A few people were asking about bike on side of house in last thread. Looks like a shed/door is open in picture from news timeline. Is it not possible that LE moved it out to check in there? I did some investigating and the bike is an 18" wheel Next bike (See links below). This would be very small for a 13 year old and not likely to be used.

Thanks Skbale. That sure looks like the same bike to me. It is a small bike. From reading some Walmart reviews it looks like most people were buying this bike for their 5 to 6 year old's.

Here is far out idea.

What if Mark did Take Dylan or had someone take Dylan.
Could it be he did NOT expect Elaine to call le?
Maybe he thought she would just come to Bayfield to help find him.
Something about him going to this lawyer that morning is a red flag for me that and no activity on his cell phone at all.

Now if LE was never called what do you all think may have happend.
What is it he wants from Elaine she gave him everything but their son?

Just a thought

Lemme see if I'm following you .
MOO ATJ,,,, MR texts ER ,says DR is missing. ER rushes down to the area and she and MR look for him and maybe MR finds him and becomes the hero / prince/ white knight in her eyes again? Something like that ?

The bike looks a little different. If you look compare the two bikes by looking directly under the seat in the front as well as the back. The bike also comes in different sizes. Is there a way of telling what size Dylan's bike is?

I forgot 5) Unplanned murder - intending to kill Dylan, but not planned for 3 months. A sudden rage or overwhelming emotion or something like that.

It's easier to believe a stranger could kill a child than it is to believe a father could plan something for weeks or months and then actually murder his own child.

Is there anything that indicates that MR has a familiarity with death? Military or police service? Hunting large or small animals? Has he ever "put an animal out of its misery?" Shot or trapped dogs or cats running on his property?

I hope the LE have looked into MR's gun or weapon ownership and discovered if any were purchased between that September date when ER was granted full custody and Dylan's visit in November.

Do you have a link showing this same bike in different frame sizes?

No not necessarily that.

Hes hidden his boys before!
My thinking is he wants something from Elaine and Dylan is the key.
Never expecting it to go this far!

Why a lawyer that very day?

I still think MR bought a fishing pole that night in Walmart.

Sorry, I didn't think to save the link. I just did a google search. IIRC there was 16, 18 & 20.

I looked and couldn't find that same bike in different sizes. Next makes a similar bike in 20" but it has some differences to the bike in the screen shot.

Speaking of lawyer's , I would say at this time, I cannot imagine he's got a lawyer 'retained'. He's singing like a canary all the time now and no mention of a lawyer. When you're in MR 's position and you do have a lawyer, that lawyer would be with you in some interviews...or I would think so anyway. I guess we'll see, but it seems against legal advice, everything he's doing now. IMHO

When you work out of town you only have a small amount of time to take care of business on days off. Anytime there is a change of income with parents, paperwork has to be redone.

As far as MR's statements in response to the texts, which only one side was shown....., when I first read it, I thought of how through this whole ordeal with his son being missing, he had no one with him for comfort and support. CR, ER and her fiance, live together and have each other. He has no one. That's a pretty horrible and lonely feeling when your going through something like this. You have no one to talk to and no one to comfort you and give you advice on what to do. You can't think straight. Then to boot, add on all of the finger pointing that you did something awful to your own son. That would affect a persons ability to comprehend and think straight even more.

I wish people would take a few minutes to think about how it would feel to be in the shoes of a parent who is being treated this way. Take away the thought that he is guilty, simply because there are no facts stating he is, for just long enough to imagine being innocent and how you would feel. Just because a person may "think" that they would react a certain way in this position doesn't mean anything, because we are all different and unique and thankfully most haven't had to experience it.

I am glad you posted option #5 as it is what I have been thinking for a long time.

We know he owns a shotgun- it was on display during the 9news interview. However, I have to believe a gunshot would have left evidence somewhere in the area. Might be a good weapon for a spontaneous argument killing but since LE has checked the house and I don't think MR took the gun to pick up Dylan from the airport, I don't see it used here.

Strangulation? Head injury? Suffocation? Sorry to be grim but those all leave less evidence and, depending on the locale, less of a trail for LE to find. I would LOVE for the cadaver dogs to sniff his house and trucks. I do not believe cadaver dogs have yet and I am not confident that the K-9 Forensic team will be allowed to do so. Guess that depends on if MR is in town or not.
