Could it have been incoming rather than outgoing?
I think that's possible.
Could it have been incoming rather than outgoing?
And now that we KNOW he could text from the house, and his phone was fine that night, and not left in the truck, or lost in the yard---it makes even less sense that he never texted his friends that morning. If he had time to watch cartoons and eat cereal then he had time to reach out to his buddies that were waiting for him. JMO

Where are we getting that Dylan's phone was fine that night?
From MR saying Dylan was texting when MR retired for the evening at 10;30, after the movie I suppose. MR must have believed the phone was fine if it's true that he tried texting Dylan all afternoon after he arrived home at 11:30 Monday morning.

Yes. Could be no texts or calls whatsoever.
Sorry. I could guess or assume along with others, but on the pings, I'm going to wait to hear from LE definitively when they stopped.
and don't forget the SO at the camp grounds

From the mouth of Mark Redwine..
I think that it's more than likely that at 10:30 Dylan was playing a game on his iPod and Mark mistakenly thought that he was texting.
Maybe Mark did believe that Dylan's phone was working fine because Dylan never told him otherwise. MOO.
Not having a working phone would be a major issue for any teenager.
Especially one traveling. So I find that hard to believe.
Have not found it yet. Still looking. There is a post at the top left asking for a Websleuths member to contact her. ????

Recent article says 9:37 pm was an outgoing communication.

IMO about a ,0000001% chance of someone passing by.
If anything, more likely to be a local who saw MR leave alone.
