Wow so then maybe the report that he reported him missing from his home is the correct version!

And the plot thickens :cow:

WHAT? No.. their 'office ' may close as in the reception person goes home and the ' marshall' himself, an elected official (* who probably does little more than oversee the staff and sign things ) may go home, but officers from the marshall's office cannot go home at 3 and leave an area without LE overnight. Surely not.

Maybe someone needs to call them tomorrow at 4 pm local time and see what happens. IF they work 6 hour days..... BOO!

Mark Redwine:
Well, I told them that I hadn’t heard from Dylan all day and I didn’t think much of it and when I got down to the Marshall’s Office or to his friend Ryan’s house or Fernando…anyway... when I ran across his friends and they hadn’t heard from him – then that’s when I went over to the Marshall’s Office and told them that, you know, we need to find him, make contact with him. They were going to put out like a wellness check or they just notify the local authorities to keep an eye out for him and make contact with him so somebody can “bang him in the head” and say, “Hey, your dad’s trying to get a hold of you. Your friends are trying to get a hold of you. You need to communicate to somebody.
But at that moment in time…, I felt the need to address this issue with mom, so I immediately asked her had she heard from him and indicated to her that I hadn’t heard from him all day and that I was at the Marshall’s office taking care of this, and that’s when pretty much all hell broke loose with her

So she called the sheriff's department, but apparently since she went to the sheriff's office and I went to the Marshal's office there was a time delay in the communication with the marshal's office getting this information out, so that apparently, from what I understand, the sheriffs office had no idea that I had been to the Marshal's office.

This is what I meant about explaining. I just wondered about it. Was he really at the Marshal's office when he called her? Or did he go down there much later? If he called her at 5 and said he was at the Marshal's office, but LE has him reporting at 6, is this another instance of a discrepancy?

I heard this on the uncut video with MR. Sometime after 20.10 I believe? He says he immediately went to the Marshall's office from Fernando's house. He makes it sound like he said to her "I'm down here at the Marshall's office" but it's vague and rambling like everything else. He then goes on to explain how "apparently" there was a time lag in communication because when ER called the Sheriff "they didn't know anything about it". He was sort of explaining himself, but I couldn't understand why. Like there had been some confusion at that point and he just needed to clarify.

Sometimes when he is talking in his interview, it seems like he's doing a lot of that explaining. I sometimes wonder if it's a reflection of questions that LE had for him, so it's sort of fresh in his mind where the areas of conflict or contradictions in his story might be
.

I have watched these interviews several times now. The parts where he talks about random other things is really, really weird. I know people think he's just a rambling kind of guy, but I find it really bizarre--just the total asides into irrelevant stuff. At the very end he talks about how Dylan didn't really like Nascar, but you know that's something DR should accommodate on since they are making memories together. It's just really odd IMO.

Great point!! Could possibly be the reason for the "inconclusive"......JMO

All I see is a mother who is at her wits end and just wants her son home . :cow:

I think the father wants that, too. But, continually asking him the same questions that he cannot answer will not lead to a resolution.

And how do you "go" to the Marshal's office if they are closed? I don't care if they have a staff of Marshal's or not, if reception is gone and the office is CLOSED, there is no way to get into the bldg. I've seen a lot of small town LE offices that close up at a certain time and from that point on, the doors are locked. If you need someone, you call 911 and they patch you through or you go to the Sheriff dept/City police dept or wherever they man a desk 24/7.

This confuses me because different states and counties and jurisdictions have different ' titles' for LE I guess. Where I live we have a sheriff,,, he presdies over the whole county . A marshall's office I dont' really know what it is. So the way I've taken that whole talk is both the marshall and sheriff, two nearly EQUAL bodies of LE were informed, so that is better than just ONE being informed !
Bayfield Marshal's Office:

ETA:
Durango Sheriff's dept:

As it turns out, the sheriff's office seems to be the better place to go to report a missing person, as they have more resources.
