Television shows are defined by genre'. Dr. Phil is not a reality show in any sense of the word. Completely different format.

Dr. Phil is a talk show hosted by Phil McGraw. After McGraw's success with his segments on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Dr. Phil debuted on September 16, 2002. On both shows McGraw offers advice in the form of "life strategies" from his life experience as a clinical psychologist.

The show is in syndication throughout the United States and a number of other countries. Its tenth season premiered on September 12, 2011. The show is to be renewed through 2014, or twelve seasons. Occasional prime time specials have aired on CBS. The program has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award every year since 2004.

Ok, how many therapists would you visit on national tv?

Interesting that the above article was the 24th & on the 25th MR says:

Information he received from the boy's friends suggests that Dylan was hitchhiking when he disappeared, Redwine said.

"It sounds to me like he's not even in the area," he said.
He said he is concerned that a stranger could have picked up the teen and abducted him.

Yes, as I already stated, he was repeating what his friends said. Isn't it the mindset that his friends knew him best?

I'm really finding the hitch hiking theory hard to accept. LE has stated something happened at the house or he was abducted from the house. After reading what AS did to sweet little Jessica I am able to piece together what LE was saying by not saying. Where the DNA came from and how they connected the jogger. I am going to have to go with LE on this one.

que?

<modsnip> Dr. Phil is not currently employed as a "therapist", so no, I probably wouldn't be seeing him if I needed a therapist.

Dr. Phil is a retired Psychologist. He is currently employed as a talk show host. He has a contract with his employer as a talk show host through 2014.

I hope this clears the matter up <modsnip>. :seeya:

I believe that what they said was that either he left the home willingly and he was abducted or something happened at the house. MOO

<Snipped for space>

Just a few mentions of hitchhiking gathered via google, and I know we have seen them all before. FWIW when his friends are remembering One time during a snowstorm, Dylan was the one to stick out his thumb and hitch I interpret that as being completely different to saying something like ... I can remember only one time when Dylan hitched. To me they are just giving one anecdote about a particularly memorable time when they were all caught in a storm.
I have seen others here posting that the boys have said it was the only time, but I can't find that - could someone link me up if that is indeed true? TIA
But do you notice, most of those could have been one mention by the boys that "Dylan was the one to stick his thumb out", and interpreted as the journalists see fit. They are not quotes of the boys, but writings of a journalist. So, in my mind, to be taken with a grain of salt.

Maybe, but if your child was missing and that was what you heard from his friends, how would you take it?

http://www.9news.com/news/article/314078/42/What-happened-to-Dylan-Redwine

"He either left the house and someone abducted him or something happened while he was still at the house. I could not think of a 3rd possibility," said Dan Bender, spokesman from the La Plata County Sheriff's Office.

Ok sorry I was mistaken.. Still don't buy the hitch hiking theory... MOOJMO

I'm glad you mentioned this. I was getting so confused and afraid it was just me! Yes, they're a mess.

Knock it off. I'm tired and have no patience and all this bickering and being snarky to one another is just making me cranky.

What is the deal? Why the heck can't you just move past it without getting all snarky? Why is it so hard???????

:furious:

Okay - those were rethorical questions - please do not answer them.

"I would never do anything to harm that boy," Mark said. "I know they are looking at me for being involved at some sort of kidnapping scheme, which is one of the reasons I want them to look closely at me. The more they look at me, the more they are going to realize I have nothing to do with this."

Thanks!

I might lean that way, IF the dogs had picked up his scent at the house and leaving the house and walking down the road.

As with anything said by a 13 year old boy. Usually an exaggeration of the actual facts. Most have no idea how much they are exaggerating, it just sounds "cool", so they say it. My son has one friend that I would not believe a word out of his mouth. Not one. (The kid is, however, absolutely hilarious) It really depends on the friend, too.

So from the quote LE are still investigating Mark 3 months down the line . It's good to know to he has not been cleared and its never been made public by LE!

Thank you Salem! I just alerted a couple in hopes of helping you find them. Thanks for all the hard work.

From what I concluded about scenting near the house was they may have used a item that others had also touched, such as a blanket, so they could not be sure if a hit had anything to do with Dylan. Or something like that.

As far as what teen boys would say, i.e. hitching, Dylan being abducted, I have always looked at that as their jumping on the most "exciting" option, as well as the one that comes to mind in kids these days who have had the dangers of being taken (regardless of how minuscule the chances are in reality) drilled into their brains since they could walk.

I haven't been here in a while but even now, while on vacation, my mind isn't far from Dylan. It has been rough to watch my own nearly 13yo son enjoy so much and realize that Elaine will never get another opportunity like this with Dylan. I hope that the monster that denied them both these moments is suffering horribly.
