I'd like to know if Dylan's prints were on the DVD they purchased and/or on the DVD player. That would go a long way in determining whether or not he made it to the house that night.

Great point! Especially the player, or the remote. Those should be really fresh prints, or fresh at the time anyway. I kept thinking it'd be hard to tell if his prints were from Labor Day or Thanksgiving visits but if there are prints on this particular DVD or super fresh prints on the remote, that says a lot IMO.

My thought about about MR's errand to his divorce lawyer on monday is that the meeting had something to do with his possible/probable child support obligation. They had been divorced for some time.

I think the remote would probably be out as MR probably has been watching updates on the news but probably not the player. BTW I posted an article a couple weeks ago that show they date fingerprints somewhat. In this case, they could definitely tell if those fingerprints were from Labor Day vs. Nov. :great:

I don't think we can see a backpack on Dylan in the Walmart photo? The cctv grab where a floppy backpack is visible from the side is the shot from the Durango airport. Are people confusing the two pics? If anyone has a link to a clearer Walmart photo showing the backpack, could you please post it here - TIA :)

Oh! You're right. I don't see one in the Walmart pic now that I look at it again. I still stand by my thought that some kids are pretty glued to their backpacks, so it wouldn't be weird to me to see him with a backpack in both places, but it does seem he may have one on in the airport but not the Walmart photo.

Aaron Martin has been missing from Arvada, Colorado since the end of October. There are probably others but Aaron is the only one I can think of at the moment.

Oops thinking of the other guy... They have not found him

Yeh, when I read that, it was the first time I saw ANY reference to him having a backpack on at WalMart. He didn't have it on there. The picture was blurry so you couldn't really see for sure but to my knowledge it's NEVER been verified he had it on at WalMart, just the airport capture.

A lot of stores do not allow backpacks, at least where I live, near a high school. The stores have signs advising them to leave their backpacks at the front of the store, for fear of shoplifting.

I would be more interested in the DVDs from that night, if they did infact watch a movie, or Dylan watched another after the Father went to bed. Dylan's fingerprints should be on the actual DVD.

Anyone know the history of what happened to the DVD movies ?

He wasn't still making plans to see his friends. That is very clear from the timing of text messages.

Right. By 7:09 p.m. RN knew that Dylan could not come to his house that night.

Sooo............ where were MR and Dylan at that point? Still at the WalMart? Probably because they were at McDonalds at 7:22 p.m. and they just did the drive through. Does the McDonalds have long lines in Durango. Could they have been in the drive through for 13 minutes? Doesn't sound like that long. Maybe they were?

Not really directed at you jjenny - I'm just puzzling this out.....

My thought is that it had something to do with the missed flight on Saturday, delaying DR's arrival until Sunday.

Wasn't the Saturday flight cancelled due to some mechanical problem? And Sunday was delayed due to a mechanical problem? That doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the airline.

It was actually at 6:43pm that Dylan responded that he couldn't come to meet RN.

So it appears that Dylan asked to go to his friends prior to going to the Walmart and was told no. Possibly this conversation took place right from the airport.

At 7:05pm they were at Walmart so that is likely where he was when he responded to the second text from RN.

I am sure Dylan would have told MR right from the airport. Because MR would have to take a different route to drive him to Bayfield than the one he took to Walmart and McDonalds.

Thanks. With all the speculation about how Mark drove a dead Dylan to CS and dumped him in his mother's back yard for revenge, I'm worried. I read about the db last night but didn't at all for one minute think it was Dylan.

the thought never struck me til the body was found. then I just tried to make it connect. it would be diabolical if that's what he did. diabolical.

but now the question has been asked - what was MR doing Tues/Wed after DR went missing and on T'day too? COULD he have done something like that even if it it isn't this particular body? Did he drive anywhere? where would he have done something like this if he did?

Yes and I thought that originally it was noted that this conversation about visiting the friends took place after they went to Walmart and McDonalds and Dylan was told at that time that it was too late.

I have no idea if that was actually stated by MR in one of his interviews or in one of the media quotes. Anyone else remember that?

I think if he did it, something happened after McDonalds and before they got home. I think this is why there is no evidence and some think if he did this he committed the perfect crime. I don't think IF he did something to Dylan, that he transported him anywhere. I think Dylan is where it happened and somewhere between Durango and Vallecito. And closer to Durango. JMHO
I do feel like the 8:01 texts were probably Dylan and obviously LE has those pings. Where was the phone pinging? In Durango or Vallecito or somewhere in between?
I think the 9:37 text was not Dylan and probably came from MR's home. I've asked over and over if cadaver dogs were used on MR's trucks or home and never gotten an answer. I don't think the dogs that were at his house that first night were cadaver dogs. There would have been no reason to bring in cadaver dogs at that time. They thought he might have ran away at this time. So the dogs must have been scent dogs brought in to track his scent. There would be no evidence of a crime in MR's vehicles if the crime happened outside the vehicle and he was not transported anywhere.

I agree with every aspect of this theory. and I don't know how he pulled off the perfect crime, unless as you said, it occurred outside the vehicle.

Regarding the perfect crime. I have no idea why people think there is always evidence. Maybe they watch too much CSI.
There was virtually no physical evidence against Scott Peterson, for example.
The only thing found was hair in the pliers. And since there is such a thing as hair transfer, that is not even highly convincing evidence.
Obviously something happened to Dylan yet apparently there is no evidence of anything. But I don't think he was abducted by aliens.

Thankfully the cell phone, or lack of it and Dylan communicating with the tower enables Law Enforcement a timeframe that needs to be resolved.
