IMO the reason why LE thinks Dylan made it to MR's house is the 9:37 sent text from Dylan's iPod touch which obviously required wifi. I can't see that they could have any other proof that Dylan actually made it there. I'm sure they've considered that perhaps Dylan didn't sent it too. I think they are trying to make the perp feel a little more secure.

Honestly, I do not take the fact that a "Hispanic-looking man" was in town on November 19 as a "lead."

Seems to me that if Dylan was out and about that morning, the person who reported the "Hispanic stranger" should have seen him. Or someone local should have seen him. Why should this man be any more likely to have seen Dylan? Or do we suppose he "took" Dylan, and yet made sure a local got a good look at him in a way he would remember?

LE is asking for this person to come forward, as it would be irresponsible not to do so. But with the accuracy of eyewitnesses as to details being notoriously poor, I would hardly call this a lead, especially with such a vague description.
Maybe someone else had reported a strange vehicle parked somewhere and they are just seeing if they can establish this guy as the owner so they can clear that lead and move on?

I still think the biggest issue that looms is the fact that there was no communication from Dylan that morning, especially since it seems like it's been established that he had:

Cell Phone
iPod
Landline

And I'm pretty confident that Mark had internet.

It's hard to get past Dylan having all of those communication options and the time to eat cereal, and yet wasn't heard from. I'm not saying he definitely wasn't abducted that morning somehow, but, looking at it objectively, it's still a huge issue that seemingly has become bigger as we've realized that Dylan had more communications options at his disposal.

I think because he was believed runaway for the first few days ?
Im just guessing. But that brings up another point, MR said DR
has nothing to run away from , so why in the first few days would
LE assume he was a run away with his dad saying ' there s no way
he's run away '
Paraphrasing/ guessing.

Hey I think he actually said Has NO ONE to run away from!

does anyone know where that statement is!

If there was a questionable vehicle, it seems more likely someone could ID a vehicle from a description, than this vague bit of info about the man.

I'd tend to agree, but it's hard to tell what kind of tips LE actually gets, you know? I can't even imagine the vague stuff they have to track down. What if someone calls the tipline anonymously and says something like "there was a car parked on the side of the road that morning." That's just an example. As for this particular tip, we have no way of knowing why they are pursuing it unless they tell us.

A couple weeks ago I got curious about that too. I went back to the first thread and found the articles linked on the first 3 or 4 pages. The articles repeatedly say that family members said they thought Dylan was upset because he didn't want to visit Mark. I remember an early post here from someone who said they were a family member saying that Dylan wanted to spend Thanksgiving with Elaine's family.

The articles say that LE was interviewing family members, and I think they said things like this, giving LE the impression that Dylan was upset and didn't want to visit Mark and ran away.

Maybe Dylan made a landline call from the house prior to the 9:37 text. That would tell them Dylan had definitely been at the house. :twocents:

It doesn't matter how many communications devices you have, if you get abducted while eating your morning Cocoa Puffs, your chances of contacting someone are about zero. :twocents:

When you work out of town you only have a small amount of time to take care of business on days off. Anytime there is a change of income with parents, paperwork has to be redone.

As far as MR's statements in response to the texts, which only one side was shown....., when I first read it, I thought of how through this whole ordeal with his son being missing, he had no one with him for comfort and support. CR, ER and her fiance, live together and have each other. He has no one. That's a pretty horrible and lonely feeling when your going through something like this. You have no one to talk to and no one to comfort you and give you advice on what to do. You can't think straight. Then to boot, add on all of the finger pointing that you did something awful to your own son. That would affect a persons ability to comprehend and think straight even more.

I wish people would take a few minutes to think about how it would feel to be in the shoes of a parent who is being treated this way. Take away the thought that he is guilty, simply because there are no facts stating he is, for just long enough to imagine being innocent and how you would feel. Just because a person may "think" that they would react a certain way in this position doesn't mean anything, because we are all different and unique and thankfully most haven't had to experience it.

except he said on camera - don't worry about me, I'll be fine in the end of all this, (paraphrasing). so, don't worry about MR. He's gonna be fine even though his boy is missing. even if he's never found, or is found deceased. he'll be fine.

Are you suggesting Dylan was walking and someone from a group like this snatched him OR are you suggesting someone Dylan knows placed him with this group for safe keeping until a later date? TKS

what kind of group? a cult or something?

The Dr that killed Michael Jackson said that exact same thing!
I was trying to remember where I had heard that before.

is it already old news that the entire Redwine family will tape Dr Phil on 2/20?

2 different cadavar dogs hits, on the same locations, on the same lake?

Upon receiving items that belonged to Dylan, did LE use scent dogs at the same time as the cadaver dog search?

No description of the missing fishing pole?

"I question why it has taken this long to start scouring the lake because from Day One they have known it is likely he had a fishing pole with him," Redwine, 52, said.
Information he received from the boy's friends suggests that Dylan was hitchhiking when he disappeared, Redwine said.
"It sounds to me like he's not even in the area," he said.
He said he is concerned that a stranger could have picked up the teen and abducted him.

I have to disagree!
A Kid with a cell phone would have sent at least 2 text messages before his morning cheerios! Especially one that was supposed to be with a friend while he was eating that cereal he would have at least let R know why he wasnt there and what his next plan was!

Speaking of the bike outside of the home, this is the type of bike that middle school boys ride. They raise the seats and handlebars. They like to race this type of bike. Dylan looks to be on the smaller frame size 13 year old. I believe he would ride this type of bike.

I've seen 6 ft tall grown men ride around on tiny kids bikes so I'm sure that Dylan could do the same. I just wonder if he would chose to ride that small kids bike over a long distance vs trying to hitchhike. MOO.
