I can respect what your saying. I just feel that the only people that don't want to talk to any type of police are those that have something to hide or have a past that involves the police in some fashion. I don't personally believe a person would sit on info of a missing child's case this long just because they don't like to talk to the police. JMO

BBM or people who are here illegally, IMO. I guess that might count under "something to hide" but it was the first thing that came to my mind. It might be obvious I'm from California. :)

I respect what you're saying as well, but I can't help but think that there could be plenty of people who just simply choose not to get involved. Sadly, I think it happens all the time.

Because the man they say may have seen something related to DR's disappearance was purportedly seen Monday AM and not Sunday night. If it is true that this man exists and did see something, it suggests that the timeline shifts to Monday AM regardless of who is ultimately responsible.

"In some capacity' means 'in some capacity'. There are a few 'capacities' in which one could leave someone's premises.

However, I am inclined to believe that if this turns out to be true, that the capacity with which Dylan left was 'alive and voluntary' or at least 'alive'. Which then perhaps turned into something else that this man may have peripherally witnessed, or at worst was directly involved in. Just theorizing, of course.

jmo but I see nothing to indicate that ANYONE saw ANYTHING.. I see LE doing their job in encouraging anyone in the area BEFORE OR AFTER Dylan disappeared to speak with them, such as the Hispanic male that someone recalls was in need of gas on Monday, 11/19.. and I'm glad to see they're doing their job in following up on everything possible..

on another note.. Regarding the family and imagine what they're feeling about this?..:waitasec:.. I'm unsure how or what they'd be feeling about learning(if they were previously unaware) that there was a Hispanic male in need of gas on the day that Dylan was reported missing.. TMK other than this male being in this area in need if gas on 11/19 there is nothing at all indicating that he is even a relevant factor. jmo.

and as far as people here "taking away this chance from Dylan" IMO there is no one here wanting, attempting, or even capable of "taking away.." due to the fact that its LE that is investigating and determining who, what, where is relevant and involved in Dylan's case.. Our discussing our opinions on a Hispanic male in need of gas does not deter, nor in any way prevent or prohibit the LE Agencies from doing their thorough job of imvestigating this case. jmo.

I don't know how to get everyone's posts quoted into one page so I'll just say... I agree that it could have been someone that was here illegally that saw the Hispanic male.

I wonder why they would say this? BBM Why would they say anyone matching this description who was in the Vallecito area on SUNDAY OR MONDAY, when the tipster saw him on Monday. Do they have reason to believe he was in Vallecito on Sunday too?

La Plata County Sheriff's Office is hoping the man might be a potential witness and not realize it. Anyone matching this description who was in the Vallecito area on Sunday or Monday, Nov. 18 or 19 is asked to contact La Plata Sheriff’s Office.

It's probably not important, but I don't like not having the facts straight. I wonder if the guy was looking for a place to rent, or if he was looking to buy a place as a rental property. :waitasec:

It's probably very important. I assumed rental properties for sale and I saw that others assumed properties for rent.

My stupid guess, he arrived on Sunday to look at property on Monday.

Um how would they know when they haven't talked to him? Unless he told the tipster this maybe?

My stupid guess again.. Maybe he was seen in the area on Sunday also.

Going back to Bender's exact words:

“If anyone feels they may have seen something unusual in Vallecito before or soon after Dylan was reported missing, we encourage them, including the man looking for rentals that day, to contact the Sheriff’s Office," Dan Bender, La Plata County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer said.

I just asked the same thing. That's why I'm curious about the time of the sighting. Wouldn't releasing that information be helpful in jogging memories? Was it so early in the AM that it is assumed he was probably there over night? I don't know, maybe the two day window is just a generous estimate, but I did notice that as well.

Another article.

“That may not amount to anything, but it also gave us an opportunity” to ask anyone who may have seen anything unusual before or after Dylan disappeared to contact authorities, Bender said. Dylan turned 14 years old last week.

snip

“It’s still an ongoing investigation,” Bender said. “It’s not something that we’ve closed the file on and put aside. We have investigators working on it on a daily basis.”

Bender said the number of calls to the tip line has dropped dramatically.

"We were getting a two-inch stack a day when the case was in its first few weeks and that has since dwindled to … two or three a day," he said.

I think it just gives a little more of a time frame for people to think about anything that they may have seen that was suspicious or anyone acting suspicious. I imagine there were more people around over the weekend.

I'm curious if there is much of a Hispanic population in that area.

I get the impression that LE is trying to jog memories if they seen anything at all, strangers, vehicles with out of state plates.. Someone just cruising the streets.. Anything.. It could be a small detail that could break this case wide open. You never know what people have seen, forget about and then remember little details and say I wonder if this can be of any help to the LE..it happens all the time.

If he was, I wonder if anyone may have seen him at the campground Sunday night.

That could be a possibility, he may have been looking for rental property there if there is a lot of hunting in that area.

Because someone is sighted on Monday doesn't mean they were not in the area on Sunday as well. That's probably one of the questions LE wants to ask. " how long were u around here ". Also because LE wants to speak to a man seen on Monday doesn't mean that LE knows for a fact MR is telling the truth and DR disappeared from his house after 7:30 on Monday morning. The guy may know nothing. The guy may know everything ! This case is beginning to sound like a david lynch movie ......and not in the entertaining way ....more like the ' turn it off , my brain is bleeding' way . :(
