BBM

So here's a good question (imo) - has LE ever referred to an "electronic communication device" before? Or did they heretofore refer simply to a cell phone? Why use that explicit term?

Good question! I have not seen them refer to an electronic device communication before and all prior statements talked about the cell phone.

I thought this really stood out when they made this statement that they were specifically not saying which device and for a reason. Another reason why I don't think it's the cell phone.

I honestly don't believe LE is lying about the 9:37 electronic device communication. I was just wondering why they would release this info. How would that benefit their investigation? There are many other things that surely they know (such as pings) and they are not releasing those details.

So to me there was a 9:37 electronic device communication by what appeared to be Dylan and that is all I know.

Actually, I think the release of the info was really a release of non-info. The rally was coming up and they needed to get something out there. What are they going to give? Information that is information already given is a great tool.

I'm more interested in how they say things and what they don't say. IIRC, they changed their entire timeline, it now stops on Sunday. It no longer goes into Monday when MR said he got home. That, to me, says a lot.

MR is not considered a suspect vs. We have not named MR a suspect. (I can't remember how it was they said it but this is the idea)

Elaine has every reason to lie if LE tells her that might benefit
finding Dylan and/ or finding the person responsible for his disappearance.

But Elaine wouldn't have to lie. She could easily say 'I'm not allowed to discuss this' or 'LE asked me not to discuss this'. Simple.

:great: HA! that time I typed faster than you

yeah you did, but in my defense, I'm at work and actually getting a lot of work done today!! :great:

I'm not saying she is lying, maybe she's misinformed?

Why would Elaine lie?

Elaine says last cell phone activity shortly after 8pm
MB says last cell phone activity at 9:37pm

When was the last time Elaine said the last contact was 8pm ?

things may of changed . If the woman says she double checked the facts then i believe her. I can not see her giving out false info.

Where did she get her info?

Why dont you tweet her and ask?

I believe her and do not see her going around giving out false info :)

I think it was specifically worded and very purposeful. Perhaps to see if someone might add to their story that at approx 9:30-10:00 Dylan was on the computer or Dylan was on the iPod or Dylan was on the cell phone and LE could see if it matched up with the proper device.

I believe she said it in the recent MB interview IIRC and she stated shortly after 8 or 8:10pm or something like that?

I read that too! It was a great article, especially about the eye movements. I have some interviews tonight to do and I'm using this. There is one person that I don't trust as far as I can pick her up and throw her, but she says she's changed. Her & her husband were big time swindlers, liars, cheats & oppotunist. I doubt she changed. Big clue for me, you can never walk up to her and just touch her (like put your hand on her shoulder to get her attention) she jumps and lets out a little scream. (nothing says guilt more than jumpy nerves)

Awww Grandma, that's not necessarily true. I have an anxiety and panic disorder and I jump sometimes when someone touches me and I'm not guilty of much. So... keep that in mind. Lots of emotional conditions can cause jumpiness. In fact, I was thinking about myself when MR said he was up pacing around the house and couldn't finish the movie. I can NOT sit for a 2 hour movie. I have to get up several times to MOVE and use up some adrenaline or I'll climb the walls !

So you believe Elaine is giving false info?

If LE asked Elaine to not talk about the 9:37 text she could simply say she's not allowed to discuss when his last cell phone usage was. But she doesn't and she keeps saying activity on his cell phone stopped shortly after 8pm (which coincides with RN's screen shots).

Is there, by any chance, a time zone difference here? If so, this could account for the time discrepancies.

Being from Canada, I'm not as familiar with the US time zones, so I'm wondering if the time where ER is and where MR lives is different?

Just a thought.

Just like with lie detectors, I would say that those on certain medications and those with certain health issues are exempt.

No it's the same.

I wonder if LE wouldn't 'accidentally' leak the info of it being the cell phone to see if this was added later to a certain someone's story. It's not an out and out lie and it would be very crafty :)

Client / Attorney privledge. The attorney cannot discuss anything. (a couple of exceptions)

I found this really quickly but it is pretty clear http://www.sgrlaw.com/resources/trust_the_leaders/leaders_issues/ttl5/916/

However an exception would be if the content of their communication was used to further a crime or fraud so if LE had reasonable suspicion that the content of those papers might provide the motive to cause Dylan's disappearance the privilege may be waived.

I understand that it can be a side effect of several things, but this woman jumps and screams (like a mouse) EVERYtime. You'd have to see it to believe it, and I really don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth. It's going to be hard. (especially since I was the one that almost got her & her husband arrested) They conned an elderly woman out of a vehicle telling her it was worthless. It wasn't. And that is perhaps the nicest thing they did since I've known them.

And MR stated they left McDonald's around 7:30 and it's about a 45 minute drive home and they arrived home around 8:15-8:30ish (he never pays attention to clocks) and there isn't cell phone service between Durango and the lake. How was Dylan texting Ryan at 8:01?

O/T - I want to clarify that I do NOT believe MB lied or anything like that at all. I do believe that it is possible that with so many interviews (I think she said 7 people) that she made a mistake and an honest human mistake. I believe she has done a wonderful job on these interviews and appreciate all her work.

Gotta go, my boss doesn't pay me for overtime :)

 Me too! It's dang embarrassing when a neighbor says "Hi" from behind me and I scream. :blushing:

Nowadays my DH hears me scream and merely asks, "Which cat spooked you this time?" I've got one that plays psycho with me from behind the shower curtain. :banghead:
