I'm so hopeful but very nervous :(

I am glad they are searching. I just don't want them to find anything but clues. If they don't find Dylan that means there is a greater chance of finding him alive. iMO

This is so true. I know of about 10,000 on the FMDR fb page who know about Dylan and the handfull or two here. That is nowhere near millions. So even if some of the 10,000 plus handfulls here that normally wouldn't watch the show do, I don't think that's going to do much for their ratings.

I know nobody personally who has every heard of Dylan Redwine nor would they have any interest in watching the show.

Well, remember that there are many people who have seen Dylan's facebook page (even if they didn't like it) and also people in the Denver/CO Springs/ABQ area who have seen some media coverage of it. It's not like only 10,000 people know who Dylan Redwine is. (Now, how many of those people actually retained knowledge of Dylan's name, and it didn't just go in one ear, out the other is another story).

We are supposed to give him kudos for going on a National TV show to get HIS SON'S name and face out there?

Is anyone giving Cory or Elaine kudos for doing it?

Why not if Elaine gets kudos for everything. The point being that every time this community thinks he should do something and there are hundreds of posts to that affect, and then he does do what has been asked for, there is nothing but more criticism. That's what I see.

I believe that was one of his first statements!

I believe one of his first statements was that he'd like to meet with his family so they can join together as a united front in finding Dylan. It was posted upthread just awhile ago. But that's wrong to. No matter what statements he makes or when, they are wrong.

I think many people are waiting for him to "walk the walk" before giving any credit if it is due. The show has yet to be even taped.

What else can he do??? He's given interviews, he's answered all LE's questions and is cooperating, he has been a phsycial part of the search for him, he's handing out flyers, he's asked publically for the return of his son.

He's not a suspect, he's not a POI as far as the police are concerned.

And now he's agree to go on Dr. Phil. Dude can't win no matter what he does.

And then how many of them will actually watch the show? I know those real interested in the case will but many won't IMO. But still....it's not going to do a whole lot for the Dr Phil show ratings to have Dylan Redwine's parents on. Drama or no drama. I'm just hoping it gets Dylan's story/face/name out there to so many who have never heard about him.

I think Nancy should do a week of Dylan and let Jodi go on over to Dr. Phil. BTW did anyone see his show this week when JBaez was on. He actually gave kudos to JB at the end of the show. What's up with that? ty

You missed the entire point. All the negative comments about what he isn't doing and every time he does what everyone clamors about him NOT doing, he gets more negativity. If it's not about getting kudos, then why does everything Elaine does get kudos and very little criticism, yet Mark gets nothing but criticism about everything but when he does something right then "it's not about giving kudos." There is no balance. There isn't even at attempt at one. It's what I see with my own eyes and anyone with a modicum of fairness would see it as well. IMO, MOO, JMO.

I will admit to being a little confused by this case but just what is it that he's done so far to find his son?

Because the majority don't see it the way you do? You can disagree and tell us why, but at this point, I really don't see anyone changing their mind just as I don't think anything anyone else says will change your mind? Does that make sense to you? JMO

I'm sorry. That isn't accurate. He hasn't been named a POI. LE has not cleared him, nor have they said he isn't a suspect. But that doesn't mean he isn't one. Huge difference.

Dr Phil is the number one rated daytime tv talk show. The show is broadcast in 77 percent of the country. He averages 4.2 million viewers per week.

So 4.2 million people across the country will likely hear about Dylan Redwine, probably a lot more than have already heard about it.

Wasn't it a woman who watched a television show about Elizabeth Smart the one who was responsible for her rescue?

The appearance can only be a good thing IMO.

Honestly I can't stomach NG for an entire week. But Jodi's trial is a complete joke and waste of time and resources if you ask me. Who the h*ll wants to hear details about all her sexual escapades day after day? It's sickening.

Oh I agree! I was just replying to some speculation that Dr Phil was only interested in Dylan for the ratings. I don't think having Dylan's parents on is going to do a whole lot for his ratings.

“It’s not a maybe, it’s going to happen,” said Mark Redwine, father of the missing boy. “It’s just a matter of getting it coordinated.”

Denise Hess, who has helped coordinate search efforts for Dylan, also confirmed the plans.

“The family is ready to go at any moment,” she said. “We’re waiting on Mark to decide.”

Producers wanted the Redwine family to tape the show this week in California, but Mark Redwine was unable to attend, he said. Now, the producers want to tape on Wednesday or Feb. 27.

Elaine and Cory Redwine were ready to appear on the show this week, Hess said, but Mark Redwine wouldn’t commit to it and didn’t give a reason why.

This seems to confirm what I had read previously. The date was set for the 20th, as MR initially accepted that date. And then suddenly, MR backed out of that date and wanted it to be the 27th instead. Cold feet?

So I am not going to send kudos to MR until he is actually on that set and answering questions.

She plays that victim role well, doesn't she? Whine, whine, whine. Plueeze. When will these people learn that you don't garner much sympathy from the public by whining. :floorlaugh:

I never saw anything to suggest MR was the tipster? :waitasec: Do you have a something to base that on?

All I know is there is a huge "background" story on this particular tip and we are not allowed to discuss it here. LE is also aware.

JMO

Okay, so I've spent the last hour trying to find what I was saying, and you're right. While there were questions on how LE would deal if MR called in a tip, it was mostly discounted because of the pantscraper. My bad.

He gave kudos to Jose Baez? Well, he just sunk even lower in my lack of respect for him and I didn't even know that was possible.

I don't even think she plays it well. It's a complete waste of time to me. Is anyone really going to see her as a victim? Come on.... She's one sick little girl IMO.

What exactly do you mean "he actually gave kudos"? Please expand on this statement.

Sorry Psychic Sleuth, I was elaborating on your post and I should have specified. I agree that he's not doing this for ratings, and he won't have a spike from this, because he does a variety of different topics on his show and missing children are just one of them. So I think the family is extremely fortunate that he's chosen to feature Dylan and I would think that nothing would take priority over getting on there immediately. Apparently I am wrong.
