Personally, I take no activity since sometime Sunday night by LE to mean the phone was OFF. What does activity mean? Sent & Received? We know he got texts on Monday from R, MR & ER, but Bender said "no activity" so....

I think the same thing. If the phone was on, it should have been receiving texts , so-activity. But who knows what Bender meant?

I'm a little confused about the dogs actually. LE has brought in dogs already, much earlier. And this group is going to come in now and find something?

Are these dogs better/differently trained than the ones LE used?
Did LE miss or refuse to take the dogs to areas that the family wanted searched? Why would they refuse?
Will these dogs trespass or have all owners of private property given permission to search? And if the owners would give this group permission, wouldn't they have given it to LE? Or are they only searching public lands and right of ways?
Is it that this private group will search more area? Why wouldn't LE do that?
Does the family not trust LE to do a thorough search with dogs?

I wonder if the family feels LE should be more forthcoming with evidence and now want to take some control of the investigation? (I'm such a control freak myself, dealing with the little drips and drabs LE seems to give would not sit well with me at all. So I wouldn't be surprised to see the family get frustrated with the investigation.)

NANCY GRACE
Search Continues for Dylan Redwine
Aired December 3, 2012
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1212/03/ng.01.html
GRACE: Elaine, is there a landline there in the home?

REDWINE: Yes, there is.

GRACE: So if he wanted to, he couldn`t make his cell phone get a proper signal, he could have used the landline to call his friends, right?

REDWINE: That would be my assumption as well, yes.

GRACE: Do you know if there is Internet in the home? Does the dad have a laptop or a desktop?

REDWINE: Yes, he does.

Sooo is Elaine answering yes to all 3 queries by NG? Internet, laptop, desktop LOL

mmmagique I've seen the same as you re the laptop use by MR

I really have not seen anywhere but on a fb page that can't even be mentioned that he had a laptop or a desktop. If you've seen something that is considered fact, please, share it with us. I am not being argumentative. I am being confused.

I will admit that I haven't seen any MSM reports stating that Mark Redwine has a desktop or a laptop computer. So anyone who say's that Dylan could have used Marks desktop or laptop computer to communicate with his friends need to back that up.

If anyone would claim that Mark Redwine has Wi-Fi that Dylan could have used his iPod to text with, they are mistaken if Mark does not have a desktop or laptop computer in his home.

IMO, the question about grandma minding sounds like it came from MR. As in, "you want me to drop you off that early? What does his grandma think?"

From what I've seen and read, I think it was more likely a question that Dylan would ask.

Ok, thanks! So much for that trail of crumbs...:banghead::banghead:

I guess if the phone was turned on at all the next day, that would be a pretty big deal to LE. They would know that although there had been no communication from Dylan, that someone had the phone and had it turned on.
Thanks for helping to clarify that.

Underlined by me. I believe the maternal side of the family has their reasons to doubt this is the tip that could break the case. LE says the tip came in over the weekend. Prior to that weekend, this tip was being discussed on social media. All MOO.

Thank you!

Ranch it appears his phone went off the grid at what 8 pm that that was the last text sent on that device as I understand it. So IPOD would be the
logical device used. Is that not logical?

except the reporter, Melissa, stated that the only electronic device LE were discussing was the cell phone.
she "double checked" that the 9:37 text was SENT from DR's phone. I still think it was the one rec'vd from RN, but who knows for sure.

Tempers seem short. I'll toss us a softball to wind up the night. Does anyone think the K-9 team will be useful? Will they:

A) Find Dylan's body?
B) pick up a trace of his scent somewhere near MR's?
C) Find something/someone else out there?
D) Be completely inconclusive?

I'd like to think between the dog search and the huge audience that Dr Phil will garner (positive or negative, it is huge media exposure)....I really hope something gives in this case. Dylan has been gone too long. Thoughts?

I am curious about whether they will hit on the lake.

You could be right. So until LE confirms that the 9:37 PM text came from Dylan's cell phone or iPod people shouldn't state as fact that Mark has Wi-Fi in his home because Dylan sent a text message with his iPod.

once again, the reporter stated that LE was only discussing the cell phone when referring to the electronic device.

But...when did LE state anything about cell phones? I only remember Bender mentioning once on NG was there there more?

Dylan was the one who set the 6:30 time as he had a ride. MR claims he left at 7:30 & Dylan was aware. Dylan took time to turn on the TV, eat cereal & knew Dad was coming at 11 at that point. He did not call anyone or answer R or MR's texts . These are the facts as we have been told by MR.

This picture as whole does not make sense that he did not wait for an 11:00 ride PERIOD, especially if he slept in, didn't call anyone & nobody saw him walking, etc.

key phrase being: facts as stated by MR. of which I don't believe a word.
I think the vagueness of the 9:37 text is a red herring and that in fact it was the rec'vd text from RN. If someone knew DR was out of commission by 8-9PM Sunday night, as I believe he was, they might slip and say something about how the 9:37 text couldn't have been DR. Then someone may notice something is off and call in a tip.
like the cross in the JR case.

Correct. And I'm fine with that. I'm not ok with people saying Mark has Wi-Fi in his home without any proof.

LE used primarily search and rescue dogs on land and cadaver dogs at the lake. K-9 Forensics is bringing 3 cadaver dogs and one search and rescue dog for land and water searches. The emphasis has changed a bit in 3 months so maybe these dogs will find something that LE dogs did not.

oh gosh, can someone link the article or twitter of Melissa, the reporter's, info about LE and the cell phone?
TIA

I am curious about whether they will hit on the lake.

I thought Wendy the dog gal already said she had gotten a hit on the lake but did not think Dylan was in there. Can't find the link now. Anyone else recall this?

Yes. I recall the same thing.

I know that's what she thinks. But unless I hear from LE, I am not convinced.
