In my opinion I think all cases of missing children should be treated the same. An amber alert needs to go out, period. It shouldn't matter if they are a runaway or their parents or fighting, or it was a stranger abduction. If people can not see past the parents fighting or accusing or whatever then they have the problem, then it is not about the child in the first place. They are just around for the drama. If they think "oh just another runaway" then they have the problem. Some Runaways are endangered, they may not think of the risks and dangers out there. IMO I feel if it is about the child you look past everything else and concentrate on the child.
This is my opinion and isn't referring any specific person or people. It is a general thought.
People will stop taking Amber Alerts seriously if they are issued too often. Like a car alarm. There are 800,000 children reported missing every year. They cannot issue anywhere near that many Amber Alerts.
Also, Amber Alerts were designed for the highway so people could look for a vehicle. If all the Amber Alert sign says is: "16-Year-Old White Girl With Brown Hair, Brown Eyes Is Missing"...How would people look out for this girl when they are driving?
