So is it possible there are 2 people who need talking to ? Hispanic man and people looking at rental property ? Also earlier it was said that this man walked out of the woods and back into the woods, was that a FB rumor because I didn't notice it in the press. tks

I think it was FB rumor. :blushing:

If LE interviewed him, I would think they would try to trip him up or whatever to see if he was falsifying his information. I just don't think they would release this information if they felt it was hoaxy. KWIM

And dammit, y'all don't talk too much. I have 2 exams tomorrow and really need to go to bed.

Thinking of Dylan....

I think reporter got the date wrong. You know, it was almost 3 months ago. So that's why I am curious as to how someone is going remember the exact date.

Haha! The reporter can't even remember the date!

Actually I'm thinking (hoping?) it's just a typo.

While the hinky meter is running I can't see somebody falsifying this tip. Who would do that?

  • #184
What I am trying to figure out is how did MO the PI know about this tip before it was even called in to LE over the weekend? He posted on the FMDR page prior to the weekend that there was a hispanic male seen by MR's house early in the morning hours of the 19th that LE was looking for. Hmmm...how would he know this prior to LE knowing this? My hinky meter is running...

I personally think maybe the PI is interviewing people and maybe asking different questions or for all we know the tipster could have said he had already given that info to LE and LE had to backtrack. Who knows. I just don't think LE is going to willynilly release something they don't believe could help.

Thank you Smooth Operator and Rebeccee for your analyses of Mark Redwine's interview with Melissa. Guess I'm off topic now, but I thought your analyses were spot on. Thank you for taking the time to post.

What I don't understand is why it took this tip for LE to ask again for anyone who may have seen anything to come forward. We have heard so very little of this type of request from LE, asking people to jog their memories, etc.

I tend to agree on LE releasing info willynilly. I don't think it's likely.

I've just read so many bad things about MO that it worries me. I hope it's legit!

So true!

Hopefully, the guy will come forward. If he doesn't, I don't see how he can be tracked down.

I will not hold my breath or get too excited, though. It would be the rare case indeed that did not include tips like this.

If this guy was looking for rentals... Could he have checked in with a rental office... And left some type of name/ID/contact number?

I know... Wishful thinking...

but hoping anyway...

:please:

I bet that PI is going around interviewing MR's neighbors. Asking them if they saw someone on Nov 19th. I am not at all convinced this is a credible tip. Sure, the tipster could have seen a hispanic male. But was it on Nov 19th?

I so appreciate azgrandma for coming here - she shares things which most of us could not do in a public forum.

Who knows. They appear to be stuck with no evidence of anything.
Why not release more info? Assuming they have any?

  • #193
So what's for rent up there? Or what was for rent up there in November?
Any way to find out how near the nearest rental to MR's house was ?
A few doors down or miles away ?

BBM, yeah, it's concerning. It's really hard to take him seriously, but hopefully he can help....somehow.

Another article.

“That may not amount to anything, but it also gave us an opportunity” to ask anyone who may have seen anything unusual before or after Dylan disappeared to contact authorities, Bender said. Dylan turned 14 years old last week.

snip

“It’s still an ongoing investigation,” Bender said. “It’s not something that we’ve closed the file on and put aside. We have investigators working on it on a daily basis.”

Bender said the number of calls to the tip line has dropped dramatically.

"We were getting a two-inch stack a day when the case was in its first few weeks and that has since dwindled to … two or three a day," he said.

"This gave us the opportunity...to ask anyone"

They can take an opportunity any time they want...why haven't they? Why wait three months?

I am looking on zillow and found some houses for sale or recently sold on Safley Rd., which is off of co rd 500 and fairly close to MR. Of course Zillow isn't going to have everything.

It would be so bizarre to me for LE, particularly this LE, to put out a press release and get all the media all fired up for a tip that they found not credible. I can't think of why they'd do that.

Yeah, that's what I don't get. Why not ask anyone if they saw anything...three months ago? I am starting to wonder if they focused on Mark being responsible for three months, and are now starting to think someone else was?

BBM

Why the heck did they need this "tip" to ask the community if they saw anything unusual before or after Dylan's disappearance?

This should have been done immediately and perhaps they would have received more tips if they would have held press conferences.....

If they would have released Dylan's (and perhaps Mark's) phone pings from Sunday night, how many more tips would they have had?

Why did LE feel the need to keep the public misinformed?

Don't get me wrong, I am a strong supporter of LE but there are way to many questions in how things have transpired since Day 1.
