"would" and "never" are unreliable and the most commonly used in deception.

folks: we don't allow that statement analysis link

I want to say this and ya'll can bash me if you want but I did try to watch
open mindedly and without pre conceptions ! I feel much LESS suspicious
about MR today than I did a week ago. Does anyone else feel that way ?
I mean it's totally suspicious all of the circumstances and changing things
and I get that he's the most logical poi at this moment. But I do not feel
as much like he's a " fill n the blank " as I did a week ago. To me, he fared
well in the interviews. Still don't think the redeyes are from tears though .

I would agree that he fared well in the few minutes we saw on tv and I suppose if he had faltered, THAT is what Blasius would have included. But I don't read him the same. I just feel like MR is getting used to the lie. This morning, regardless of MR or some other suspect, I feel much, much worse about Dylan's fate and that leaves me tremendously sad. It is the reality a few WSers have warned about and it's very much with me today, the idea that Dylan is dead.

So LE believes there is a good chance Dylan was abducted by a stranger? Boy, they could have fooled me for the past two-plus months.

If so, this one goes unsolved, IMO. I did not get the impression at all that they have a suspect in this theoretical abduction.

I cannot wrap my brain around why they wouldn't do press conferences, issue statements, basically anything to get more news coverage if they thought this was a stranger abduction.

I have heard those words used by both parents and his friends.

Me either. But they put it out there after all this time. So either they are bluffing, or clueless about what happened to him. Still, if they really believe there is an equally good chance of a random abduction, they have, IMO, handled this case horribly. They have watched it disintegrate into a fight between parents, making it look like a messy custody case. And said, basically, nothing.

Well I did finally watch it. I honestly don't know what to think. There's nothing there to make me feel one way or the other about either of them.

  • #768
I still think the buck stops at MR :cow:

I just can not fathom Dylan setting out on his merry way without contacting R with his rucksack and a Fishing pole . And along the road the first person to come across him is a would be kidnapper . It is beyond the relm of unlikely when the crime stats have never delt with a case like this there ( from what I can remember when people looked into it ).

I truly don't think they know.

But most parents would claim they "would never hurt their children". I mean, I would never do anything to hurt my boys. I would never do anything to cause them pain.

Perhaps they are most commonly used in deception, because they are simply most commonly used full stop. I'd have thought they'd be most commonly used in truthful statements too.

I think its better to say I DID not hurt my son

I agree Hes comfortable with his story now.
I thought Dylan left us on day one sadly!
they need to find him and return him to his mother!

Saying it that way would mean to me that he didn't hurt his son this time but he has in the past. JMO.

In order to know a person's normal speech patterns and how they say things you have to know the person or have access to more than one example and situation of how they speak.

Statement analysis without background into how a person normally expresses themselves is just speculation and lumping one word into a category.

Well they are asking about THIS time. NOW. Not if he would
they never said would you hurt your son they said did you hurt your son..

Im just telling you what these deception alalysis things are saying
Things LE looks for red flags.
Its very interesting

I'm thinking about Dylan laying down on the couch Sunday night and his phone dying.

Ever need to plug your phone in, but you won't be able to reach it from the couch to continue texting while it is plugged into the wall? (outlet across the room)

Could this be why he may have just picked up his Ipod and started messaging from that? The question is, why did the phone never turn back on?

Did Dylan mean to plug the phone in before he fell asleep, but failed to do so? Did he plug the phone into the wall & not realize it was not charging (faulty outlet, kaput battery, ??)?

Just thinkin.. :waitasec:
