Actually, it makes alot of sense. Early on here when many of us were grasping at what might have set someone off to hurt a 13 year old boy, I had to remind myself NOT to get inside the brain of someone like that. My rules do not apply to them. Anyone who could kill a young man does not function with the same reason and logic that I have so there might BE no understanding of it. We cycled through spousal revenge (still an option) to MR's drinking (perhaps an inducement to behave inappropriately) and now speculating that Dylan might have said something to set MR off (as ER has said from early on as well). There is NO acceptable explanation or understanding of such behavior. I have backed away from speculation about motive. It doesn't help me solve this particular case and it isn't helping me find Dylan. I agree completely with what AZGrandma has said here, we are hunting for the "why"- just chiming in that I can go on without the why sometimes because any answer to that question is unacceptable to my brain.

I agree. I stated this weekend that I'm sitting right at 50/50, and the 50% that thinks that MR is guilty of something is being led by the fact that people that know him think he is capable of doing something. And the other 50% is led by the fact that there is no physical evidence of that, nor is there physical evidence that anyone else did it either (not that I am aware of), leaving room for something to have been done to Dylan by someone else. IMO.

JMO but had to leave for awhile, sometimes I forget that I have as much right to my opinion as every one else does their own. If not for Dylan's lack of communication after sunday night, if not for the fact that there are no confirmed sightings of DR after Sunday night, if not for MR's lack of concern and very strange behaviour....well here I go again justifying my opinion. MOO but I believe his Ex's and even DP's opinions matter to me. Having a father who was a homicide investigator, a grandfather who was a prosecutor and working in the medico/legal system myself I think I have some good insights. Never said I know everything. But my opinion is as good as anyone else's. I believe MR is hiding some big secrets about where his son is...Just MOO.

what kind of phone did Dylan have?
Was this Ipad thing missing too?

also I wonder if AZG...or ER, would know/recall instances, that in hindsight possibly, might indicate MR ever suffered blackouts

also I wanted to ask, where did DR live prior to the move with his mother?

I like this thought. MR's description of Monday morning was that he got up, banged around the house a bit trying to make noise so Dylan would wake up. As it got later and Dylan didn't want to get up - he told Dylan he would be back and left to do his errands.

Does MR usually shower in the mornings? I wonder if that was part of "banging around the house?" Yes, it would be interesting to see what he was wearing when he was attending to his errands.

Salem

The thing is if Mark banged around the house then i would of thought Dylan would of got up as where Dylan slept is right where the kitchen is so how could Dylan sleep though the banging around?

its a tiny little house IMO

From Elaine -

“We lived off CR 223 for about eight years,” she said, and his friends were from Bayfield, not Vallecito.

It appears we have run out of things to discuss in this case.<modsnip> IMO the reasons to look at MR are many and are obvious. It seems some want to continually make excuses for him and it defies all logic in my mind. I just can't grasp it. <modsnip> No, we don't have cold hard facts saying the MR harmed Dylan. If we did, so would LE and he would be in jail right now and there would be nothing for us to discuss here.
I don't think WS is a court of law. <modsnip>
With that said I am hoping the lake thaws quickly and Elaine and company are able to get their divers in as soon as possible. I don't know that it is Dylan in that lake but I do believe someone is in there. It's a shame that LE will not be doing this but I see over and over where families have to step up and do much of the work on their own. It's sad.

<modsnip>

How does that work? If Elaine & Mike have had to hire divers to find out what 4 separate HRD dogs have scented, then do the divers call LE once they locate the body?

Frankly, if I had to hire divers to recover the body of my son, I'd be the one dispensing justice shortly thereafter. Really, I wish LE would step up to the plate and DO THEIR JOBS! :moo:

sorry to keep posting stuff- keeping an open mind stiill...BUT does anyone know if either of MR's trucks ( I think he has 2 vehicles-trucks?) are 4 wheel drive?

A question I have is why did he decide to do these errands that morning?
If he just decided to do these things that morning or it was preplanned. Did he have an apt or did he just drop in!
Why not wait for your son to wake up and take him with you?

MR had an appointment with his attorney that Monday morning regarding papers they were preparing to file. MB interview.

My guess on the work thing is that if he'd been out of town before, then a weekend , its' probably standard to go to the office the first business day after a trip to get your pay or reimbursement for expense/fuel/mileage etc. as quickly as you can.

As for the lawyer, I just had a thought ! Could MR have been attempting to fight for custody again? I understand he had just recently lost the 50 / 50 because of the move but some folks are sore losers or just don't mind spending all their money on lawyers to make a point. So I'm wondering could his lawyer have said ' once dylan is in YOUR custody we can file an emergency request for change '' ? Or something like that. If I'm talking nonsense , someone correct me. It was just a thought I had of why the divorce lawyer as soon as he gets Dylan in his possession.
Because I know sometimes if a child goes to visit a parent and says something like ' i was abused' or ' i was left for 3 days with no food' ( im making UP reasons and not implying by any stretch that DR said these things, just thinking out loud of how it could go ) then that parent can file for an emergency change in custody to ' protect the child' while it's sorted out through court. Could MR have been trying something like that ?
100% MOOOOO

OR appealing him now having to pay child support since custody change on 9/21?

If Dylan's body is in the lake, and this child's mother has to pay (and it will be expensive!) divers to go down and get him, then LE is going to look really, really bad. It will be horrible.

And that's where I get stuck. Why is LE (so far) willing to take that chance, unless they're very, very sure that there's no body down there?

I would like to know the reason LE gave ER and MR for not diving again. Or if maybe LE did tell them they will dive again, but ER has decided on her own that she wants her own dive team. I can see myself, I can see any mother, saying I'm not going through what I've been going through since the November dive, waiting and wondering and questioning. I'm going to hire the best dive team I can find, and get an answer on what's in the lake once and for all.

Respectfully Snipped & BBM -

This is what I might do god forbid I'm ever in her shoes.

Don't remember what time MR got up that Monday morning, but when I first read it I thought it was way too early for most adults to start running errands. Does MR have a regular job and is he used to getting up that early? What are his usual waking habits? And then, to be gone for all those hours ... Right off it sounded strange to me. I tend to believe that Dylan never even made it to his dad's house.

LE brought in a dive team for 1 or 2 days was it? Each diver could only go down for a short period of time once per day. I don't know how many divers they had but probably a small number. So how can LE be so sure there is no body in that huge lake? I believe 2 or 3 independent dogs that LE brought in got hits there. Then Wendy's 2 dogs. What are the odds of this happening? I believe 1 dog might make a mistake...even 2, but 4-5 different dogs? Nope not buying it. Assuming all dogs are properly trained, I would say the odds are very low of this happening and there not being a body in there. LE certainly cannot assure anyone that a VERY THOROUGH search of the lake was done.

I feel that if Elaine and company have to use the reward fund to pay independent divers then so be it. She needs to do what she has to do to get answers. And shame on LE if they do find a body.

Yes of course if a body is found by the independent dive team, LE would be notified immediately. I wonder if LE will have someone present during the search?

Not sure about the phone
No blackouts or anything like that while we were together
DR lived with ER in Bayfield before moving to C/S area (Monument) if that's what you were referring to.

I don't buy that the dogs made a mistake either. I do, however think they may have been down too far towards the dam. I think that they need to start where Wendy's dogs hit on the east side and move down from there. I believe there is a body down there. Just praying it isn't Dylan. JMO

Essentially, MH is his stepdad. His mom is engaged to him and they all live together. Semantics, imo.

As well as the many times he has demonstrated love and concern for Dylan. He was recently at the frozen lake.
