I don't know. I know fathers have done it before, especially when involved in contentious divorce issues. I doubt anyone thought those fathers would have killed their children either.

and the primary reasons fathers murder their own children is revenge against the child's mother.

:waitasec: What has all these 37 threads been full of if not accusing him of disappearing DR? ty

Involuntary Manslaughter is not Murder.

azgrandma I am so sorry for your pain and frustration above. To be honest I've just had to pick my jaw up from the floor while reading your detailed post above. I wouldn't blame you if you regretted becoming a verified insider here, as it has no doubt caused you a good deal of discomfort. I can also say that IMO it's also been a little awkward posting about some things regarding Dylan's case, when someone so closely connected to MR has been present. You have been very patient with us.
I've appreciated your posts and understand that there have been some topics you would have been dreading being asked about, and I've been aware also of those subjects you have clearly made taboo.
I know that a couple of times I have asked you whether there had been any history of domestic violence/abuse, and I really thought you had said that there hadn't been. That said, I realise this is not the sort of thing most people would be comfortable broadcasting in a forum like this. I am really surprised that the only report (which has been uncovered) of this behaviour was the one involving the cringeworthy sex on the lawn/drunken swing at CR. I really thought that could have been a one off incident that had its roots in extreme drunkenness - hence my shock at your references to beatings.
If I have used the word victim in relation to MR, it has been in reference to his position as the parent of a missing child - just like ER. I don't believe for a minute that any poster here has implied that Dylan himself is to blame. I do believe words are being twisted in this respect, when some people are just pointing out that Dylan was most likely acting like a normal young, slightly unpredictable teen.

My son would take his shower, then put on CLEAN clothes and go to sleep. He smelled just fine the next morning at 7am when he rolled out of bed and brushed his teeth and left for school.

I'm not even a 13 year old boy and I've been known to do this! I am so not a morning person, and if I am forced to get up early but can find a way to get up at the last possible minute to roll out of bed (hygienically and smelling good and such) I'll do it. I understand why people might be skeptical but IMO I can also see someone doing this and it not being icky.

Wow , I go to sleep and wake up to 20 pages .

A quick question and I am not sure if its allowed so please delete if not .

I saw on one of the pages I just read that Elaine had been married to Mike Hall before , is this true as I have never seen any mention of this before ?

No, not exactly like that. The scenario is more of an accidental tragedy.

Dylan's mom once said that she was worried that D might have said something to make his dad angry.

Dylans mom was about to remarry her first husband. The husband she had when she and Mark Redwine met, and eventually got married themselves. Mark seems to have a lot of hostility about that situation.

Dylan had planned to sleep over at his friends house Sunday night. But after his plane was delayed until 6 pm-ish, Mark decided it was too late for that. So D texted his friend and made it for the next morning at 6:30 am.

D and his dad went to Walmart. Have you seen the picture of D in walmart? Not a happy camper. They had probably argued about the sleepover by now.

Some of us have wondered if the argument escalated that night. Dylan was a pretty small kid, especially compared to his father. What if dad lost his temper, which he had in the past--it is documented. What if he got in a tussle with his son and things went sideways?

Or it could be exactly like that:

"The profile of a family annihilator ( father who murders his own children) is a middle-aged man, a good provider who would appear to neighbours to be a dedicated husband and a devoted father,' Levin said. 'He quite often tends to be quite isolated. He is often profoundly dedicated to his family, but has few friends of his own or a support system out with the family. He will have suffered some prolonged frustration and feelings of inadequacy, but then suffers some catastrophic loss. It is usually financial or the loss of a relationship. He doesn't hate his children, but he often hates his wife and blames her for his miserable life. He feels an overwhelming sense of his own powerlessness. He wants to execute revenge and the motive is almost always to "get even"."
if psychologists had seen them in advance, they would have spotted the warning signs. They would have noticed how the person reacted to things not going his way - the irrational rage and the blaming of others. These people often also regard their partner and children as their own possessions.'.
"
These are executions. They are never spontaneous. They are well planned and selective. They are not carried out in the heat of the moment or in a fit of rage. They are very methodical and it is often planned out for a long time. There are certain people the killer blames for his problems. If a friend came along, he wouldn't kill him or her. He kills his children to get even with his wife because he blames her and he hates her. The killer feels he has lost control. Annihilating his family is a way of regaining control. It is a methodical, selective murder by a rational, loving father. That's why it is so terrifying.'

Read entire article. It is terrifying but def explains how fathers can take the life of their own precious children.

Well, if they put divers in the water based on the hits, then they did taken them seriously. On a side note, the dam was my initial focus early on for this case. I remember getting maps for the lake and the various intakes to figure out the currents within the lake.

It would be interesting to know more about the dive operation. 2 days, not down long, how many divers? Recovery diving is incredibly slow and tedious and it is really easy to miss stuff. Did they bring in side scan?

Thanks Sarx for weighing in! I do recall that they sent divers in but they could only spend 20 minutes or so at a time due to depth and cold. Not sure about sonar. I still got the impression they didn't finish all that thorough of a lake search. This is nothing whatsoever against LE or the divers, IMO they were just under harsh conditions and did the best they could given the limitations.

The dam has bothered me since really early on though. There was a video of Dylan playing with his friends (YouTube I think?) and it looked like they were playing/jumping off of and near that dam. I'd have to find it again, I think it's in the first 10 threads, so it's a ways back. It wasn't the same time of year, obviously was much warmer. I know this is nowhere near a dog or diver finding something but I couldn't ignore the chills I got watching him play with his friends there. Not because I think anything bad about the area, or the spot, or the friends, but IMO there was just something kind of eerie about it. MR talks about the dam and spotty reception there, plus the fishing pole... maybe I'm reading the map wrong but it doesn't seem all that close to MR's house, so I thought it was weird the dam has been coming up so much. It might just be a main geographical feature there, who knows.

I know, this is probably like every other case where a beautiful park or stretch of lake or whatever becomes eerie because of knowing what happened or might've happened there, so I'm not trying not to put too much stock into even my own gut feeling on it, but I also can't shake it.

I know what you mean! Had to skip 20 or so myself. From what I've read yes she's been married to him before. I'm sorry, I don't have a link handy, but I recall reading it a few times.

He mentions the school bus but I thought he then said that there was a bus that he took to his mom's place ... and they liked it that he took the bus rather than having to drive him. I'll listen to it again, but there's a lot to take in.

My first impression is that this seems like a very concerned parent ... not an angry parent that disappeared his son.

MR has been described by various people, including a verified insider, as a con artist. He is really great at SOUNDING like a sensitive, concerned parent. But according to some, he is not as calm and collected as he sounds during his interviews.

Yup. She was married to Mike Hall before she married MR. And I think MR harbors a lot of anger towards MH still, imo. I think this is a very important underlying trigger of his anger.

MH is very successful and just remodeled their beautiful home, that Elaine lives in with MH and Mark's sons. I think it tore MR apart.

Thank you for the reply . And wow that is news to me as that has skipped me by .

Yeah yesterday it was quite quiet on here and I wake up and the thread has exploded . Unfortantly still no news :(

I still have my fingers crossed that the search team will find something useful .

Yes, AND I was shocked at the recent data posted of parents that murder their children for revenge against the parent who gets primary custody. And even more specifically, children who are murdered during court ordered visitation. The custody awarded to ER was no more than 2 months before Dylan went missing.

And allegedly the one way ticket for this visit was Purchased on the day he learned that he lost custody and child support.

It does make you wonder if this was another trigger for MR . MR basically has nothing and there is Elaine with everything and living a great life .

This is THE POST OF THIS CASE!!! Thanking it is not enough! Too much has to be made up to make MR the murderer. There is no evidence of anything suggesting he did. No "smoking gun." Thanks The Cheese.

Actually, there is too much known family history and too many supporting statistics to MAKE UP that Dylan just disappeared into thin air.

I can get away with it because I work from home, so every now and then the sweats or pj's stay on all day. :what:

Now, when I worked in the office, I don't think sleeping in a suit would have been a possibility.

I don't think I've seen anyone here suggest that he disappeared into thin air. MOO

I am hoping that tomorrow will bring some answers for the family. I don't want them to find Dylan's body. But I want them to find something that leads them in a direction to bring Dylan home.

I know it's easier for people to believe that MR did something to Dylan, then to think that a stranger got a hold of him, because the outcomes would be different. Well, depending on who you talk to, maybe not. However, it's hard to blame some nameless, faceless unknown person than it is to point the finger at someone familiar. Personally, I don't want either to be true.

I just want Dylan home safe and sound. I don't care whose theory is correct as long as that happens.

I just hope that the true events behind Dylan's disappearance aren't being overlooked because too much focus is being put in one place that will not lead to Dylan. JMO.

Ok, I'll play. Who said Dylan disappeared into thin air??? I sure didn't see anyone say that, let alone me as to why my post would be quoted and replied to.
