I'm off to bed for the night. Reminding everyone to say their evening prayers for DR and all of his family members.

I sure hope the weather permits the dogs to go out looking for the next couple of weeks.

And I recalled correctly. MR didn't claim that he turned on the TV.
"The next morning, Dylan was sleeping on the couch where Mark Redwine now sits and where Dylan's blankets still lie jumbled. Mark said he waited until 7:30 a.m. but still couldn't rouse his son, so he told him he would return about 11. When he got back at 11:30, his son's dirty cereal bowl was beside the sink. The television was on Nickelodeon. His son's fishing pole was gone. So was his black-and-gray backpack. A few articles of clothing were left behind on the couch."

I am not only thinking about the tone of their divorce, but the possibility that someone on that end (Elaine and Cory's) knew DR would be with his father, but that that person was not sent to get DR by Elaine and Cory. Know what I mean? The person, unbeknownst to Elaine and Cory, had improper designs on DR while he was in Elaine's care and then followed him to Vallecito. It isn't hard to find MR's address on-line. Anyone could easily find out where DR was going to be staying by doing a simple search on the computer.

Why would this person think they would have a better opportunity there, than in his own hometown? Dylan was only left alone by chance.

And why would someone drive six hours?

They've only lived in CS since July, I doubt that most of their friends are in that area. MOO

It boggles my mind that anyone can consider ER having any knowledge or involvement, on any level. JMO

Jose Baez that represented Casey Anthony was scheduled to appear this coming Wendsday on the Dr Phil show, he's been rescheduled for Friday, The Alabama boy Rescued from the underground bunker will be Featured on this Wendsday show.

So apparently something has caused the cancelation.

As far as I recall, the article simply said TV was on Nickelodeon, not that MR turned anything on.
He said the TV was on the Nickelodeon channel. He did not say the TV was left on. He wouldn't have known it was on Nick until the next time he turned on the TV. I was simply stating that the TV was not on, as in blaring away.

He said the TV was on the Nickelodeon channel. He did not say the TV was left on.

I already posted a link to an article that said TV was on Nickelodeon.
Whatever that means. It said nothing about a channel. I am not aware of any interviews in which MR claimed TV was left on Nickelodeon channel. In the most recent one he didn't talk about what he found when he came back at all.

There's not a confirmed link, I'm making that based on prior discussions about possibly being a Truck Driver, after listening to the uncut interview and my knowledge of being a former over the Road Driver, I'm 99 percent positive he drives a Tractor Trailer.

Wasn't it in this interview though where he talks about people saying that he was crazy for wanting to drive clear across the country to go to the stadium?

From his comments, I took that he would be driving his own vehicle. It wouldn't be a trip he made while he was working.

I have been curious about his job also. I have a friend that drives over the road and listen to him talk about how demanding the job is. They are always short of drivers, want him to work more hours than what is legally allowed and he is under a lot of pressure to get the load delivered in time. Then he has to make sure that he picks up his load on time coming back. He gets very little sleep.

I thought maybe MR had a more construction type job that required him to travel to different locations and work on the job until it was completed. Maybe something to do with laying pipe. I forgot the name of the company, but I was going to read more about it to try and get a better understanding of his job situation.

It was also my understanding that he worked on site and that he traveled to those work sites. It may have been on the official FB page; I thought someone he worked with posted about their jobs.

So MR comes home at 11:30 am and Nickelodeon is on. It has to be a channel because how would MR know what DR may have been watching? It wouldn't be the same show at 11:30 because Dylan was already gone. Make sense?

FWIW I understood what you meant and that's how I read it as well. Right now my tv's off but you could say my tv's "on the Food Network" because that's what I was last watching when I turned it off, and what you'd see if you turned it back on.

Given Nickelodeon's morning programming it actually makes way more sense to me that maybe he was watching "Nick at Night" the night before and turned it off when he went to bed, or the TV automatically shut off (mine does that after a set amount of time, not sure how common that is). The morning cartoons on that channel seem to be targeted for much younger kids, although I know there's more than one Nickelodeon channel.

PURE SPECULATION: if I assume MR's telling the truth, DR watching Nick@Night, eating some cereal as a snack, doing some texting or phone/iPod video game playing, then going to sleep on the couch - maybe a little later than planned - is actually starting to make some kind of sense to me. Unfortunately it doesn't give me any thoughts where he might be or what might've happened :( but it's the first time I've even felt like I had some picture of what DR might've realistically done that night after they got home (if they did).

bbm Yes, I have considered that possibility myself. Here is an example from my own life with my one of my own kids where I got kinda scared and put a halt to freely visiting friends. Please note that I am not saying other people or even Elaine should make the decision I have made. Every family has to do what they are comfortable with.

I allowed my daughter to go to a friends home where I thought both parents would be supervising not only my daughter, their child - my daughter's friend, but all the other kids who were supposed to be there according to what I was told. First hinky meter went off upon dropping her off. No other kids were there, the mother went shopping (What? I thought both parents would be there). The dad which our family knows from a mutual activity was the only adult there. Because our families are somewhat acquainted, I did leave her there only after being assured the other kids were late. One lived a few houses down and had not arrived yet.

Later, after picking my daughter up and talking about the time spent at her friends, second hinky meter going ding ding ding … she said her friend wanted to go a few houses down to get the other friend and wanted her to go along. I gasped inside my mind and was about to blow until she told me she said she did not want to go along. So here she was left alone with the dad while the friend went to retrieve the other friend and they were waiting on all the other friends to arrive.

My concerns were: being left alone with the dad, I do not think the friend should have left the home while my daughter was visiting; now what if she did go along to the other friends house who our family does not know? we do not know who lives there, who visits there, KWIM? what if she did go along and some pervert lived at that house or visited that house, took a shining to her, then starting hanging around to get information about her like name, where she lives, what activities she goes to, where, and when. ok what if that did happen, the guy hangs around, would she consider this person a stranger if she saw him in another setting? If this person said hey so and so told me to come pick you up, your mother said it is ok - what would she do.

Now, let's take my daughter out of the above and put Dylan in. I think it is highly possible that this could have happened to Dylan. NO Family whatsoever involved.

Do any of you have what I call the revolving front door meaning that friends, family, friend of a friend of a friend may be at your home at anytime. Some people are highly sociable and love constant contact with others. What if Dylan was at homes like this. Please note I am not being critical at all. To each his own. If he was, this could have been another source of a potential pervert to overhear or even be a part of a conversation about Dylan's Thanksgiving at his dad's. Plan put into action to get Dylan at the first opportunity. The entire family would be completely unaware.

As always, praying for Dylan's safe return. :please:

MR said in his interview that DR liked to hang out at the campground down the street from his house. Were there any campers at the time? Did anyone check out the day DR went missing?

Are there any hiking trails in the area that DR might have decided to go on while waiting for his dad to return from his errands? Could he have fallen off of a cliff somewhere along a hiking trail? (I have seen this one the news before.)

Has the river across from MR's house been checked all the way to the lake?

Are there bears or mountain lions in the area in November?

Did anyone come to Vallecito to apply for a job on the day DR went missing?

Did anyone in Vallecito have company visiting for the day/holidays that might have left the day DR went missing?

Just some thoughts....

These are all great questions. When I was looking at the map of the area earlier, I had many similar thoughts. The campground at the end of the road MR lives on didn't set well with me for some reason. I'm going to take more time to look at the maps and hope that they have some luck with the dogs this week. There is a lot of area to cover around there.

It boggles my mind that anyone can consider ER having any knowledge or involvement, on any level. JMO

IMO every time ER's name is mentioned, it isn't to connect her with Dylan's disappearance. I think that is misunderstood often - I believe most mums would be relating very sympathetically to her pain. I personally find it unimaginable, and like many of you I probably sit here wondering if I would carry myself as well as she does. I could see myself unable to step out the door and face anybody - though I don't think any of us really know what our physical, mental and emotional state would be in that terrible situation.

I do see ER mentioned every now and then so that posters can compare and contrast what has been said by both parents and friends. In some instances we are agreeing something must be true if their opinions are the same, and also questioning why they might differ. IMO I do see it's valid to also question why certain mannerisms, or words are acceptable from one parent, but not the other - it isn't necessarily making accusations, but maybe highlighting the unfairness of not treating opinions and experiences with the same respect or even trust.

In Bobby-Dan's post she was speculating that someone that someone possibly known to ER and her Colorado Springs family might be involved - but without her knowledge. It's similar to speculating that an acquaintance of MR may be involved somehow.

I'm going back through some old articles and thought I would bring some attention to somethings again.
http://www.durangoherald.com/article/20121124/NEWS01/121129756/Mystery-lingers-over-missing-teen
Ryan and friends FS and WH were part of a group of residents Saturday going door-to-door in Bayfield on County Road 502, handing out fliers with information about Dylan.

“We asked (residents) about any sheds or barns where he could take shelter,” F said.

The boys said Dylan wasn’t shy about hitching rides.

“Honestly, I think he was walking into Bayfield and got taken away,” he said.

W agreed.

“I don’t think he’s one to run away,” he said.

At one time, all four friends attended Bayfield Middle School. Bender said in the news release that “Bayfield is where Dylan spent much of his time when he lived in the area until this past summer when he, his mother and his brother moved to Colorado Springs.”

I find the comments by the parents in this article puzzling. They say complete opposite things about what Dylan's interests are.
http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_22063185/sunday-search-launched-missing-boy-laplata-county

Elaine Redwine couldn't be reached for comment. She told The Durango Herald that Dylan didn't like Vallecito's rural surroundings.
She told the newspaper that Dylan is "a generational kid and tech-savvy" and wouldn't have gone to the woods.
Mark Redwine said his son is the type of kid who would go into the wild to fish or hike.
"I would describe him as being an athletic type of kid who loves being outdoors," he said.

So, I wonder if Dylan spent more time doing outdoor type things with his friends in Bayfield and when he moved to the bigger city became a more "generational" kid as ER describes him? I could see Dylan missing his friends and their activities in Bayfield. Maybe he did get up and grab all his stuff and take off, hoping that he could spend the rest of the time he was there with his friends. Maybe MR told him in the morning if you don't get up and go with me now, I'm not going back into town later.

I was not referring to any specific post, but I have seen several, implying, without saying, that ER or her fiancé could be the culprits.

The timing involved leaves almost no chance of anyone who was not right there on the spot, to happen upon Dylan alone, when he should have been long gone to meet R. Imagining a friend of ER's creeping around Vallecito in the hopes of catching him alone is beyond ludicrous to me. If someone ER knows wanted Dylan that badly, many more opportunities would arise where he actually lives.
