I wonder who it is.

They don't say, just that they are well qualified with top equipment. It does say they cut holes in the ice the same place the other dogs got hits back in Nov and got a light scent but then moved 100 yds east and that's where they got the strong hits.

FYI re: the FMDR post about them having found a SAR & dive team: the post is stickied at the top, and it says ice melts enough to get a boat on the water, so they're not waiting for full thaw. More detail re: equipment their bringing in the post. Also, they once again stated Wendy's dogs check out and alerted in the same area as the dogs did in Nov, and that they alerted 100 yards east of that same area.

To be completely honest LE hasn't said anything about anyone's involvement or lack thereof,,,,,,,,so you can't really say by who LE says .........because they don't !

Here's what I'm currently going by -

Neither Dylan’s father, Mark Redwine, or mother Elaine Redwine, are considered suspects by the Sheriff’s Department.

Sarx, the statement on FMDR also said that Wendy's dogs hit 100 yards east from where the Sheriff's dogs hit. That they cut holes in the ice at the same spots as the Sheriff, and got a "light scent" there, then went 100 yards east, and got more hits.

There are pics and video of the white buoys on the water marking where the Sheriff's dogs hit. Using them, it could probably be determined where that 100 yards east is.

The day-to-day parent certainly knows what TV shows/channels they watch & texting (especially if they pay the bills.

I don't believe MR's story & I think he made a mistake on the NIC channel & if Dylan was up (as he said & able) Dylan would have kept texting after 9:37. I don't see at 10:30 Dylan would have been all that engrossed in NIC & forgot his friends that he wanted to see lol.

Well, she certainly gave him more freedom than a lot of 13 year olds have, he was accustomed to wandering around all day and then calling her to tell her where he was "landing" at night. I can't see her being all that concerned with knowing what t.v. channels he was watching. She makes it sound like MTV was the ONLY thing he ever watched, but I've seen several parents on here saying it's way too explicit and they don't let their own kids that age watch it. I have no idea because I've never watched it myself. Was she with him 24/7? Can she absolutely swear that he NEVER watched Nick channels? NO, she can't. I'm not bashing her one bit, but that is just unrealistic to make that kind of claim.
I could sit here and say that none of my boys ever looked at , but in truth, I never SAW them do it, but I can't say they NEVER did.

:seeyaersonally, I will go by the official statement on the screen vs. DP's interpretation. I am a stickler that way.

I don't know how common it is, but it definitely happens. When my friends divorced, custody was revisited when one of the parents moved out of state. Because the child was thirteen at the time, his wishes were taken into consideration. He spoke privately with the judge. I know because I was at the court house waiting with both his parents when it happened.

ETA: There were no allegations of abuse or neglect involved in this case.

It's happened here, not sure how often, but it's been done. I worked for a woman who tried to get custody of her grandson, when her ex DIL remarried, because she had basically raised him and the DIL was trying to keep her away from him entirely. The judge called the boy into his chambers and talked with him at length. She did not win custody, but she did get regular visitation with him. This was many years ago, so it's been common practice in custody disputes here for a long time.

She couldn't be with them because she would have exposed the whereabouts of the kids. She even went to jail. I don't remember for how long. But she absolutely refused to say where the kids were.

I agree it doesn't make a lot of sense. But rarely do cases of missing children make sense.

Hes 13 how far can kids go?
To friends houses, then they all call or TEXT their parents to let them know where they LAND for the evening they all do it its nothing alarming!
My son has5 friends they all live kind of in the same area.they traveled on bikes or a PARENT took them atlunch time they might be at my house and I feed them dinner is Pizza at another friends house then off to play video games at the other and then they are having fun and request to stay for the evening. Why why why does that bother anyone? these are kids young teens not 7 yr olds and they also cant drive.

Dang I say to my son let me know where you land for the night never thought
it was the wrong thing to say till now.

What is a "light scent" and how is that determined? They are dogs, I would think it would be difficult for a dog to communicate that?

I'm even more of a stickler, I guess. I saw Dr Phil say it was only a "portion" of the statement, so I emailed Bender for the complete statement, and clarification on whether the statement Dr Phil gave following what was on the screen was from LE. <shrug> :seeya:

I have no idea, ColdHands. I have to admit that whereas I have little knowledge of SAR dogs, I do have concerns about Wendy and her dogs after reading the news articles about Tammy Salle's case. I'm just in "wait and see" mode on Dylan's case. On just about everything lol.
