And my big question is WHY did they release this information about the 9:37 electronic device communication?

Surely they have other information such as ping details that they are not releasing. So why share this info with the public?

To let someone KNOW that they KNOW!

Could Dylan have used Dads phone to find his own phone?

The reporter is the individual who is causing the confusion because she is the one who stated it was the cellphone (something along the lines of LE is only talking about Dylan's cellphone).

Anyway, her information is suspect since it is not from first-hand knowledge.

I'm not sure where she is getting her info. It's possible that she's correct. Or it's possible that LE told her it was a sent text and she assumed it was from the cell phone. Most people hear text and assume that = cell phone.

I hate to question what she says because she's been so generous to upload the raw video for us.

And I wanted to add that I've seen comments about her interview bloopers and to be fair we all have to remember that this is the RAW uncut version. I think if we were to see uncut interviews from other reporters we would see similar.

That's the only logical answer I can come up with. I know we here at WS would like to think that LE released that info just to give us something new to talk about...but nope...I don't think so. :great:

Who would that someone be and why wouldn't that someone already know that LE knows? Considering that LE is able to track messages, and everyone presumably knows that? If LE already knows who that someone is, why wouldn't they tell him or her personally that they know about that message?

Why would LE release that time of the communication just to let someone know they know? Makes no sense to me. They must know who it was to, or from, so they could just tell that person "we know"...

Happy 14th Birthday, Dylan wherever you are.. I will hold onto hope until it is no more, but my heart and mind realistically know its likely Dylan is gone from this earth.. if so keep soaring ever higher with the angels, Dylan.. Your mom and brother will ensure that you are found and justice served for what's been done to you.

BBM - LE doesn't necessarily tell the public the truth. They also don't tell any suspect everything they know. It's amazing how many people (criminals) get p-o'd when they don't get credit when credit is due.

There was an investigation ID show where the suspect had distinctive bite markings.
LE exhumed a body for the purpose of getting molds of teeth bites off the woman. They made a huge scene at the grave in front of all the media about all the technology available. The DA later made statements to the press about how wonderful the evidence collected was. Truth is the evidence wasn't as good as they thought it would be and all they had to really use were the original coroner photos.
The guy ended up calling in to LE to "help" them out with the case. Allowed them to take impressions of his teeth even! He really just wanted to find out what they knew and he was so smug about it that he thought they would not catch him. He's got plenty of time in prison to re-think that one.

Thank You AZGrandma!

So, this individual is not a problem-solver (unreasonable solutions are not effective solutions) and has a tendency to deflect blame (which can easily be seen through his current words and actions).

Not having the capability to solve problems often leads to an individual feeling that he/she has no control over his/her environment or circumstances.

Not being willing to accept your own culpability in the face of difficulties often leads to misplaced anger, and, unfortunately, those closest in proximity are the most likely to be the target of that anger.

These traits are a volatile combination. Purely speculation, but there are a number of reasonable scenarios which could explain this child's disappearance @ the hands of his father on the evening in question.

If Mr. Redwine were shown to be a well-balanced individual who has the propensity toward self-reflection, then I could make a leap of faith and seriously entertain the idea of an abduction by a random perpetrator. But, in cases such as this, there are ALWAYS tells.

LE needs to get MR into the station and grill him hard. I truly don't see how this situation will be resolved any other way.

I believe you are spot on! My daughter's father is that way and never makes a decision so that whoever does make it gets blamed if things go wrong and he can have an uncontrolled temper.

Does anyone here know any LE or know how to find out about the papers MR and attorney were preparing to file? I have a serious gut feeling it is related to whatever happened. But of course I could be wrong.

I just thought this was cool, a vigil tonight at jessica ridgeway park for Dylan.

I don't see how the sent text could have come from Dylan's phone and Elaine not know about it. It's possible that LE told her to keep it hush hush but I don't think she would be so adamant about the cell phone activity ending shortly after 8pm. Does anyone have Verizon? Can you go to your account online and see text details of any sort? I have Sprint and I can see my call details but no text details.

Until LE makes a statement saying the 9:37 text was sent from Dylan's phone I'm just not buying it.

Yes you can, but I have noticed they aren't always accurate with the texts. The phone calls seem right though.

I think most people are aware that cell phone records, pings, texts etc are easy to obtain by LE, but I don't know that most people would think a text sent on something such as an iPod could be traced.

And as azgrandma just pointed out, perhaps no such 9:37 text exists and it was basically a set up to see if maybe someone would come forward and say 'oh ya Dylan got his iPod out and starting messaging his friends on that'. I think it would be rare for them to out and out lie about it though. They may play some games but I don't know if they would out and out lie about it.

...

I don't see any reason for LE to directly lie to the public about a message, if there was no message at 9:37 pm.

They may have told this person. Perhaps they wanted to see if someone's story might change based on this new information?

If LE wanted someone to know about a message, and they knew who that someone is, they can directly tell that someone about a message. They don't need to release that information to the public. They are also not going to lie to public about something as specific as a message at 9:37 pm.
