone break or need charged?
2) did he plug his charger in?
3) did you see Dylan texting on his ipod?
4) did you see Dylan's phone before you left that morning?

This is an interesting little read!

The pronoun "I" needs to be given special focus in the subject statement. Most people will reply in the first person, i.e. "I". Any deviation from that would be a subconscious indicator and red flag of deception. When someone answers a question untruthfully concerning themselves, they will sometimes subconsciously attempt to draw focus away from themselves by avoiding the use of the first person pronoun, "I". This could include words such as "we", "it", "they", "them", ""the other", or even "it"

The last text on Dylan's phone was NOT at 8:01. The conversation STARTED at 8:01. Just wanted to clear that up because I keep seeing this being said over and over (and at one time that's what I thought too).
