Saying he went to T's and T said he hadn't seen Dylan and saying he went to T's and nobody was home is not just expanding on a truth. One is true and one is a lie or they are both lies. Both cannot be true statements.

I'm sure LE has compiled numerous examples of MR's conflicting stories. They also have access to all the stories they got from him directly as well as the results of the polygraph he failed to pass. Plenty of info for them to work with! I have faith that as soon as Dylan is located, justice will commence! :moo:

I have faith in the LE team that is investigating Dylan's disappearance, too.

Perhaps they do and perhaps they don't. LE hasn't said. I actually hope that LE has evidence that leads to Dylan or what happened to him that goes beyond opinion and into the realm of evidence that is clear.

Could you tell me what it was then? I have listened to the video you posted, thinking perhaps I missed it. I still get the same question. Would you please say what question was asked? Thank you. And sorry if I have misquoted.

It was an open-ended question by the interviewer, which IMO was in bad form. She asked "So you watched the movie and then what?" This is where Mark started speaking about after he went to bed, and then woke in the morning, and tried to wake Dylan. IMO, there was no "word salad", as the interviewer didn't ask a specific question, and she left it open for Mark to say what happened after.

I was reading about a Colorado murder case this morning where the affidavits for the search warrants were released soon after the arrest of the person who was later convicted.

If the Task Force has the evidence to arrest MR, they would have done it. It pains me to think that they actually may not know much at all. I understand why they don't say much, but darn it, it leaves many of us taking stabs in the dark.

Is anyone else a little afraid of a FMDR update ? :(

  • #908
Of course it doesn't, but it can be expanded upon, for any reason. Perhaps an interview would be a reason someone would need to expand upon their truthful statement.

But it dosent change!

Mark went to Ts house and spoke to him
then it became he wasnt home he never spoke to him

thats not expanding the truth thats changing it thus its not a truth!

Right?

It's probably just an update on the lake conditions and search. If it were anything official I would think LE would be making the announcement.

Curious, yes. Afraid, no.

I've seen it over and over again, LE do not update family and friends with their progress in an investigation until they make an arrest and even then, the information is spotty. It's so frustrating for the families of the missing. So, I expect the update to be about the family driven search efforts and that's it.

No!

I think its because the snow and ice is melting and searches can resume.\\JMO

I have a feeling we will see alot more action!

Right?

I recall reading a persuasive point of view on this statement. Something to the effect of MR got the names of Dylan's friend mixed up. So, no, I can't get on board with the conclusion you have drawn that it was a change in "truth".

Do you have a link to this? I would be interested in reading it. IMO it was quite clear that MR was talking about T specifically in both statements. One saying he went to T's and they hadn't seen Dylan and one he went to T's and nobody was home.

:what:

A link to someone's opinion? I don't think so. It's enough for me that I do not believe that the "Tristan" inconsistencies are evidence of an untruth. That is all.

I didn't realize you were talking about this being just someone's opinion. I thought maybe MR specifically said this to try to clear up the mistruth. So someone came to the opinion that he must have been talking about a different friend. Sounds like a stretch to me...but ok. I prefer to listen to his direct words over someone's random opinion.

I wonder if "word salad" might be a stress reaction. The man's son is missing. Maybe he isn't guilty, I don't know but Jessica Ridgeway's mother babbled and so have other parents of missing kids who were innocent.

I guess I just don't get the joke.

MR specifically stated that he went to T's house and nobody had seen Dylan, then he stated that he went to T's house and nobody was home. When I asked him why his stories keep changing and how can he talk to someone that isn't there, it was WHILE the topic of discussion was T.
MR is not so daft as to not know that when 5 people are actively talking about T, including himself, that he thinks it is actually R. I'm all for giving someone the benefit of the doubt, I just have to wonder how many benefits of the doubt does one man get? I'm not discounting opinions by any means, it's a valid question that I have.

The story changed three times, whether he was referring to T or the man on the moon, his references were always the same person. It wasn't IMO a rapid fire of questions or a highly stressful situation in which ANY of those three distinct references and versions were made.

Maybe Mark went to T's house twice. Once when no one was home, and another time when they said that they didn't see Dylan. MOO.

I am not aware that there are any sheriffs working for any state. The Sheriff is an elected official and there is only one for each county. Their officers are sheriff's deputies, but they are never called sheriffs... that title belongs only to the elected Sheriff.
LE working for the state may be agents like they are in the FBI, or state troopers, I don't know, but they are not called sheriffs, AFAIK.

You're correct that I misstated in my sentence that said "State Sheriffs". What I should have said is "County Sheriffs". My apologies for any confusion that may have caused. I will correct the original, if that's still possible. I am well aware of the other facts you have shared. Also note that the officers within a sheriff's are not always titled as Sheriff's Deputies, some agencies refer to them as Sheriff's officers, Deputy Sheriff's, or the Sheriff's Police.

Please also note that there are two states with the US that do not have County Sheriff's. Alaska, which has not counties, and Connecticut that has no county governments, but instead has State Marshals.

ETA: It's been too long since posted for me to edit the original statement. Again, my apologies for any confusion that caused.

ETA II - Added extra information in regard to State Sheriff's officers, and agencies.

Another day closer to finding out where Dylan is. Thinking of Dylan and hoping this case ends on a positive note.
