I thought they had dogs out to MR's house in the beginning & either got a scent to the driveway or it stopped to the lake?

There was talk of dogs on FB, but I've just been going through every MSM article I could find about the search, and I couldn't find a mention of dogs used anywhere. It could have happened, but I can't find anything about it on newspaper or local TV sites. All MOO

Has the house ever been searched and if so when and by whom? TIA.

Cursory search by LE the night DR was reported missing, to see if he left anything behind.
Second search by FBI, extensive and IMO about 10 days too late.

The river on the east side of the lake at 5 Branches campground is the Pine River also. It's quite possible that it flows into the lake on the east side then continues flowing out at the south.

Can you explain what flotsam and jetsam is please?
Sorry, that was idiom usage, not literal usage.
Flotsam and jetsam are the pieces of broken wood and other waste material found on the beach or floating in the water. When people boat in a body of water, they pitch things over the side, even if they are not supposed to. This "stuff" gets caught in anything that has fallen into the water (like branches, leaves or previous things thrown in) or is growing in the bottom of said body of water. The stuff then has things grow on it, attracting more "stuff" to get caught, and so on. Often, pieces of trees (for various reasons) end up in the body of water, and these catch paper, cans, clothing, etc. They get so loaded with junk that other things get wedged underneath and cannot surface, even if it naturally would do so. Smaller reservoirs are occasionally dredged to remove this junk, but most of the larger ones are not. This is my experience.

I"m confused, again. DP did not make the map, google did and they have a lot of experience in it. IMO the chances of the one area that is in discussion being inaccurate is highly unlikely.

The confusion, for me, is in regards to BBM - I don't understand what that means or refers to. Are you saying that MR was stating something different than yes, when asked, is this T's house? TIA

well he did say several times that it was NOT 5.9 miles to Tristen"s house

It's not at the top for some reason, it's on the right hand column. It now says 21 min ago. There's no real info there , its' just the tone is different than it has been . Could be nothing. Usually the status updates on that page are upbeat, happy , hopeful and this one just seems like resignation? IDk

Therre is a lot of confusion surrounding those reports. I have seen nothing convincing that they followed any scent TO the lake or even from his home.

They didnt even have any proper scent items from Dylan for 7 days.

The scent at the lake was from cadaver dogs on the lake. Not necessarily Dylans scent they hit on.

We never ever saw any pictures or reports of dogs taken into the home, AFAIK.

There were reports of a scent picked up down the street from MR's home, but it was NOT specifically Dylans, because it was before they had his scent items.

She's with Rocky Mountain Investigations/Michael Olson, and several of us have commented on not seeing anything from/about them since the "tip" mess. Moo

DP's staff had spoken with MO and MO was going to give them some info and appear on the show. After multiple attempts over several day by DP staff to contact MO, as recently as two days before taping, MO did not answer calls, return calls and did not appear on the show.

MR indicated that he had not been able to contact MO either.

DEBRIS! Debris, yes I get it. Just had never heard of flotsam and jetsam. Thanks for explaining! And yes a body can get caught up in that flotsam and jetsam pretty darn easily. So one cannot assume if a body went in anywhere in that lake that the current would always carry it down to the dam.

Yes, that is what it does.

Just thinking back when Lacy Peterson went missing -- it seemed forever before Scott Peterson was charged -- and he had changed his hair color, was driving in someone else's car, had camping gear and was headed to Mexico. It seemed like authorities got him at the very last minute before he could get out of dodge.

So -- maybe the "wealth of evidence" is all there -- but nothing that can definitively tie MR to Dylan's disappearance and/or possible death. In spite of circumstantial evidence, it seems without a body, nothing can be done -- not even refer to someone as being a potential suspect. While I can't blame investigators for not wanting to send divers into freezing cold water, it seems avoiding it prevents a potential faster resolution. Why doesn't the FBI send one of their dive teams in? Or bring back the sonar and do another search. They know someone is in the lake -- I can't understand how they can justify delaying finding out who it is.

Is that right ? :what::what::what:
So MO is MIA ! Bit off a bit more than he could chew.
OH lol, you know what ? I bet MR agreed to do the show cuz MO would be
there to ' watch his back ' in MR's mind anyway and when MO did not show
MR was unprepared to go it alone. Curious as all get out !

Exactly. He could have spent 4 days with Dylan. Then driven him to Springs and dropped him off for a visit for T-giving. Then he could have picked him up and they could have gone to his brothers i Castle Rock for a day or so, then dropped D home on his return trip. That way everyone would be satisfied.

There is nothing wrong with fighting for your kid to spend Thanksgiving with you. But at least have a turkey dinner planned somewhere if you win in court.

I am sure that one of D's friends in Bayfield would have extended an invitation knowing D was therre alone with his dad. They could have gone to R's grandmothers or something like that. But MR spoke as if it was just going to be him and his son, spending the holiday alone, because that is what D wanted. And I think that is delusional thinking on his part. JMO

Here's the thing. It seems fairly obvious that Mr. Redwine's primary motivation is making sure that he gets what he feels he deserves (well, and also making sure that Elaine gets as little as possible, but that's another issue). So, the important thing w/the Thanksgiving visit is that he had custody of Dylan. What was not important, however, was to make sure that Dylan had the holiday that he wanted. Whether that meant to see his grandmother or visit w/friends, it clearly did not matter.

FBI has been involved in the other cases of children still missing, two, three, four, or more years later. There is no guarantee that Dylan will be found. Or that charges will ever come.

True, but I have a good feeling about this - I know, its all in my feeling, nothing else :blushing:

Really wish we still had the forensic astrology thread

IMO MOO

Well could it be because LE really is out searching the lake again I wonder?

No, he said it was not 6 miles, then asked Dr Phil to pull up a map, Mark confirmed the locations of his house and T's house, and then the route calculated to 5.9 miles. After the location confirmations and the map calculation he never refuted the distance between the houses. Transcript, article, and video with links a few pages back.
