Yeah, that's what I don't get. Why not ask anyone if they saw anything...three months ago? I am starting to wonder if they focused on Mark being responsible for three months, and are now starting to think someone else was?

It seems to me that every single news article and press release has asked for anyone with info to call the Sheriff's office.

Oh come on. This isn't the fist time they are asking for tips.
They have been asking for video for months now.

Exactly. Where in the world the idea that they are only now started asking for tips is coming from?

The man said he was looking at rental properties and was asking where he could find gasoline for his vehicle

Remember early on (around the time of the search of MR's house) we were discussing the for sale sign across from the house (see in pictures)? I was hopeful that LE had spoken with all realtors/rental agencies in the area about people/hunters that were there during Dylan's disappearance....LE probably should have never ever treated Dylan's case as a runaway no matter what they were initially told by the reporting party.

I hope LE's silence in Dylan's disappearance has not kept other tips from being called in.

Good connect, sKore! :thumb:

If the PI was questioning neighbors, he may have come across someone that never got questioned by the police and the guy remembered this incident. The PI may have told him to contact the sheriff with the information.

I would hope someone wouldn't make up a lie, I think there might be ramifications for that. Let's hope that everyone is on the same track and the goal is to find Dylan and get some answers.

I prefer to keep my glass half full and think positive. How is this going to hurt anything? If MR or anyone else did something, maybe this person saw something or could be a possible perp.

Not a lie. But how reliable is someone's memory after almost 3 months? I noticed the description of the male is the most general. No time of day this tipster saw this male is given. But Nov 19th date is remembered? Wouldn't that person then remember the time of day? How about the clothing the hispanic male was wearing?

  • #207
I don't mean asking for tips, but was looking for a speech that was more specific to the locals, asking who had been late that day, who had seen someone cleaning a car, who saw someone out of place, etc. we have heard LE ask these things early on, in a PC, in other cases, and not in this one, to my knowledge.

I read in one of the articles they mentioned morning. If this person did not live in the area or only had a vacation spot in that area, then they may be more likely to remember the date they were there. Or, maybe they were showing a rental property.

From article...

This only says the interview was done last weekend, not that the tip came in last weekend. Who knows when the initial tip came in?? :waitasec:

Maybe the tipster was in Vallecito area during Thanksgiving weekend..... S/he has a vacay home or some such there ... Went back home after Thanksgiving... Came back to Vallecito for another stay this last week...and contacted... Or RE-contacted ..... LE about the tip...

Just throwing ideas out there...

:dunno:

They were asking for information that may aid in search for Dylan for a long time now.

Colorado is notorious for keeping their lips sealed, it drives me bonkers. I understand that letting some info out could hurt a case but I also believe the public can help alot given some information, that being said I have believed for the most part from the start that dad has nothing to do with this. I think Dylan was trying to get to his friends house and was picked up by a person with bad intentions. Small town or not it happens everywhere, creepers are everywhere.
I know statisticly speaking it screams family or someone known to the family should be involved, imoo it's a remote chance Dillon knew the person I just think it is someone unkown to the family........

I think the average person needs specifics. Not everyone is accustomed to following crimes, or thinks what to look for, as we do here, JMO.

It'd be hard to ask for specifics without having a good idea of what happened to Dylan.

My stupid guess, he arrived on Sunday to look at property on Monday.

Yes... Maybe his home is quite a distance away... So he stayed more than one day searching for a rental...

Instead of driving up in the morning... Look at rentals... And drive back at night...

Just some thoughts...

I think it was FB rumor. :blushing:

If LE interviewed him, I would think they would try to trip him up or whatever to see if he was falsifying his information. I just don't think they would release this information if they felt it was hoaxy. KWIM

And dammit, y'all don't talk too much. I have 2 exams tomorrow and really need to go to bed.

Thinking of Dylan....

JMO but I think the PI did perhaps issue a press release that was picked up and I think we have to read very carefully from now on when the press use the term "investigator" did this or that. I think LE probably reluctantly responded on this one anyway.

OH gosh good luck on your exams tomorrow:woot:

I only mean giving examples to the public as to what to think about. Maybe this tip might have come months ago, if so, who knows?

  • #217
I don't know if this has been stated but right after Dylan went missing the LE said they would release any info through the Pine River Times FB page and I believe website becuase La Plata County does not have a FB page.

The curious might want to check out the FMDR FB comments posted before the weekend. I hope that is okay to say. If not, mods please delete.

If this Hispanic male looking for gas, but with no vehicle sighted, came out of and back into the woods, what would he be doing there? Is the private or public land? Is camping or hunting allowed in that area?

  • #219
Perhaps I'm naive, but I don't think we should work so hard to dismiss the only real bone LE has thrown us.

Still not a thing posted by the admin on FMDR. This is one of the craziest things I've ever seen in a missing child case. Usually parents, especially mothers, jump all over the tiniest little tip. They're desperate to find their child, so they just jump on anything and everything. They'll spend thousands of dollars chasing tips, even from psychics. Phoenix Coldon's parents have now lost their home spending money on a bad PI to chase a shaky tip.

Now here's this tip, coming straight from LE, and not a single post on the official facebook. But they'll post to invite 10,000 to bash Mark about Dr Phil.

It just doesn't make sense. None. What a crazy case. I wonder where Dylan is.
