I wonder why the police would take it? Would they be able to get Dylan's prints from it? I don't remember reading anything saying they took it.

I presume they are trying to fingerprint it, since MR claimed he and Dylan were throwing it around. Yes, it was reported that police took it.

So it's a proven fact that Elaine was paying child support?

I believe that azgrandma was trying to say that she has personal knowledge of this. And since she is a verified insider in this case I will believe it.

I was just looking at MR and wondering why everyone hates him so much. His sons, his ex-wives.

I'll give it that he might be a jerk, a humungous jerk, but how does anyone get from him being a jerk to a murderer of his own child??? I do not get it.

My ex-SIL is an SOB, a serious SOB. I can't stand him, he's not a father at all, didn't pay child support, then got custody of one of the kids and collected child support thanks to CPS. There is a whole lot more to this story, he even did 3 1/2 years in PRISON. And I still wouldn't accuse him of murder if someone close to him disappeared. I would not do that. That's an really ugly accusation. IMO, JMO, MOO.

Alrighty then. I choose not to, so we can agree to disagree.

I think it is very revealing, that so many who know him have that gut level reaction. And after reading a few of his texts to his son and his ex, I understand why they have their suspicions. He has a cruel streak. That is more than just being a jerk, imo.

I have no idea if he was involved. Usually I wouldn't suspect a parent, even one who was the last to see their missing child. I know of many cases where a random perp was the guilty party. But in this particular case, he has me looking at him out of the corner of my eyes. So many little reasons that combine into my doubt. Early statements he made, suspicious circumstances, his past transgressions...:what:

I don't think you can tell a murderer by looking at them. I certainly never would have thought Israel Keyes was a serial killer, had I seen a picture of him beforehand.

I do see a picture emerging of who MR is and it aint pretty IMHO. I always felt that if he did it, it was not intentional murder. But I am starting to have second thoughts. I always thought the idea of him taking Dylan and hiding him somewhere was really far fetched too....but now i'm wondering. IMHO there is no doubt whatsoever IN MY MIND that he is involved in what happened to Dylan.

I have not followed this thread at all ... it's a bit challenging to jump in late and figure out all the acronyms and theories. That said, one of the first things that was looked at was the possibility that he was hitchhiking after his dad went out. Has that possibility been completely eliminated?

That seems to be one they're still considering. MOO

Yep. I remain on the fence about Terri Horman with regard to missing Kyron. I DON'T jump to conclusions.

I've also worked inside the walls of prisons as a counselor and had direct contact with the inmates on a daily basis. It means relatively nothing. There are murderers I've known who were basically what people would call a "nice guy" and I agree. And maybe when they get out, they will be a "nice guy" again. I've also met guys in prison who were convicted of much, much, less than murder....but I wouldn't turn my back on them for a second. I've met people on the street that chilled me to the bone...for no particular reason. But something was "off". MR is "off". JMO

And not that I want to get into an OT argument with anyone, but feel compelled to respond to any inaccurate allegations against CPS. CPS does not remove children without cause. CPS does not determine custody issues. A judge makes that determination in a court of law. Also, a judge and Friend of the Court make the determination about child support, not CPS. There are always two sides to every story and unfortunately, CPS records are sealed and they are not allowed to respond to public allegations because their job is to protect the minor child, so the public often maligns CPS and makes a lot of statements that aren't 100% accurate. It is next to impossible to remove children without considerable evidence against a parent and you usually see more cases of children that should have been removed but the judge didn't see it the same way until it was too late. Parental rights are sovereign in the eyes of the Law and the Court.

Am I getting the cases mixed up? Isn't this the case where dad picked up his son for visitation at the airport. The next morning dad went out to run some errands and when he came home, his son was gone? Hadn't son and mom lived in the area a few years earlier ... about 6 miles away (??)? Wasn't it possible that he tried to hitchhike to meet a friend?

Has all of that been discounted, or am I thinking about a different case?

I think we can safely say that no scenario has been "completely eliminated".

BBM I agree with you but man that'd make it so much safer, not to mention more convenient for LE, wouldn't it? I wish it was that easy!
