I think that R also felt it was important to see Dylan at that early hour. I see no difference between the two of them. If one of them could go back to sleep because it's not uncommon for a teenager, then why not both?
BBM, How could I have missed this ?
As for the game, it's more like pretend LE came out tomorrow and definitely cleared MR.......then what ? What can we explore if MR is off the table?
I could see four days...I can't see 3 (almost 4) months.[/QUOTE
I can't either. Nov 19th to Feb 14th is certainly not even 3 months much less almove 4 months. jmo
why was their never a description of the missing fishing pole? If someone found an abandoned rod and reel at the river or lake or on the side of the road, many might think, "my good luck." but if the finder or one of his friends or family knew that a (for the sake of example) zebco 33 rod and reel combo was part of a missing child investigation, they would likely call le. Someone might notice a change of behavior or uncharacteristic behavior, discarding or washing clothes, detailing a car, odd injuries, etc. And if that same person had a mysteriously acquired rod also, it could lead to someone calling in a tip. Maybe i watch too much tv.
My theory is that the missing rod was something to point searchers to water, the river, the lake or the dam. I also have my doubts about the movie and the nap. Something to explain hours of unaccounted time without supplying much detail by way of explanation. All moo
Several threads ago I posted a theory about the fishing pole. Is it possible that the fishing pole never existed and is being mentioned to lead LE to find Dylan in the lake? I believe that this could make sense if something happened in a fit of rage that resulted in Dylan ending up in the lake. It would mean that after the event the responsible party was suffering from guilt. It would also mean that they were confident (cocky) enough to believe that they could not be tied to Dylan being there.
Ugh...then I'd be left with scenario #3 on my list: some perv snatched Dylan. Makes me want to vomit just thinking about it.
I never said that R went back to sleep or even thought that he may have gone back to sleep. I have only been responding to asyousay's post below.Do we know that R went back to sleep? Point is that he set his alarm and he got up. Then he waited 15 minutes before sending out a text to Dylan wondering where he was. At some point that morning, he headed to his friend N's house and let Dylan know via text that's where he could find him when he did finally make it down to Bayfield. I believe that text was sent around 10am. He may not have gone back to sleep at all. Unless he's stated it in an interview. Even if he did, he at least tried to get in contact with Dylan before he did go back to sleep. Which is something Dylan was apparently unable to do at any time during that day or even after the R had sent him a text at 9:27pm the night before.
MOO
R is a young teenager and more than likely went back to sleep.
Actually I think we are left with two theories.
A stranger snatched him.
An acquaintance of DR or a 'friend' of an acquaintance of DR.
Next is from the home or from the street? Which makes more sense?

Well it is 12.5 weeks right now actually, FWIW.
So back to MR being truthful. Phone's not working, for whatever reason, no ipod texting, for whatever reason, no landline calls out, for whatever reason. Dylan is home alone on Monday morning and bored. Does he: (and here I feel the beginnings of a Choose Your Own Adventure book starting)...
A) grab all of his things and try to walk/hitch to RN's house?
B) open the door to a visitor?
C) Meet up with a pre-arranged ride?
I can't see any other ways to place Dylan and all of his belongings out of the house on Monday AM, which I need to do if all of what MR has said is true. What am I missing here? Help us out. Schmae and I want to play this through!
Snip:
Playing along:
Start earlier in the morning. Dylan gives his dad grief about waking up, however it's stated, and hears dad start the pickup and drive away. Panics, grabs his stuff (quickest thing to do is stuff his phone and charger into his backpack), runs out the door. Now it's 7:30am, Dylan is really upset that he missed his ride. Dylan may or may not have been locked outside.
What happens next?
1) Stranger or acquaintance coincidently drives up and lures him into the vehicle, taking/disabling the phone before Dylan can use it
2) Acquaintance sees MR drive away and drives up, scooping up Dylan and taking/disabling phone before Dylan can use it
3) Dylan, angry that his dad left him, starts walking down the road ie runs away. May or may not be abducted at some point away from the house.
anything else?

I'm not the original poster, but I have had the same idea. In my theory, a missing fishing pole and a water recovery might appear to add up to an accident, ie Dylan had gone off to fish and met with an accident or foul play . All MOO
BBM- These make sense to me. It puts Dylan outside the house with his belongings but also without a way to contact anyone. I would expect him to walk down the road in search of a phone at that point.
Is this with or without the fishing pole? Would he have taken that with him? Is that something that these boys did often when they were together? In late November?
So I've been thinking about past tense language. Think about this .
What was your child / spouse/ friend wearing last time you saw them?
They're alive and well , mind you .
In your mind did you think " My sister IS wearing a red shirt and blue jeans
and she HAS her hair in a braid'' ? Or did you think ' My sister was wearing a
red shirt and blue jeans and had her hair in a braid ' ?
I'm thinking right now of my kids when they left today and if someone asked
I would say " She was wearing her black t shirt and she had her glasses on " Those are past tense. But they're present ! Could this explain some of MR's statements?
By the way , ya'll are totally not playing the game right![]()
