I don't believe the runaway one either, but I feel like I have to throw something out there now and then so MR doesn't just become a done deal here - just in case he really is innocent. I do still believe there's a reasonable possibility that it was the family friend coming to the door, but there's no more proof of that than there is of MR doing it from what I can see. MOO

Totally understand.

Much like the alerts in the lake and LE dismissing them.

I can truly only come up with 2 scenerios if that is what they honestly believe.

The first is that it would be someone else and/or something they are monitoring like a body farm would.

LE have been using some different stategies in this case, so the only other one I can come up with is that they only stated there were hits when in fact there were none.

Now I adjust my designer straight jacket :giggle:

The WS glitches keep eating the multi quote post I'm working on with quotes from LE, Dylan's friends, Elaine, & Mark all stating that Dylan did not run away. (I think it's about the only thing Elaine & Mark agree on.) I'll post it tomorrow. :offtobed:

I had just the opposite reaction. In the 30 years I have been fishing I have always kept my gear in the garage.

The only way I could make the garage work for me is that it had to then be someone that knew Dylan. I can't see a RSO taking the time.

Conversely, MR's truck was not there. Maybe someone thought he was gone and entered to steal items.

I wonder where he left his truck when he was away working. If he took it, or it was otherwise not visible, it seems as though there would be plenty of opportunities for a house thief, since he was gone a lot. Again, for me, a huge coincidence if a thief happened by just at that particular time when Dylan was there alone, not expected to be there. Etc.

I have a question for you all.

How full do you think the backpack was that can be seen in the picture at the airport?

Do you think it was full?
Was it partially full?
Items mainly on the bottom?

The alternate scenario I keep imagining is that Dylan may have walked to the marina to kill some time (maybe stopping by T's to see if he was home) and been the victim of a hit and run. If the roads are heavy with trees and undergrowth perhaps his body was thrown by the impact into the woods and has yet to be discovered.

The thing I have trouble squaring with most of these other scenarios is the last activity on Dylan's phone being from the previous night.

If the roads are heavy with trees and undergrowth perhaps his body was thrown off into the woods and has yet to be discovered.

I did think about that possibility at one point. But I have trouble with the lack of phone usage and possibly even lack of pinging after Sunday. I also just do not see him going outside at all that morning voluntarily, if he was alive, as if MR was telling the truth and really could not wake him in such a long time trying, I think he would sleep quite a while and then eat that cereal while watching TV and staying warm.

But again, not texting anyone?

In the airport picture, I can't see it all that well, but it doesn't look like it is stuffed with stuff.... I think Dylan packed pretty light, but he probably did have clothes at MR's if he was just there in September. Also, it looks and sounds like his style was pretty casual - shorts, t-shirts and shoes & socks. That doesn't really take up a lot of space.

I had actually brought this up quite early in this case and asked locals if it was possible for him to of been hit far enough to land in the lake.

It seems like it could be a possibility.

ETA This could then as well be a reason for LE to ask for any footage, without specifically asking for MR's vehicle.

It's so hard to tell isn't it? Judging by what I can see behind his right hand and comparing it against his body size and his tshirt, it looks like the bottom of the pack is pretty large.

ETA I suppose it depends on whether he has the pack slung over one shoulder, or both.

While MR keeps a shotgun on his kitchen table, I don't think he keeps a fishing pole in his living room.

From Dr. Phil, pt. 2:

CR:
When you go into your house the fishing pole is in the garage. You didn’t walk through the garage and into the house before you went into the house...

MR:
There’s several places that that fishing pole is… it was either next to the TV

CR:
It’s always in the garage. Then how come that’s the first …you noticed that before his bike? Before his footprints?

There's several places that that fishing pole is ... it was either next to the TV

MR doesn't sound too convinced the fishing pole was there so I can't believe it either. All MOO

I don't know that CR has been there of late to be able to state that with the degree of certainty that I would require. If he had just been there the month before then I would put additional weight into it.

Okay too many spellings errors rofl

Time to get some sleep. Hoping Dylan is home today!!

I am sorry, but this truly sounds like a fictional plot for a movie to me, and nothing remotely possible, Imo. But that is just me, obviously. What on earth is or was the motive? And how does one go to all of the trouble of setting up a bed, etc. and not think of what comes next?

I've tried very hard to post this so it doesn't point to any specific person, but I'm not sure if I can answer those questions without doing that. I'll think on it some and see what I can come up with. I do have answers, but nothing I can word properly yet.

But we do have confirmation that Elaine said Dylan was just not into fishing!!
Can anybody really see him going fishing when he was to meet his friends?

No...

Also most petty house thieves will NOT seize an on opportunity to snatch a child. Not saying they could not but you're talking about twice the odds that one came by when Dylan was there and also thought they may as well steal a child along with the dvd player . moooo

Because Dylan knows exactly who pat is? And would say oh i've been at pats house all this time? Just YOUR opinion only ? JYOOOO :P

Exactly.

ETA: Actually, he could still be in the storage room at the business place, but I think he'd me more likely to be discovered there, MOO2

Who is Pat? Is this person real or are you just theorizing?

Please change the name......I'm getting a complex...lol

BBM: I don't want you to get a complex, and I really want to know the answer to the questions I am asking. Did you think it was appropriate for Mark to be accusing Elaine of not sending a coat with Dylan when the discussion was not what Dylan brought, but why it was unlikely that Dylan would have walked nearly six miles to his friends house? You see, to me, and I allot that I am really attuned to blame shifting, Mark was in the hot seat over not wondering where Dylan was when he got home, writing it off to his son walking six miles to his friends house without a jacket (obviously something Mark knew about-he left his son at home without a jacket). The ONLY reason I can see for bringing up the jacket, was to shift blame. I guess my real question is then, what other reason could there be for bringing up the lack of jacket? What was the point, if not to try to make Elaine look bad? (I also allow that the answer can simply be he felt attacked so tit for tat back at her).

Thank you in advance.

Elaine was the one who brought up the lack of a jacket. He was talking about the things Dylan might have been doing outside, and she said "in November?" She knew Dylan had not taken a coat. That's why he said what he did about her not sending him with a coat. They were just playing the blame game of one-upping each other. One throws out an insult, the other one-ups them. Very, very common. Dylan did have a hoodie, so mild temps might not have bothered him if he wanted to go out walking.
It seems odd to me, though. Most moms know kids that age are not going to be staying in the house for a whole week, and they know that snow is possible in CO in November. I would not send my kids to spend a week anywhere in November without a coat. My stepkids used to bring jackets and sweats with them when they came from CO to visit in the summer, until I told their mother that it hardly ever gets cold in Texas that time of year. She said she didn't pack their clothes, they did, so that explained it.
